THOSE WHO WAIT
Psalms 40:1,3-4
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.
He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.
Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.
The testimony of those who trust in the Lord is that after a little while they have cause to sing songs of victory and thanksgiving.
All through scriptures we see these songs being sung because of the Lord's deliverance of His people.
The greatest of all the songs of celebration was that which was sang, not by man, but by the Heavenly hosts, when the final source of deliverance was revealed - Christ was born:
Luke 2:13-14
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
Praise comes from those who understand, for at the time the Heavenly hosts were praising the Heavenly Father on behalf of man, man was not aware of what was being done for him.
This year we will have songs of praise on our lips for the Lord will visit us with His victories. All we need do is to wait on Him.
Waiting on the Lord is not idling away, NO, but listening and obeying until that which we wait on Him for, comes to pass. We do not allow the gimmicks of the enemy or the mirage of the world get the better of us.
Remember the prophesy:
Isaiah 40:31 (message)
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind.
Glory to God in the highest.
He calls us blessed.
Love
