LORD GIVE US GOOD LEADERS

Proverbs 29:2

When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.

Why?

Romans 13:1-2

Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.

So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.

Now does this imply that all that rule on earth are chosen by God? No, because man do have a say in who leads them.

Can anyone rule if God does not permit it? No, because no one can bring to pass if the Lord had not permitted it.

However God expects us to respect authorities.

Some say that the leadership of a nation is a reflection of the people in the nation, I will not totally agree, for to lead means you stand out of the crowd and possess something special including vision and special skills that make you stand out of the crowd.

Listen to Jesus:

Matthew 15:14

so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.”

So we pray and speak into the leadership process, be it for our country, state, local government and wards, business organizations, churches and other leadership hubs, that above all, God's will be done.

For it takes a good leader to arise for a nation's course to turn around. Great leaders make a great nation for the stir the ship and determines its course, they motive and compel the people to follow the course.

Truly a people need mentorship, they want someone to look up to, who will lead them on the journey.

God Himself is the greatest of all leaders and His intension for all who follow Him, is to lead them to a good end.

For Jeremiah prophesied:

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

This should be the aim of every leader - they cause the people to prosper.

What kind of leaders do we have today? What examples do they portray? Are they building the nation or destroying it? What business does a leader have with corruption except to deal decisively with those who perpetuate it.

Romans 13:3-7

For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you.

The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong.

So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.

Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do.

Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.

If these great teachings are properly taught by our so called clergy and ministers will people who are acclaimed christians take up leadership positions to loot the common wealth? Will we have security agents taking bribe in broad daylight with no shame or fear? Will we have thieves walking freely even taking up leadership positions and oppressing others?

The church should arise, enough of all these chasing of shadows, fake miracles, sentiments and false hopes, leaving the people chasing the wind. Let us wake up from these madness and do the right thing. Can we do the right thing for once?

While we do our civic duty, we should not forget our spiritual role, praying God's will to come to pass. For in the place of prayers we take control.

However, everyone is a leader of themselves, then of their home, then their cycle of influence before they try the bigger community. As believers we must set the example of good leadership. We must stop giving in to the flesh. In the time of the old testament, people who obeyed God became great leaders not just in Israel but in foreign lands. Can we say the same for the church today?

Ask yourself, that little leadership position you hold, even if it is over your children, how have you led?

Ministers, pastors, GOs arise, wake up from your sleep, be disillusioned from the mass rush for wealth, relevance and vain competitions. Remember, what the Lord will ask you to account for are the souls you ought to watch over, edify and teach not these things you pursue. Selah

The decay in the society is getting messier, we canNOT go on like this, great leadership must arise.

Help us Good Lord.

It is well with our nation.

He calls us blessed.

Love
