BORN TO ENJOY

Genesis 1:26-28

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

So God created human beings in his own image.

In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

I once said that God did not create man to suffer, man was created to enjoy, of course from our opening verse we see that this is true. What brought about man's suffering? Sin did.

Though we really need to understand what enjoyment means, the corruption of man and the entry of strange beings mixing with men taught men so much evil to further corrupt man's thought, so it was recorded that God said:

Genesis 6:5

The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.

Jeremiah 17:9

“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked.

Who really knows how bad it is?

We must note that this was not how the Lord made man!

Genesis 1:31

Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.

Truly man's fall resulted in so many ills, the whole generation on earth was destroyed leaving just a family, yet evil arose again, a single nation was chosen, even that nation could not be faithful. Then the ultimate price was paid. God had to come Himself through His Son to set man free.

However, we must note that this salvation is to be fully revealed at a later time, when all the evil powers and those who decide to follow them are finally condemned. Then those who believe and are faithful to the Lord will be totally redeemed to everlasting life.

Revelation 21:3-7

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.

All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.

The question people ask is, what of now? Is it just all about suffering?

The answer is NO.

The Lord has provided a solution for us through our time here, a comforter and helper to make us enjoy our life here.

John 14:18

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

John 14:17

[Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The Holy Spirit dwells in us and is God in us as we go on in this world.

Look at the God nature He puts in us:

Galatians 5:22-23

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

So we can yet enjoy in this life when we walk with God's Spirit, not the false enjoyment of sin and those things that destroy man true enjoyment, the true enjoyment is divine.

Romans 14:17

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

We are not born to suffer but to have true enjoyment in righteousness.

I prosper in the Lord.

1 Timothy 6:17b

Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

Glory to the one who gives is true enjoyment.

He calls us blessed.
