OUR REVELATION IN THE PSALMS

Psalm 85:13

Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set [us] in the way of his steps.

When we read the Psalms we see more than just the singing of songs, or rhymes to poetry or writings. It is not just the memory of the experiences of the people of Israel or the happenings to David or the other kings of those times.

We see revelation born out of true worship, praise and intercession to our Heavenly Father. The greatest of all being the prophesy of the revelation of the Messiah and the great things He will do for all people.

This is why, the Messiah the Christ quoted from there, so did Paul and Peter and others who wrote. The old testament fulfilled in its revelation by the very Spirit of God, the Spirit of prophesy. For all scriptures testify of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. Halleluyah.

John 5:39

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

In Psalm 85 we see the declaration of God's mercy, forgiveness of sins and cleansing.

Psalm 85:2

Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

1John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Psalm 85:7

Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:18

And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Psalm 85:9

Surely his salvation [is] nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

We are not perfect/changed yet, for it has to be in His coming:

1John 3:2

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

However He did not leave us alone, He made us a part of His kingdom, we are joint heirs with Christ Jesus, though we are not yet there, we live as citizens, we are the extension of His kingdom here on earth. He gave us His Holy Spirit as a seal and witness.

We see the revelation of God's kingdom, yes the release of His Spirit:

Psalm 85:10

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed [each other].

Yes that is the revelation of God's kingdom:

Romans 14:17

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Glory to God, yes we were brought into God's kingdom.

We must also be careful that we do not loose that which has been given. How can we have such a great salvation and then turn back to foolishness?

Psalm 85:8

I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

Hebrews 10:38-39

Now the just shall live by faith: but if [any man] draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

A great thing the Lord has done for us, we will not take it for granted. We will take full advantage of this sonship, we will fulfill purpose, we will bring Him glory. Halleluyah

Let all the earth give Him praise, for He will yet make all things right again.

Psalms 85:11-13

Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness smiles down from heaven.

Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings. Our land will yield its bountiful harvest.

Righteousness goes as a herald before him, preparing the way for his steps.

We are the benefactors of these great revelations. Let us give praise to Him who made us worthy.

He calls us blessed.
