WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?

1 Kings 19:9-10,13

There he came to a cave, where he spent the night.

But the Lord said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

When the Lord asks you a question like that, you know then that you are in the wrong place!

*"Adam where are you?

*"Cain, where is your brother?

*"Elijah what are you doing here?

Let us get the context. Elijah was a prophet of the Lord and God used him mightily, he stopped the rain from Israel for three years and was able to call it back, he whipped out all the prophets of Baal after he could call down fire to gulp an offering overflowing with water on different sides of trenches. He did all these face to face with the king of Israel at that time who was seeking his head, king Ahab. He outran king Ahab's chariot we are talking of a whopping 38miles/hr approximately for a king's chariot at that time, remember that the king was hurrying away not to get caught in the rain.

Here is the twist, he ran away because of a threat from the queen of that time Jezebel!

1 Kings 19:1-2

When Ahab got home, he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way he had killed all the prophets of Baal.

So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”

Yes, the situation was dicey, however Elijah should have known God enough to understand that He would fight his battle.

So we learn from Elijah.

Do not ever look at the enormity of the challenge instead focus on the Magnificent God who is above all and all powerful. Let Him show You your next move.

Do not think you are the only one, No, the Lord will always have his own.

1 Kings 19:18

Yet I will preserve 7,000 others in Israel who have never bowed down to Baal or kissed him!”

Do not resign before your time, remember that it is the caller that is also the doer:

1 Kings 19:4

Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

Finally, always be in the right place.

Being in the right place is not always about position in the physical but most importantly, your position in the spirit.

Elijah was like a Lord in Israel, but he succumbed to the threat of a woman, yes an evil woman.

Look at the three Hebrew boys:

Daniel 3:16-18

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you.

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty.

But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”

These young men where not even prophets!

Look at some of the so called prophets of today, what are they busy doing, calling names of people, fortune-telling people's phone numbers, exploring their kitchen, making presumed magic money or alerts, just a bunch of charlatans! They have no clue what the ministry of prophesy was about in the old testament, neither do they understand the role of the prophet after the release of the Holy Spirit.

May we not be confused or deceived by these many frauds calling the name of Christ.

As hard as it may seem, these truths must be told, the church must not be made a mockery.

So, what are you doing here?

Are you in the right place.

Will the Lord find you where He expects you to be, or have you left your duty post.

Have you left God to serve man, no matter their title?

Are you just full of complains?

Have you made mammon your God?

Where will God find you?

O help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Loving Father, keep me located where you want me to be, may I not leave my duty post. Then keep promoting me Father to the next level. No one died for me, You did Lord, I give my heart to no one but You. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore

He calls us blessed.

Love
