IT IS FINISHED

Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:10 "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. John 17:4 "I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. We do not to keep struggling with religion, with the law, with sin, with death, with fear, with the former things. No! There is good news, IT IS FINISHED. * it is not in progress, He has done it * he is not saving us, He has already saved us * He is not working it out, he has already worked it out. * He is not fighting the enemy, He has already defeated him on the cross, so we need not negotiat

DON'T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED

2 Kings 13:4-5 Then Jehoahaz prayed for the Lord’s help, and the Lord heard his prayer, for he could see how severely the king of Aram was oppressing Israel. So the Lord provided someone to rescue the Israelites from the tyranny of the Arameans. Then Israel lived in safety again as they had in former days. When God introduced Himself to Moses He said: Exodus 34:6 The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out,  “Yahweh! The Lord!  The God of compassion and mercy!  I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. The very nature of God is Love, compassion and mercy. He is faithful. However, when He shows us these bountifulness, do we take it for granted? Look through the kings that had ruled in Israel, they all walked in wickedness sinning against God, reign after reign starting from Jeroboam, then we see Ahab etc. It was because of this evil that the Lord allowed their enemies to take advantage of them: 2 Kings 13:2-3 But he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. He

THE SACRIFICE

1 John 2:2 He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. Many, most times, take for granted what they receive. One reason they do, is that they do not know how much was sacrificed to meet that need. Romans 8:32  "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" John 1:1-2, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Most people, even some who have believed, do not know how much the presence of the Son in the Father's bosom meant to God. John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the

MINISTRY, MONEY and the FAITHFUL

(read patiently) 2 Kings 12:2,4-6,8-12,14-15 All his life Joash did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight because Jehoiada the priest instructed him. One day King Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money brought as a sacred offering to the lord’s Temple, whether it is a regular assessment, a payment of vows, or a voluntary gift. Let the priests take some of that money to pay for whatever repairs are needed at the Temple.” But by the twenty-third year of Joash’s reign, the priests still had not repaired the Temple. So the priests agreed not to accept any more money from the people, and they also agreed to let others take responsibility for repairing the Temple. Then Jehoiada the priest bored a hole in the lid of a large chest and set it on the right-hand side of the altar at the entrance of the Temple of the Lord. The priests guarding the entrance put all of the people’s contributions into the chest. Whenever the chest became full, the court secretary and the high priest counte

NEVER CHOOSE EVIL

2 Kings 11:1-3,12,14,16 When Athaliah, the mother of King Ahaziah of Judah, learned that her son was dead, she began to destroy the rest of the royal family. But Ahaziah’s sister Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram, took Ahaziah’s infant son, Joash, and stole him away from among the rest of the king’s children, who were about to be killed. She put Joash and his nurse in a bedroom, and they hid him from Athaliah, so the child was not murdered. Joash remained hidden in the Temple of the lord for six years while Athaliah ruled over the land. Then Jehoiada brought out Joash, the king’s son, placed the crown on his head, and presented him with a copy of God’s laws. They anointed him and proclaimed him king, and everyone clapped their hands and shouted, “Long live the king!” When she arrived, she saw the newly crowned king standing in his place of authority by the pillar, as was the custom at times of coronation. The commanders and trumpeters were surrounding him, and people from all ove

COME BACK TO GOD

Psalm 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest. Psalm 41:4  I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. David a man after God's heart allowed himself fall into temptation and he sinned and then sinned again. The punishment did come and they were grave. The issue was he ran back to God. It was like: "that no matter what it is I stay with God". 2Samuel 24:14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies [are] great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. John in 1John teaches that we cannot sin, that since we are born of God we are not bound by sin anymore. Sin is of the devil. However if we do sin: 1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the rig

HELP !!!

Psalm 121:1  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Help is what everyone would need time and again. No one can tell a complete story of their success without naming people who had helped them along the way. As believers, one time we need help is when we err or go into an eclipse. Remember no believer should think that we may not face this kind of challenge because we do have an enemy. Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired [to have] you, that he may sift [you] as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Yes we could say he was not filled with the Spirit then, but when we go through the later scriptures we see temptation on the disciples after the outpouring of the Spirit. Help is needed! Matthew 4:1 & 11 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and minis

KNOW THE WORD

John 1:1,4 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The Word is God, by the Word the world was created, everything originates from the Word. The scriptures are the revelation of the Word. 2Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We live in an age where people are more of the seeking for manifestation. Many do not seek to know but just to enjoy a brief manifestation, a glimpse of a miracle, a little glory. Wait! it is more than that. You need to know, to understand by learning, studying and listening to the things of the Spirit. That is when it stays and remains. Let us look at Jesus our example. Luke 2:46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questi

The Little Things

Luke 16:10 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. Let us be reminded today not to neglect the little things that make up the whole. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. The things that matter in this life are a collection of little things we do that really do matter. A great rock can be brought down by continually chopping off small pieces. Let us not drop those "little things" * discipline * routines * efforts * readings * prayers * study of the word * worship * show of love * encouragement * planning * investments * sowing/planting * miracles * inventing * advice * counselling * givings * teachin

THE EAGLE ANALOGY

Isaiah  40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint. When a powerful eagle exposes itself to the land below: Everyone begins to think it is in its place. Some foolishly take it is as common. Forgetting that the eagle still has its place at the high grounds. Don't take it for granted cause anything it lifts, either goes as a friend with it to greater heights or is dropped below to crash. For those who understand! Arise like an the eagle you are today, shake off the dust and soar to the great height, no matter the storm or rain the high is your aim and nothing can stop you. All the distractions, weaknesses, failures are gone with yesterday. Today you win. Isaiah 49:11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted. Glory to God! PRAYER You are above Loving Father so I am associated with the above. I soar in gr

The Christian Character

2 Kings 10:16 Then Jehu said, “Now come with me, and see how devoted I am to the lord.” So Jehonadab rode along with him.  David was one of those people that were privileged to sit in the office of a prophet. He also testified of the revelation of Yeshua, Jesus the Christ. He received revelation on the character of the believer: Psalms 15:1-5 Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the lord, and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever. As simple as this description may be, many of us still fall short of these good characters. Why? James 1:14-16 Temptati

YET GIVE GOD GLORY

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Looking around through the recent years: Yes. . . * We have requests * We have some things bothering us * We have a big project, job or assignment on our hands needing to be completed  * There may be an issue in the family * We may need a financial provision urgently * There may be someone who needs healing * We may have a matter to settle or an issue to resolve * Someone may have hurt or annoyed us * We await news, or wait for a report * We just want to free from all the burdens . . . .yes and maybe others not mentioned. You may be tempted to give up or just stop trusting God. Notwithstanding, today we need to lay them all aside and just acknowledge Him who made us to see today, give Him praise, worship Him, give

DO NOT CHOSE EVIL

Isaiah 57:21 [There is] no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. It has always been this way, the wicked are always faced with God's wrath. 2 Kings 9:25-26,33-37 Jehu said to Bidkar, his officer, “Throw him into the plot of land that belonged to Naboth of Jezreel. Do you remember when you and I were riding along behind his father, Ahab? The Lord pronounced this message against him: ‘I solemnly swear that I will repay him here on this plot of land, says the Lord, for the murder of Naboth and his sons that I saw yesterday.’ So throw him out on Naboth’s property, just as the Lord said.” “Throw her down!” Jehu yelled. So they threw her out the window, and her blood spattered against the wall and on the horses. And Jehu trampled her body under his horses’ hooves. Then Jehu went into the palace and ate and drank. Afterward he said, “Someone go and bury this cursed woman, for she is the daughter of a king.” But when they went out to bury her, they found only her skull, her feet, and her han

DON'T DOUBT GOD

2 Kings 7:1-2 Elisha replied, “Listen to this message from the Lord! This is what the Lord says: By this time tomorrow in the markets of Samaria, six quarts of choice flour will cost only one piece of silver, and twelve quarts of barley grain will cost only one piece of silver.” The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, “That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven!”But Elisha replied, “You will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won’t be able to eat any of it!” I always say that it is not in all things that the Lord God interferes in the affairs of man. There are things that the Lord has designed as default and the structure as such that it will not fail and order will be maintained. Genesis 8:21-22 And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destro

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? ( a reminder)

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. Trusting God is actually the lifestyle of the believer. The portion of the verse of prophesy we see in Isaiah 26:3 spoke of the difficult part. . . "whose mind is stayed on thee" ... It brings us to the revelation through Apostle Paul: Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. The renewing of the mind is a change from that which we have learnt from the world to that which the spirit of God breeds in us. That is, our mind is on Christ Jesus, we are transformed to His person day after day. 2 Corinthians 5:17(NLT) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! However we wonder if every believer had this experience! When one speaks and you feel bitterness, hatred

PAYBACK (a reminder)

Psalm 109:5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. In the last days the scriptures prophesied that there would be betrayals among brethren. Many would breech trusts that ought to reign in relationships for moments of pleasure, greed and selfishness. One reason this would happen is that in these latter days, many would develop "itching ears" they would not endure sound doctrine. 2Timothy 4 : 3 & 4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. The fear of God has been removed and replaced with the chase for prosperity, relevance and religion. Forgetting that we would all give account. Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil. Many pray, fast and do church things but

Miracle Money

2 Kings 4:1-7 One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, “My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.” “What can I do to help you?” Elisha asked. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?”“Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied. And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled.” So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. Soon every container was full to the brim!“Bring me another jar,” she said to one of her sons.“There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing. When she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her, “Now sell the olive oil and pay

STAY CONNECTED

2 Kings 3:10-12,14 “What should we do?” the king of Israel cried out. “The Lord has brought the three of us here to let the king of Moab defeat us.” But King Jehoshaphat of Judah asked, “Is there no prophet of the lord with us? If there is, we can ask the Lord what to do through him.”One of King Joram’s officers replied, “Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to be Elijah’s personal assistant.” Jehoshaphat said, “Yes, the Lord speaks through him.” So the king of Israel, King Jehoshaphat of Judah, and the king of Edom went to consult with Elisha. Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, I wouldn’t even bother with you except for my respect for King Jehoshaphat of Judah. Listen, do not disconnect yourself from God no matter what is happening in the world be it good or bad. Do not wait till you face a challenge for you to know how important your maker is to you. King Joram came from a line of kings who had lived a sinful life, doing things that were not pleasi

HOW TO GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL

2 Kings 2:1,6,10,12,14 When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were traveling from Gilgal. Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to the Jordan River.”But again Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you.” So they went on together. “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah replied. “If you see me when I am taken from you, then you will get your request. But if not, then you won’t.” Elisha saw it and cried out, “My father! My father! I see the chariots and charioteers of Israel!” And as they disappeared from sight, Elisha tore his clothes in distress. He struck the water with Elijah’s cloak and cried out, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” Then the river divided, and Elisha went across. Remember that Elijah had asked to be excused after his encounter with Jezebel. Well notice that the Lord did not take him immediately but asked him to go anoint his replacem

WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

2 Kings 1:3,15-16 But the angel of the Lord told Elijah, who was from Tishbe, “Go and confront the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is there no God in Israel? Why are you going to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, to ask whether the king will recover? Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, “Go down with him, and don’t be afraid of him.” So Elijah got up and went with him to the king. And Elijah said to the king, “This is what the Lord says: Why did you send messengers to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, to ask whether you will recover? Is there no God in Israel to answer your question? Therefore, because you have done this, you will never leave the bed you are lying on; you will surely die.” What is it with us and running around, we jump from one pastor to another, one event to another, miracle service here and there, then some now complicate matters by going to seers(even some acclaimed prophets are just mere seers) and various mediums. When Jesus spoke to the woman of Sa

BE CORRECTABLE

1 Kings 22:8-9 The king of Israel replied to Jehoshaphat, “There is one more man who could consult the Lord for us, but I hate him. He never prophesies anything but trouble for me! His name is Micaiah son of Imlah.”Jehoshaphat replied, “That’s not the way a king should talk! Let’s hear what he has to say.” So the king of Israel called one of his officials and said, “Quick! Bring Micaiah son of Imlah.” Many have refused to keep the right company because they do not want to hear the truth, they prefer to listen to flattery and anything that gives them the illusion that all is well. Our reading in 1Kings 21 tells us about Ahab, he was to go to war against Syria (which was just an idle thought, but no, it was more than that). He invited Jehoshaphat the king of Judah to join him to war. 1 Kings 22:4 Then he turned to Jehoshaphat and asked, “Will you join me in battle to recover Ramoth-gilead?”Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, “Why, of course! You and I are as one. My troops are you

GOD WILL NOT . . .

1 Kings 21:3-4,14-16 But Naboth replied, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance that was passed down by my ancestors.” So Ahab went home angry and sullen because of Naboth’s answer. The king went to bed with his face to the wall and refused to eat! The town leaders then sent word to Jezebel, “Naboth has been stoned to death.” When Jezebel heard the news, she said to Ahab, “You know the vineyard Naboth wouldn’t sell you? Well, you can have it now! He’s dead!” So Ahab immediately went down to the vineyard of Naboth to claim it. Listen, if you did evil to get that thing you lusted after, be wise enough NOT to include God into the equation! The Heavenly Father will not support your wickedness no matter how much you paint it to look good. Hiding it is foolishness for you cannot hide anything from Him. Listen, Achan stole items that they were instructed not to take, he didn't go unpunished. Even the man after God's heart caused the death of a man to take his wife he

WHAT IS GOD SAYING?

Genesis 35:11 And God said unto him, I [am] God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; What is God saying about this? What is God's will? What step should I take? Questions keep raging in our hearts over different issues, we want answers and very well we do.  2Timothy 3:16-17  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,  that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. The word of God still remains potent and keeps us in tune with what the Father says. The Holy Spirit gives us deep interpretation and also the wisdom to apply. A believer who is conversant with the word of God would easily understand what God says at each point in time. When Jesus arose and read the scripture prophesying about Himself, he said that the scriptures were fulfilled in the presence of the people

DON'T LIMIT GOD

1 Kings 20:23-25,29-30 After their defeat, Ben-hadad’s officers said to him, “The Israelite gods are gods of the hills; that is why they won. But we can beat them easily on the plains. Only this time replace the kings with field commanders! Recruit another army like the one you lost. Give us the same number of horses, chariots, and men, and we will fight against them on the plains. There’s no doubt that we will beat them.” So King Ben-hadad did as they suggested. The two armies camped opposite each other for seven days, and on the seventh day the battle began. The Israelites killed 100,000 Aramean foot soldiers in one day. The rest fled into the town of Aphek, but the wall fell on them and killed another 27,000. Ben-hadad fled into the town and hid in a secret room. One mistake the opposition makes is to limit our God, it is a great mistake for they always end up finding out the hard way. Most of the experiences the children of Israel had were the move of angels, the power influenced b

FIGHTING OUR BATTLES

1 Kings 20:2-3,13,21 Ben-hadad sent messengers into the city to relay this message to King Ahab of Israel: “This is what Ben-hadad says: ‘Your silver and gold are mine, and so are your wives and the best of your children!’” Then a certain prophet came to see King Ahab of Israel and told him, “This is what the Lord says: Do you see all these enemy forces? Today I will hand them all over to you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” However, the king of Israel destroyed the other horses and chariots and slaughtered the Arameans. The children of Israel were God's chosen people, however they were not faithful, from the king on the throne to many who went the way of idolatry. However, God decided to deal with king Ben-hadad and his allies who came against Israel. It was not that Ahab or the people were worthy or deserved this help, but God decided to preserve His people all the same. Remember who God is,  from how He introduced Himself to Moses: Exodus 34:6 The Lord passed in front o

WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?

1 Kings 19:9-10,13 There he came to a cave, where he spent the night. But the Lord said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” When the Lord asks you a question like that, you know then that you are in the wrong place! *"Adam where are you? *"Cain, where is your brother? *"Elijah what are you doing here? Let us get the context. Elijah was a prophet of the Lord and God used him mightily, he stopped the rain from Israel for three years and was able to call it back, he whipped out all the prophets of Baal after he could call down fire to gulp an offering overflowing with water on different sides of trenches. He did all these face to face with the king of Israel at that time who was seeking his head, king Ahab. He outran king Ahab's chariot we are talking of a whopping 38miles/hr approximately for a king's
