THE LORD'S HAND IN IT

Psalms 121:1-2

I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there?

My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!

There is a great tendency to assume that, that success, achievement or exploit was achieved by one's own strength. The tendency is more when we see those who we believe do not know the Lord excelling in this or that. For even David at one time recorded that he once had the feeling that it was fruitless to stay upright for it seemed the evil ones were having it all working well for them.

He finally discovered when he drew near to the Lord's presence that it was not so. We too can also think so when we measure with the wrong weight.

Proverbs 15:3

The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good.

We must always understand that all humans were created to prosper, it is a default. Also, every creation is also by default endowed with special skills. Your ability to harness these skills to bring the right results yet lies with you, however the enablement lies with the Heavenly Father.

So, the Lord's hand is still on it.

That is what the wise man wrote by the spirit:

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

So, it goes two ways, do not walk in mediocrity because you believe that the Lord has given you favour, neither do you pride yourself with the glory because you put in the effort and you succeeded.

One of the greatest king that lived, learnt it the hard way:

Daniel 4:4,29-32

“I, Nebuchadnezzar, was living in my palace in comfort and prosperity.

Twelve months later he was taking a walk on the flat roof of the royal palace in Babylon.

As he looked out across the city, he said, ‘Look at this great city of Babylon! By my own mighty power, I have built this beautiful city as my royal residence to display my majestic splendor.’

“While these words were still in his mouth, a voice called down from heaven, ‘O King Nebuchadnezzar, this message is for you! You are no longer ruler of this kingdom.

You will be driven from human society. You will live in the fields with the wild animals, and you will eat grass like a cow. Seven periods of time will pass while you live this way, until you learn that the Most High rules over the kingdoms of the world and gives them to anyone he chooses.’

We must understand that the Lord's hand is in it, and give Him glory.

For this reason many have derailed and left the real purpose of a thing to chase the wind:

* church leaders have left the souls of the believers and unbelievers alike to chase after, money, prestige, relevance and fame;

* political and secular leaders have left the well being, security and prosperity of the nation, state or community to seek after personal ambitions, corrupt wealth and unjust power;

* parents have left the training of their children in the way of the Lord to chase unnecessary things and competitions, (the future generation is scary to think about);

* we do not see true teachers and mentors like the time of old, seems we are creating a future that will consume itself.

We need to turn back to the Lord.

It is ignorance that make us so entitled to our supposed success. For the same effort you put in, others did and maybe more, but they did not see that great yield .  .  . It is the Lord that causes the yield. Selah

Give God the glory.

Glory to the Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
