WHERE ARE YOU GOING?
2 Kings 1:3,15-16
But the angel of the Lord told Elijah, who was from Tishbe, “Go and confront the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is there no God in Israel? Why are you going to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, to ask whether the king will recover?
Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, “Go down with him, and don’t be afraid of him.” So Elijah got up and went with him to the king.
And Elijah said to the king, “This is what the Lord says: Why did you send messengers to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, to ask whether you will recover? Is there no God in Israel to answer your question? Therefore, because you have done this, you will never leave the bed you are lying on; you will surely die.”
What is it with us and running around, we jump from one pastor to another, one event to another, miracle service here and there, then some now complicate matters by going to seers(even some acclaimed prophets are just mere seers) and various mediums.
When Jesus spoke to the woman of Samaria at the side of the Jacob's well, it gives us a clear understanding of what the Lord wants from us.
John 4:21,23-26
Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem.
But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.
For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
The woman said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
Then Jesus told her, “i am the Messiah!”
The people had been in a state of confusion for so long. They were expecting the Messiah to come to clear all the confusion and make them understand.
He came, but they didn't listen!!!
With all the revelations we have revealed in God's word many are yet to get the basics, the starting point.
Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment.
A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
That is the starting point, your love for God. not love for a certain denomination, religion, pastor or minister, spirit or being, mammon, a place, site or anything else.
Your love of God will keep you fellowshipping with Him, not minding your location. It is you and Him first then other things.
It is funny that as a child your father is with you at home and you have a problem you then go outside your house looking for who will help you.
As absurd as it sounds, that is what king Ahaziah did. The same thing many supposed believers have been doing.
Where are you always running to, what is that mountain, valley, religious site, church building, location, denomination, religion that you are chasing after?
Do you know God, do you know that if You are His, He lives in You by His Holy Spirit.
Wake up!
Get out of the delusion.
It is this same ignorance or conscious resistance that makes us do the terrible things we do without being conscious that we are not alone God's Spirit is with us.
If we have this consciousness, we will not think, say or do so many things we do.
Where are you going?
God is not lost.
He is here!
And if you have believed, He is in You.
Stop and Listen.
O help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Loving Father, keep me in the consciousness of You in me. Let me be led by Your Spirit to always do that which pleases You and be a blessing to my society. I am Yours Lord, glorify Yourself in me. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
