FREE CONSCIENCE

1 John 3:19-21

Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.

Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.

Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence.

One strong hold of the enemy over a believer is guilt.

The battle begins with the mind and ends with the mind. Recall that the first family was deceived, the deceit broke their conscience and the result was that they ran away from God:

Genesis 3:9-10

Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”

The conscience is a very important part of the human, it is the part of His soul that keeps humans from going overboard, everyone was created thus. However, one can train or allow the conscience to become hardened.

1 Timothy 4:2

These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.

The conscience is one's personal sense of the moral content of one's own conduct, intentions, or character with regard to a feeling of obligation to do right or be good. It is innate in man, and could be pruned to get better or be killed/hardened by practice.

An example of a man with good conscience in scripture was Cornelius:

Acts 10:1-2

In Caesarea there lived a Roman army officer named Cornelius, who was a captain of the Italian Regiment.

He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God.

The good conscience is the consciousness of God in man, thus the word - God-fearing.

So, we wonder why Cornelius needed salvation.

Simple: without Christ there is no eternal life.

John 4:10a

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God,

Romans 6:23b

but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is God's gift to man, not a product of works!

This is where we lose religion!

So, what is the message? The enemy may toil with your conscience to make you feel rejected that you may run from God. No, instead run towards God.

Listen to our open verses again:

1John 3:20-22(KJV)

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, [then] have we confidence toward God.

Be open to the Lord, hide nothing from Him, knowing that God is bigger than your heart. In him our conscience is kept alive and clean for His Spirit keeps His nature in us.

Galatians 5:22-23,25

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Don't let any human no matter their title write you off, or cause you to abandon your conscience to become hardened instead hide yourself in the Lord.

Hello, ministers, teachers, pastors, bishops, church leaders, do not condemn those with weak conscience, instead strengthen them, encourage them. Hello fellow believers, encourage, edify the brethren, there is no room for envy, unhealthy competition or STRIFE. By the grace of God helping one another, keeping the good conscience alive in God's Spirit.

1Corinthians 12:25

That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
