IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL

Psalms 93:1-4 The Lord is king! He is robed in majesty.  Indeed, the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength.  The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. Your throne, O Lord, has stood from time immemorial.  You yourself are from the everlasting past. The floods have risen up, O Lord.  The floods have roared like thunder; the floods have lifted their pounding waves. But mightier than the violent raging of the seas, mightier than the breakers on the shore— the Lord above is mightier than these! Nothing happening in the world today is strong enough to shake the Heavenly Father, truly none is actually new, it has happened in time past. Is it natural disasters, recession, wars, moral decadence, false prophets, teachers, corrupt politicians, etc? In the midst of it all you are only important when you are alive, but with the Heavenly Father you are more important than living for the  now, He also has in mind your eternity. This, many may never think about maybe because of fear or a

LET'S CONTROL THE MEDIA

Proverbs 15:31 The ear that hears the reproof of life will abide among the wise Proverbs 4:24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. According to the late Myles Munroe the soul is the mind, will & emotion The soul is the first component of media created by God. It is a media because it is the mediator between the spirit and the body The soul receives from the senses and deposits in our spirit. Let us understand that it may not just be . . . * entertainment but containment Media: the medium between the source and the object Media means to interprete The media controls the message, not the source The media can * corrupt * clarify * pervert * protect  or * destroy the integrity of a message. Proverbs 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. It is our duty to guard what media is fed to us, our places of influence, our family and children(s) * check the media in your house * chec

SAFE IN HIS ARMS

Psalms 16:5 Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.  You guard all that is mine. With all the troubles in the world, one needs to seek solace in the one who has all things under His control. Psalms 24:1-2 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.  The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. So that when the powers on the earth and in the lower heavens try their attacks they will need to face the One who has you under His cover. Psalms 91:1-4,10 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord:  He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers.  He will shelter you with his wings.  His faithful promises are your armor and protection no evil will conquer you; no plague will come n

STAY GOOD WHATEVER WAY

Ephesians 6:8 Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free. The test of a person's character is not limited to a particular situation, for it is tested during difficult times and also pleasant times alike. How do you handle money when you have little and when you have plenty? Can you give in both situations. How humble are you when in authority, in contrast to when you are not in power? The man Joseph is a good example. I love his story because he saw his vision at a very young age. It didn't make him proud or boastful, his only supposed mistake was to share his dream with his older siblings, he did this in good faith but their response was an opposing character - "envy and hate". What is your content! What do you have inside you? Situations only exposes it. Selah! Comparing Joseph and Daniel, we observe that from a very young age they had built character. Comparing we see that they were taken away from their hom

BORN TO ENJOY

Genesis 1:26-28 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image.  In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” I once said that God did not create man to suffer, man was created to enjoy, of course from our opening verse we see that this is true. What brought about man's suffering? Sin did. Though we really need to understand what enjoyment means, the corruption of man and the entry of strange beings mixing with men taught men so much evil to further corrupt man's thought, so it was recorded that God said: Genesis 6:5 The Lord observ

WORKS FOR OUR GOOD

Romans 5:3-4 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. The beauty of knowing the Lord is seen in the victory that we have in Him, for He makes all things work for our good. He said long ago through the prophet Jeremiah: Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. He is the Sovereign Lord, thus no one can counter what He wants to do. Therefore anything that is done cannot stop His intentions but can only make it come to pass. When Joseph's brothers tried to frustrate his vision by killing him, they actually worked to bring it to pass: Genesis 37:5,8 One night Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever. His brothers responded, “So you think you will be our king, do yo

IT WILL BE ALRIGHT

Psalms 9:1-2 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. We know that it may not be all rosy as we move on in life, there are times we face challenges or difficulties, it is part of the journey. Christ even told His disciples: John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” What will bring about the sorrows? They will come because you want to do a good work but evil forces will oppose it.  The same thing with our health, finances, businesses, family, and all endeavours we are committed to. The good work we want to do will meet the opposition of the evil that counters it, then there is contest and the good must always emerge the winner. So, we cannot utterly get discouraged because we meet a challenge, we must face it an

THE LEADER'S PRAYER

Colossians 1:9-10 So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. This should be the prayer of spiritual leaders into the live of all believers no matter from what extract they are from. The desire to see them grow in the knowledge of the will of God, to know the Lord better and better. Then that they should live lives that honour and please the Lord, that kind of life is the one that produces all kinds of good fruits. Take a look around, listen to the supposed leaders in the Lord, is that what we see. What comes from the pulpit nowadays? What examples do they give? Are they good fathers to their own immediate family before attempting to be good fathers to a congregation? Fo

HE STILL HOLDS IT TOGETHER

Psalms 75:3 When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm. At this time everyone who pays close attention will be aware of the seeming turmoils on the earth, from the pandemic that seems to have dwindled but you begin to hear of one arising here and there, strange ailments that disrupts the natural function of man and his activities. We look at wars and rumours of war, in most countries the economy seems to have crumbled though some are as a result of bad leaderships. Yet in all of these, our verse says - the Lord still holds the foundations firm. We must understand that these things are not really new, it has happened in years past and history do bear records, however we yet understand that it could be the sign that the end of all things is near. However remember what scriptures says: Jeremiah 6:14b saying, Peace, peace; when [there is] no peace. 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will com

FREE CONSCIENCE

1 John 3:19-21 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. One strong hold of the enemy over a believer is guilt. The battle begins with the mind and ends with the mind. Recall that the first family was deceived, the deceit broke their conscience and the result was that they ran away from God: Genesis 3:9-10 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.” The conscience is a very important part of the human, it is the part of His soul that keeps humans from going overboard, everyone was created thus. However, one can train or allow the conscience to become hardened. 1 Timothy 4:2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead. The conscience is one&#

REMEMBER, THERE ARE ALWAYS GOOD REMNANTS

Revelation 3:4 “Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. Some people have derailed, many have joined the crowds, some say: "we can't beat them, so we join them". No matter what you decide, always remember that there is always a remnant who are still faithful. See, it doesn't matter if it is only one person, God will not bend because of the crowd, thus the scripture says: Exodus 23:2a “You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong.  Listen, it is easy to just join in, to avoid the name calling, embarrassments or delay. Wait, what happens in the the long run, what of your identity, who you are, whose you are? Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Have you lost your identity, are you givi

HE IS LORD

John 9:35-38 When Jesus heard what had happened, he found the man and asked, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” The man answered, “Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him.” “You have seen him,” Jesus said, “and he is speaking to you!” “Yes, Lord, I believe!” the man said. And he worshiped Jesus. So many have heard about the Messiah, Christ who died to take away the sins of the world. The question is what have we done with Him? The Jews to whom He first came ended up crucifying Him for they were the ones who brought Him to the judgment and also cried out His execution "crucify Him!". It is one thing to say that you believe in Christ or that you even know Him as Lord. The question still remains, what have you done with that knowledge? The religious folks like those in the time when Christ walked the earth as a human spent their whole time seeking faults in Him and how to kill Him, they saw but they could not benefit from the salvation that came to them on a platter of gold. T

THE LORD'S HAND IN IT

Psalms 121:1-2 I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! There is a great tendency to assume that, that success, achievement or exploit was achieved by one's own strength. The tendency is more when we see those who we believe do not know the Lord excelling in this or that. For even David at one time recorded that he once had the feeling that it was fruitless to stay upright for it seemed the evil ones were having it all working well for them. He finally discovered when he drew near to the Lord's presence that it was not so. We too can also think so when we measure with the wrong weight.  Proverbs 15:3 The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good. We must always understand that all humans were created to prosper, it is a default. Also, every creation is also by default endowed with special skills. Your ability to harness these skills to bring the right results yet lies with

THE BEGINNING AND THE END

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. This beginning verse of the bible, looking so ordinary, so simple a fact, straight to the point. Truth! Yet it carries with it the great revelation and message, the identity of the author of all things and the revelation of Himself in the flesh - Christ Jesus (Yeshua Hamashiac) That God was the beginning of anything that can or cannot be defined and that it was after that, that anything could be defined is accepted by all, except real atheist, however they also make this relevant for it is a battle for them to prove otherwise. The evidence of it however is revealed by nature itself: Romans 1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Now we who have believed need to live and take full advantage of this great privilege, the privilege

PRAISE THE LORD

Psalms 135:1-3 Praise the Lord!  Praise the name of the lord!  Praise him, you who serve the Lord, you who serve in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; celebrate his lovely name with music. There are ways to stay connected with the Lord, traditionally there is prayer, meditation on the word and worshipping with music/songs. Ephesians 5:19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. When we sing, the lyrics and the melody matter, for we make good sounds and speak the word to make good music to worship God. In doing this we automatically connect to the Father and are lifted up. Psalm 47:7  For God [is] the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. See, challenges and problems are weakened by true worship: Hebrews 13:15 Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name. The highe

DON'T FORGET WHO YOU ACCOUNT TO!

Hebrews 4:13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. There is a clear distinction between good and evil, however because of culture, traditions, human sentiments, society and community opinions, human laws etc., we could muddle up things.  For even in the times of the reign of the Jews, Mosaic laws were muddled up with the Jewish traditions: Mark 7:7-9 Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’ For you ignore God’s law and substitute your own tradition.” Then he said, “You skillfully sidestep God’s law in order to hold on to your own tradition. Christ actually gave examples after making the above statement: Mark 7:10-13 For instance, Moses gave you this law from God: ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I c

HOW THE LORD HAS HELPED US

Psalm 107:8 Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men! I once asked a colleague, "What will it have been like if we were born at the time of the law?". For before Christ was revealed man was in bondage, God was not yet revealed to man, sin reigned and many were entrapped in the bondage of idol worship. The revelation of Christ was salvation to man, the heavens rejoiced even though man had no clue what was going on, the prophecies were there but just as man still is today, they were not conscious of it. Matthew 2:3-5 King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?” “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote: They had the prophesy but missed the salvation. The same way many have the revelation of Christ and His second return

OUR FAITHFUL GOD

Psalms 100:5 For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. Reflecting on each day of our lives, we really will see how good the Lord is to us. We cannot only dwell on what we feel has not been done or concluded for us, we should consciously recall the various times we needed the Lord's intervention and He came to our rescue. The multitude of deliverance He has brought to us that we are unconscious of is another reason to be grateful, truly God is faithful. As we continue in our endeavours let us never forget to stay in His presence, for there lies safety, the loving hands of our Heavenly Father is sure protection, healing and provisions. Yes we hear of wars and rumours of wars, it was prophesied so, in all of it the Lord will keep His own both in this life and the life to come. Halleluyah. So we continue in this special blessings that the Lord commanded Aaron to give to the people. Numbers 6:24-26 ‘May the Lord bless

THE LORD KNOWS

Psalms 33:13-15 The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race. From his throne he observes all who live on the earth. He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do. Thanks be to the Heavenly Father who knows all things, for He said that even before we ask He knows what we desire, however, He said we should ask: Matthew 6:8 Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Thus we can really enjoy full protection and guidance as we go each day, for so many threats we are not aware of do arise, but the Lord rises for us and we are protected even in our ignorance. Psalms 91:5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Thus your trust in Him is wisdom, for man will always disappoint, but the Lord will remain faithful. Is it our health, He created thus He knows how to make it right again. He is the great healer. Is it our needs, He is the supplier of all good things. Halleluyah. Is it

TIME OUT - WITH CARE

Mark 6:30-31 The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. Rest is indeed needed after  * a stressful day or week, * a series of challenges *  a glorious time in His presence * days and weeks of fasting, or   * after a spiritual battle. Of course the list continues. Matthew 4:2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. The body may begin to look for an outing, a time to unwind, or to breathe a bit, away from all the toil. It is at this time that some may fall into temptation. Depending on the level of christian maturity, one may desire to try out something new. Rest cannot be ignored, yet we need to be cautious. If one falls, then conscience takes its toll. The enemy begins to speak condemnation. In mi

IT IS GOOD TO LISTEN

Proverbs 19:20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days. One of the greatest attributes of leaders is humility and it always comes with the patience to listen and to listen well. No matter how much we know and no matter how high the experience there is an advantage in choosing to listen. Ofcourse what we hear may not be of importance all the time,  yet being able to listen could save us a lot of headaches and stress. For how can you really solve people's problem when we do not have the facts about them? A child of God does not toil with His listening to the Heavenly Father, the three channels we could hear from are: * His word; * His Spirit living in us; and * people. John 8:43  "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. Psalms 62:11 God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. We don't have the power to predict all things but we do have the will to choose to li

GOOD GOOD FATHER

Matthew 7:9-11 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. A true pastor, minister or elder would teach you to know the Heavenly Father as your Father. For what Christ came to do was to make us family. John 1:12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. Religious leaders may not want to teach this truth and they alter it just to keep people under their control. However Christ told us: John 20:17b  But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Christ, made us family. This is why I love this extract from  a song by Chris Tomlin, "Good good Father (though I love the Casting Crowns' performance of the song) You&#

BE LIFTED

Psalms 30:11-12 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.  You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.  O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever! Sometime ago while listening to a clip of one of our revival ministers he said: "No one who cried Lord help me, is ignored"(paraphrased) I thought deeply about it for a while and in meditation it was obvious that Christ said it: John 6:37 However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. Joel 2:32a But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,  Romans 10:13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Can we see the key word: Everyone! The Lord's compassion is on everyone and He desires everyone to be saved. The Lord's greatest salvation of all, is the salvation of one's soul, then we could consider all other things that we need salvation for. Mark 8:37 Is anything

TESTED BY THE STORM

2Timothy 2:1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. We understand that as long as we live here on earth there will be times when the storm would rage. Troubles would arise in varying capacities. There will be times when things may not look as we want it to, when our faith is challenged. We must remember that we are not alone, because just as the disciples were afraid with Jesus in the boat the same way we may become afraid thinking we are alone. He is with us. Let us be reminded that nothing stands to be accepted as true or as what it is, till it has passed its own test. 1Peter 1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, Revelation 2:2 "I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have fo

DON'T DRAW BACK

Hebrews 10:39 But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved. Have you at anytime felt like giving up? What is the gain of all these disciplines, why don't I let it go, allow the flesh have it's way, let go of faith and just move on. (Not all burdens are from the Lord) No, don't! instead get it right. Stick with the truth. Listen, everyone must prove what or who they claim to be, that battle in your mind is also part of the test. James 1:2-4 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. For the things that try our faith, begins with our mind and also ends there. The other manifestations will yet rely on the mind for interpretation. We should y

LET HIM HOLD YOU

Matthew 11:26-28 Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way! “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. You know that while growing into maturity our children seem to want to be self reliant, they don't want you dishing out orders to them, restricting them on this and that (though almost all of them would want you to keep supplying the money and stuffs), they want to receive from you but don't want to be fully accountable to how it was utilized. Truly, we want our children to grow and have some sort of independence, but as they grow we do not want them to lose the process and instruction that the growing will be a fruitful one and not stunted. The same way it is with us and the Heavenly Father, He is not trying to cage us in, ho

WHAT PLEASES THE LORD

Proverbs 21:3 The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices. We cannot getting tired of emphasizing what matters. The truth is that religious practices are not all wrong in themselves but there are things that are important to God, this things we must take care of and make priority. Let us take the issue of giving, which is what it is, the legalistic part was never preached to or given to believers, Christ did not instruct it neither did any of His disciples. When Christ mentioned it He focused on what matters.  Listen: Matthew 23:23 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things. Can you see what Christ was interested in, Justice, Mercy and Faith. God is interested in the important th
