THE LEADER'S PRAYER

Colossians 1:9-10

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

This should be the prayer of spiritual leaders into the live of all believers no matter from what extract they are from. The desire to see them grow in the knowledge of the will of God, to know the Lord better and better. Then that they should live lives that honour and please the Lord, that kind of life is the one that produces all kinds of good fruits.

Take a look around, listen to the supposed leaders in the Lord, is that what we see. What comes from the pulpit nowadays? What examples do they give? Are they good fathers to their own immediate family before attempting to be good fathers to a congregation? For even Paul who was not recorded as married emphasized this, you should know that it matters too. Never let the infiltration of the church by pagan practices of old confuse your mind on scriptural truths, the whole world may try to change a truth they cannot change God's truth. Selah.

Thus the decadence we have in our society. For yes we have sin in the world, what impact has the church made, being present in this same society?

When Jesus made this simple statement, do we really understand what He said:

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Do people come to the Lord or give God glory because of the lifestyle or works of the believer?

Listen to Christ make His own prayer as a leader:

John 17:15,17,20-23,26

I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.

Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.

I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.

I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”

All the blessings so that the world will know . . .

Is the live of believers today a light that shines to attract the lost to the Heavenly Father?

In contrast, do we see believers in the same mud that those in the world are in, or worse still people who are yet in the world having more integrity and good standing than supposed believers?

If the latter is so, then spiritual leaders have a lot of questions to answer.

Dear spiritual leader, what is your prayer? What is it that your heart longs for, the salvation of souls, the edification, growth and maturity of believers or is there another goal? Is there a different mandate than the one which Christ has set?

What is your prayer?

I see a lot of supposed spiritual leaders hanging unto acclaimed "laying of the hands of the presbyterian", hmm.

1Timothy 4:14

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

1 Timothy 4:14

Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you.

Now, this is a complete study on its own.

Many get puffed off, saying, this person laid hands on me, this person baptized me etc

Hmm

Thus they feel that there is no need to do deep study, research, meditation, prayers or even works to establish knowledge truth and correct teaching of the word. The truth is that they do not read the verses that surround verse 14 of 1Timothy.

1 Timothy 4:8-10,12-13,15-16

“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it.

This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.

Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them.

Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress.

Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

Read closely this seven(7) verses that surround the verse on the laying of hands and see that, there is work to be done, not just merely saying hands were laid on me.

Listen the same way Saul was anointed was the same way David was anointed, yet something was different, their hearts did not have the same commitment!

Leaders wake up, leaders wake up, leaders wake up!!!

Leave the titles and do the work!

Let me quickly repeat this that I always say, the first person to lead is yourself, the next person/people to lead is your immediate family. Wake up!

What is your prayer?

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
