CHRIST - THE JUDGE

Psalms 2:12

Submit to God’s royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities— for his anger flares up in an instant. 

But what joy for all who take refuge in him!

There is this man who was known to be a loving father, husband and a good neighbour. Let us call him Alfred. No one really knew what his job was, they always saw him dress formally pick up his bike and drive to work. When there is a holiday or during the weekend, he takes walks around the neighborhood, does some interaction with the community and then spends most of the time with his family indoors.

Some tried to look down on him, some spread rumours about him, he did not seem to bother, he just never seemed to get annoyed. One popular individual in the community took it too far, let us call him Lawan, he encroached on Alfred's land, the case came up to the community and they took sides with the offender for he was popular in the community, Alfred let it pass.

One day, Lawan the very well known man in the community had a case to answer in court, he was accused of a crime. On the day of the hearing many people from the community were present to hear his case. Then came the announcement, all were to rise (stand), the judge was about to come in. All eyes went to the entrance and here walks Alfred fully clothed as a judge, the people in the community gazed with wonder. They never expected it.

Revelation 1:7-8

Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. 

And everyone will see him— even those who pierced him. 

And all the nations of the world will mourn for him. 

Yes! Amen!

“I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”

Christ of whom we preach today is the loving Saviour, the One who loves man so much that He gave His life for man. He came from the Father, yes the begotten son bearing the very nature of the Heavenly Father - LOVE.

He resurrected by the power of the Heavenly Father and ascended to glory - sitted at the right hand of the Father. He will return but this time as a JUDGE!

Matthew 28:18

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

John 5:22-23

In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge, so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.

The question is, what is your relationship with this Judge?

Are you on the wrong side of the law?

What is the law?

Do I have immunity?

Romans 8:1-2

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

We must remember that He said He will return, when, we do not know, however, the moment we leave this earth our judgement is passed, we must always be ready. For either He comes or we leave, whichever comes first, we must be winners.

1 Corinthians 1:8-9

He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Glory to God.

We are helped of the Lord, we are immune to judgement for we are hid in the righteous judge, we are not law breakers, our righteousness surpasses that of the law. Halleluyah
