LORD GIVE US GOOD LEADERS

Proverbs 29:2 When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan. Why? Romans 13:1-2 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. Now does this imply that all that rule on earth are chosen by God? No, because man do have a say in who leads them. Can anyone rule if God does not permit it? No, because no one can bring to pass if the Lord had not permitted it. However God expects us to respect authorities. Some say that the leadership of a nation is a reflection of the people in the nation, I will not totally agree, for to lead means you stand out of the crowd and possess something special including vision and special skills that make you stand out of the crowd. Listen to Jesus: Matthew 15:14 so ignore them. They are blind guides l

AS WE GATHER

Ephesians 1:10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. We should always have it in mind that all things will end, and when it does, we go to a better place without all the troubles and pains we face now. As we join other believers to worship, pray and study God's word, let us remember the reason we gather. The originator of our union. Christ Jesus. He promised that He prepares a place for us, that we might be with Him forever. Oh what great joy. John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. Whatever it is that would want to take away His dominance must be resisted, it must be all about Him. Thus even as we overlook the shortcomings of man, we never condone sin, filth or laziness, but encourage God's love, faithfulness and accountability. As we worship let it be about Him, let it be love H

HELP OTHERS

Romans 15:2 We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. That we build ourselves up spiritually is essential. We ought to grow everyday, for we do love ourselves. However our divine nature takes us further than that, it makes us buildup others (especially the weak). Romans 15:3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. If we are over conscious of self, we will be of benefit to no one, and thus would not display our divine nature from God. We will be unfruitful! Romans 15:6-7 Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. This is how we can be at peace with the brethren. What of those who have not believed? We keep interceding for them, inviting them to come into the great redemption which the Messiah had worked for all mankin

OUR REVELATION IN THE PSALMS

Psalm 85:13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set [us] in the way of his steps. When we read the Psalms we see more than just the singing of songs, or rhymes to poetry or writings. It is not just the memory of the experiences of the people of Israel or the happenings to David or the other kings of those times. We see revelation born out of true worship, praise and intercession to our Heavenly Father. The greatest of all being the prophesy of the revelation of the Messiah and the great things He will do for all people. This is why, the Messiah the Christ quoted from there, so did Paul and Peter and others who wrote. The old testament fulfilled in its revelation by the very Spirit of God, the Spirit of prophesy. For all scriptures testify of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. Halleluyah. John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. In Psalm 85 we see the declaration of God's mercy, forgiveness of sins and cl

WE ARE VICTORIOUS

Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. As long as our trust is in the Lord. We are not defined by whatever battle we fight, or the present situation, No, we have a fixed testimony and that is of victory. 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. We are spiritually like the eagle: Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint. When a powerful eagle exposes itself to the land below: Everyone begins to think it is in its place. Some foolishly take it is as common. Forgetting that the eagle still has its place at the high grounds. Don't take it for granted cause anything it lifts, either goes as a friend with it to greater heights or is dropped below to crash. For those who understand! Arise like an the eagle you are tod

SHINE TO QUENCH DARKNESS

John 1:4-5 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. In this world there are dark things that exists, we met them when we came into the world. Will they be finally blotted out? Yes, when the Lord brings an end to all things. So what do we do since we have to live here and fulfil purpose. We shine! How? We shine by reflecting the Light. Who is the Light? Christ Jesus. The call was for everyone to come under the cover of the Almighty, the same way Noah was asked to build the ark to protect anyone who believe and came in from the flood. Christ is that ark that shields us from the darkness of this world. Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has

JESUS KNOWS

Hebrews 2:18 Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested. The beauty of the salvation we have in Christ Jesus is that it is not abstract, He has experienced first hand what we experience. So He is not like an outsider who points at us from afar, NO, he dwelt among us, ate as we ate, felt as we feel and endured what we endure. John 1:14 So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. What audacity will a man who has never known an ailment have to console one who is going through it, saying he knows?  Is it hunger? He went through it.  Is it pain? He went through it.  Is it hate? He went through it.  Is it temptation? He went through it.  Is it abandonment? He went through it.  We may NOT be able to list it all, Christ Jesus went through it all for us.  Did He have to? No, yet He did.  John 10

WHO DOES IT?

Psalms 34:1 I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. Wise ones understand that it is the Heavenly Father that deserves praise. He gives the enablement for everything we achieve. We study, think, plan, take actions on opportunities for us to have success but we must remember: Psalms 127:1 Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted.  Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. Some will say that this person or that person did/do not acknowledge the Lord yet they are doing exploits.  We must understand that the default is that every man was made to do exploits, I emphasize "everyone". None that God created was made a waste. However, sin brought separation of man from God, thus man lost life, this is what Christ came to restore. So even after the fall and before Christ was revealed, man was living and doing things but with evil filled hearts, and this was not God's plan for man. Those who

HIS MERCY

Psalm 136:1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. It is really of the Lord's mercy that we are not consumed. For we know that man deserves His wrath, because of man's rebellious nature. Yet instead of throwing us away, He still reached out to us. Mercy said NO and love took our place! Who can claim perfection, who can say, they have not erred? Yet His mercy is released to us all. The Heavenly Father deserves our praise. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, In Psalm 136 the psalmist was listing out His power, the great power of the mighty God. You can do same too. Look back and see how powerful His mercy has been to you. Psalm 136:23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: Glory to God. So when

UNMASK

Luke 12:1b - 3 (message) "Watch yourselves carefully so you don't get contaminated with Pharisee yeast, Pharisee phoniness. You can't keep your true self hidden forever; before long you'll be exposed. You can't hide behind a religious mask forever; sooner or later the mask will slip and your true face will be known. You can't whisper one thing in private and preach the opposite in public; the day's coming when those whispers will be repeated all over town. One of the great evils that religious leaders practiced was hypocrisy, they say one think but they practice another, because what they say actually is not from their heart. It goes further to those who twist scriptures to fit their own selfish purpose, they are only interested in being relevant and having personal gains. Matthew 23:4-7 They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden. “Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer b

DON'T GIVE IN

Proverbs 10:2-3 Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life. The Lord will not let the godly go hungry, but he refuses to satisfy the craving of the wicked. This is the generation of wealth creation, almost all media has a large chunk of wealth creation seminars, shows, adverts and schemes. The hype is overwhelming, the sources are limitless and the push is provocative. Is the church left out? NO! It is even one of the most thriving hype centres. I used to worry about what the worshipper leaves the gathering with. A desire to know God more, to reach out to others who are yet to be saved and the desire to be good examples. Is that the case, or do they leave the gathering thinking of how to build generational wealth or how to make their first million? Does this imply that I am saying that building wealth for the believer is bad? NO. It is not the wealth that is the problem, it is the heart that is the issue. Jesus gave a parable about a rich fool after a man

GOD WHO PROSPERS US

Psalms 106:1 Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. As an episcopal, one of my best hymn was one written by Matthias Claudius in 1782 and given melody by Johann A. P. Schulz in 1800. The first verse and chorus goes thus: We plough the fields, and scatter the good seed on the land; But it is fed and watered by God's almighty hand: He sends the snow in winter, the warmth to swell the grain, The breezes and the sunshine, and soft refreshing rain.  All good gifts around us Are sent from heaven above, Then thank the Lord, O thank the Lord For all His love. It is truly the Lord that causes man to prosper. Of course we know that the enemy controls the world system and many have fallen under his deceit, however we never forget that: Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. It was man who actually submitted himself to the enemy's dominion when he acted in disobedience. For

ANGELS ON ASSIGNMENT

Psalms 91:11-12 For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. The Lord sent out Angels to carry out assignments in times of old, we see the examples from the time of Abraham till the birth of Christ when messages were brought to Zacharias, Joseph and Mary. It did not stop there for we see Angels on assignment when the disciples of Christ faced challenges, for instance: Acts of the Apostles 12:6-9 The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, he was asleep, fastened with two chains between two soldiers. Others stood guard at the prison gate. Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered. So Peter left

WHERE THE POWER IS

Matthew 28:18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. When the Lord says all, He means all, every power that exists both on earth and in all the heavens. Do you know what that means? Then why should I bother about any other power if I have allegiance with the one with all authority, not just a mere allegiance but a part of His family. John 1:12-13 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. Oh! if only we know what happens at the new birth. What begins when we believe and come to Him. 2 Corinthians 5:17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! It is because we do not leave the scene immediately when we get the new birth that we seem to forget or are ignorant of what we have become. Just like a cub springin

HE FIGHTS FOR US

Psalms 44:5-7 Only by your power can we push back our enemies; only in your name can we trample our foes. I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me. You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies; you disgrace those who hate us. We know that this is a world that is polluted with evil, that is the way it is till when the Lord Himself will bring it to and end and make all things new. Revelation 21:5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” What do we do? Are we left to face these enemies alone? No, as our opening verse says, the Lord will deal with them Himself. See what He said through prophet Isaiah: Isaiah 54:15  Behold, they shall surely gather together, [but] not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. So the gathering against God's own is not the problem, it is not strange, however it is a pi

REMEMBER WHAT HE HAS DONE

Psalms 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire.  He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. It is good to remember the wonderful work the Lord has done in your life. Instead of worrying about the mistakes and errors of the past, which will bring you down and reduce your zeal, think of how the Lord stepped in to give you victory. For our testimonies abound if we think of what He has done. It becomes an evidence and assurance that He will take care of the present situation. Thus, our faith is built up. Psalms 77:11-12 But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works. When we do th

CHRIST - THE JUDGE

Psalms 2:12 Submit to God’s royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities— for his anger flares up in an instant.  But what joy for all who take refuge in him! There is this man who was known to be a loving father, husband and a good neighbour. Let us call him Alfred. No one really knew what his job was, they always saw him dress formally pick up his bike and drive to work. When there is a holiday or during the weekend, he takes walks around the neighborhood, does some interaction with the community and then spends most of the time with his family indoors. Some tried to look down on him, some spread rumours about him, he did not seem to bother, he just never seemed to get annoyed. One popular individual in the community took it too far, let us call him Lawan, he encroached on Alfred's land, the case came up to the community and they took sides with the offender for he was popular in the community, Alfred let it pass. One day, Lawa

HIS PROMISE OF HEALTH & PROTECTION

Psalms 91:2-3 This I declare about the Lord:  He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. One of the privileges we enjoy as God's own is protection from the devices or traps of the enemy another is protection from deadly diseases. In Mark 16:18 when Jesus was about to leave the earth physically, He gave us who believe the great mandate and also stated some privileges we will have: Mark 16:15-18 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will

LEANING ON HIM FOR STRENGTH

Proverbs 3:7-8 Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. Many who ignore the Lord later find themselves seeking for Him in time of troubles. So many who have stubbornly resisted the gospel end up submitting in a difficult situation, such as being on the sick bed with no hope. We are not like that, we submit even when we have not seen, for our believe is of faith. We begin by faith, get to know him in faith and continue in faith. Hebrews 11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Just like a child accepts it's father, not knowing whether he is good or bad, if he is strong or weak, neither knowing whether there is love or not. No wonder Jesus said: Mark 10:15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will neve

COME OUT

Acts 2:40 Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!” The message of salvation involves separation from the sinful world. Letting go of the cultures and ways which do not please the Heavenly Father. Romans 12:1-2 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. For there is a way of the world, cultures and practices that do not please the Heavenly Father. We must understand something about man that God created, he was made in His image with the power of choice and that power could make or destroy Him. The kings of I

GOOD LIKE YOUR FATHER

Genesis 1:31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day. There is one thing we must have in mind, "it is the desire of our Heavenly Father that we should be like Him". He is good and He expects us to be good, we follow in His good nature. One of the attributes of the Heavenly Father's goodness is in the perfection of His work. What can be said of your works? Listen, the Psalmist sang: Psalms 118:23 This is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful to see. Look at those who walked with the Heavenly Father in scriptures, their works were wonderful to behold, is it when they worked in spiritual positions, Joseph and Daniel in interpretation of dreams and giving wise counsel; or the prophets when they delivered God's message or did miracles. Their works were commendable when they were in political positions, Joseph and Daniel are still very good examples, no blemish was found in their work

KEEP IT UP

Titus 3:8  [This is] a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. So much about what we should not do, what of what we should keep doing? We should continue doing good works. For we know some have gone astray, some have taken the grace of God for granted, however, you, yes, you, have remained faithful. Your soul has not desired iniquity, you are filled with God's love and your desire is always to please Him and be a blessing to your generation: CONTINUE. Do you know why Christ came, it is NOT for us to continue or be licenced to do wrong as some people wrongly insinuate, NO, listen: Titus 2:14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. So where did that brother or sister who continues in sin or hate get their salvation from? That is wh

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST

Romans 1:4-6 and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ was to bring into the realm of sonship, a great position which man had that made the enemy envious of him. Psalms 8:4-6 what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority— So it looked so foolish for Adam to have allowed all that glory slip from him by falling for a cheap trick of the enemy. The question is, what

GOOD LEADERSHIP - TEACH, TRAIN, MENTOR and IMPART

Matthew 5:1-2 One day as he saw the crowds gathering, Jesus went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples gathered around him, and he began to teach them. One of the most important part of leadership is teaching/training. It is not just enough to watch/observe it is necessary to receive instructions and to ask questions so as to receive answers. Assumption has led a lot of people to stay stereotype to things they do not understand and in trying to keep an assumed sacred knowledge to self we may cause people to err when they give wrong interpretation to actions. This is why I love the new testament scriptures, looking through the gospels we see that we receive knowledge from answers given to questions: Mark 4:10 Later, when Jesus was alone with the twelve disciples and with the others who were gathered around, they asked him what the parables meant. Mark 13:3-4 Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives across the valley from the Temple. Peter, James, John, and Andrew came to him

DON'T GIVE UP YOUR PRAISE

Psalms 30:12 that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O  Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever! For what will you give up your praise? Tribulations, trials, temptations or the action of people?  Don't give up your praise! Every challenge we face is just for a while, it will pass away, what you do during those times is what matters. This is why we do not live by the flesh but by the Spirit. We remember the testimony of Paul and Silas, there response to being imprisoned for preaching the good news was praise. Even in older scriptures the three friends of Daniel were thrown into super heated flames, what was their reaction? Daniel 3:21-26 So they tied them up and threw them into the furnace, fully dressed in their pants, turbans, robes, and other garments. And because the king, in his anger, had demanded such a hot fire in the furnace, the flames killed the soldiers as they threw the three men in. So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, securely tied, fell into the roarin

THOSE WHO WAIT

Psalms 40:1,3-4 I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols. The testimony of those who trust in the Lord is that after a little while they have cause to sing songs of victory and thanksgiving. All through scriptures we see these songs being sung because of the Lord's deliverance of His people. The greatest of all the songs of celebration was that which was sang, not by man, but by the Heavenly hosts, when the final source of deliverance was revealed - Christ was born: Luke 2:13-14 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” Praise comes from thos

WALK IN HIS PATH

1 Peter 3:10-12 For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers.  But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.” You cannot walk in the ways that oppose God's precepts and expect to be covered by Him. It is that simple, for why would you walk in disobedience and expect the fruit of obedience, it doesn't work that way. Psalms 1:1-2,6 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction. We must not be decieved when it seems those who do evil prosper, they don't, all is not
