KEEP THE FIRE BURNING

Exodus 27:20-21 “Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually. The lampstand will stand in the Tabernacle, in front of the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant. Aaron and his sons must keep the lamps burning in the Lord’s presence all night. This is a permanent law for the people of Israel, and it must be observed from generation to generation. How did the first family who had direct interaction with the Heavenly Father, though we know they left His presence because of disobedience, but how did the people after them all lose their interaction with God so much that the whole world had to be wiped away? The fire was no longer burning. Remember what God said when He chose Abraham. Genesis 18:19 I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.” Once the fire stops

THE UNAPPROACHABLE IS NOW "COME BOLDLY"

Exodus 26:33-34(kjv) And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy [place] and the most holy. And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy [place]. The mercy seat was placed in the most holy place, the place unaccessible to the natural man, even the priest has to be careful going in that they may not die. Leviticus 16:2  And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy [place] within the vail before the mercy seat, which [is] upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. Even for the anointed priest at that time, they dare not come into the most holy place, special arrangement had to be made for them to go in and as some recorded a chain had to be tied to their feet with bells to ensure that they could be dragged out if the died i

TAKE TIME OUT

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Do you know that you could be overwhelmed by following the asking syndrome? We could get carried away and go on daily, complaining, asking, interceding, fighting and doing other thinks we think are necessary. We ought not to forget to take time out just to reflect on God's goodness and thus GIVE THANKS. Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; You will indeed marvel, when you take time out to reflect on all the Lord has been to you. You hear of crises here and there, you see people who desire to enjoy a bit of what you enjoy. Appreciate how far the Lord has brought you. 1Thessalonians 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Do you know what privilege you enjoy because you know God and you are known of Him? Psalm 30:4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give than

THE TABERNACLE

Exodus 26:1-2,7-8 “Make the Tabernacle from ten curtains of finely woven linen. Decorate the curtains with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim. These ten curtains must all be exactly the same size—42 feet long and 6 feet wide. “Make eleven curtains of goat-hair cloth to serve as a tent covering for the Tabernacle. These eleven curtains must all be exactly the same size—45 feet long and 6 feet wide. There was need to prepare the tabernacle, the place where the people could come meet the Lord. Moses received instructions on how it would be built. It was a blue print for the eventual building of the temple when they settle in the promise land. Today the equivalent will be the buildings built for us to gather and worship God. We see them here and their, gigantic cathedrals and smaller buildings that accommodates people who come to worship the Lord. It is important to have such edifices where people can come to fellowship, however we must understand tha

FOR GOD - BRING BACK THE ALTAR

Exodus 26:30,34 “Set up this Tabernacle according to the pattern you were shown on the mountain. “Then put the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—on top of the Ark of the Covenant inside the Most Holy Place. Ephesians 6:8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether [he be] bond or free. We live in a world were love has been confused with foolishness and everyone seeks to take advantage of the other. Thus the bible talks of the love of many going cold. Trust seems to be an alien word because most times it is said but never practiced, people keep stabbing "their own" at the back. 2 Timothy 3:1-5a You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander othe

OBEDIENT

Exodus 25:40 “Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain. From the beginning of creation, man had one bond with the Heavenly Father, the bond that will keep man continually close to God, that bond was in man's obedience. Ofcourse if Adam had not disobeyed there would have been no fall. Imagine what would have happened if Noah refused to follow God's instructions: Genesis 6:14-15,22 “Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior. Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him. Most likely the boat would not have survived the flood! Many have complains and arguments about how this or that was God's fault, oh why did God let this or that to happen. They would never want to talk about our part as humans. The part of obedience. The Heavenly Father has called everyone i

ARK OF THE COVENANT

Exodus 25:10,22 “Have the people make an Ark of acacia wood—a sacred chest 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high. I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel. When you encounter the Lord, there is always a memorial, we see this with Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob etc. There is a reference point, where the covenant is established. For us after Christ was revealed, we call it the day of our salvation. It is the point of new birth and the revelation you received of the Lord. It does not end with the one day experience, we continue this encounter as we go from one stage/level to another. We must not forget the ark of the covenant, it is the symbol of our first love and our reference point as we go on in the journey of life. The children of Israel were to carry the ark of the covenant anywhere they went and finally place i

GIVING TO THE LORD

Exodus 25:2 “Tell the people of Israel to bring me their sacred offerings. Accept the contributions from all whose hearts are moved to offer them. Until we understand that the Almighty Father deals with the heart we will continue to remain far from Him. You keep your pretence and show to humans alone, God cannot be deceived! Even at the time of the law, God's instruction was clear about giving to Him: ". . . Accept the contributions from all whose hearts are moved to offer them." Not those cajoled, those who want to show off or those who are giving because they want a multiply - like those who invest in ponzi schemes, neither from those who bring proceeds from corruption or other evil deeds, No, but those who give from their heart because they love God and are interested in His work. Enough of all the charades, pretences and corruptions. From the very beginning we see the first two children born on earth, Cain and Abel, they brought their gifts but only the gift of the ri

RESTRICTED ACCESS

Exodus 24:2,13,18 Only Moses is allowed to come near to the Lord. The others must not come near, and none of the other people are allowed to climb up the mountain with him.” So Moses and his assistant Joshua set out, and Moses climbed up the mountain of God. Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. He remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights. As I said earlier as we went through the book of Genesis and now Exodus, we see that man seemed to move farther and farther away from God. Adam at the beginning had direct link and relationship with God but after he fell the gap seemed to widen farther and farther away as time kept moving on. However in each century or do I say generation there arose one who was able to get God's attention, through that one God related or reached out to man. Till it got to Abraham when God wanted to build a nation through whom the Messiah(the salvation) of man would be revealed. Israel was that nation. This is why

HIS PROMISE TO BE WITH US

Exodus 23:22-23,32 But if you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you. For my angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, so you may live there. And I will destroy them completely. “Make no treaties with them or their gods. The Lord keeps His own, fights for them and is always with them. However sin/disobedience separates people from the Lord. The prophet stated in the book of Isaiah: Isaiah 59:1-2 Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. It’s your sins that have cut you off from God.  Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. God sent His angel to guide and lead the children of Israel and to give them His instructions, all they had to do was walk in obedience and then the full victory and prosperity was theirs. The same way the

YOU ARE DIFFERENT (a reminder)

Exodus 23:2a Thou shalt not follow a multitude to [do] evil; We are not expected to be loners or to detach ourselves from people. We actually need people both of the faith and out of the faith. The same way they need us to! 1 Corinthians 5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. However the bible says we should not join people to do evil. 1 Peter 4:3-4 For the time past of [our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:  Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]: Yes they may give us names, mocking us because we do not join in the evil they do, brethren do not be moved, always remember: 1 Peter 4:5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. 2

STAY CLEAN

Exodus 23:8-9 “Take no bribes, for a bribe makes you ignore something that you clearly see. A bribe makes even a righteous person twist the truth. “You must not oppress foreigners. You know what it’s like to be a foreigner, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt. There are characteristics that are described as things that God hates. In Proverbs chapter six we see : Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the Lord hates— no, seven things he detests: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family. In the new testament we see them as the fruit of the flesh. In summary we can call them acts born out of hatred. That is acts that are not acts of love! God told the children of Israel to be careful in their dealings with foreigners, reminding them that they were once foreigners in someone else's land. The problem arises when believe

LIVE WITH OTHERS IN MIND(a reminder)

Exodus 22:22-24 “You must not exploit a widow or an orphan. If you exploit them in any way and they cry out to me, then I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will blaze against you, and I will kill you with the sword. Then your wives will be widows and your children fatherless. Exodus 22:25-27 “If you lend money to any of my people who are in need, do not charge interest as a money lender would. If you take your neighbor’s cloak as security for a loan, you must return it before sunset. This coat may be the only blanket your neighbor has. How can a person sleep without it? If you do not return it and your neighbor cries out to me for help, then I will hear, for I am merciful. 1John 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. When we look at the instructions Moses gave to the children of Israel we see that they had to do with their interaction with God then their interactions with men, be they their own brethren or outside

UNDERSTANDING THE LAW(a reminder)

Exodus 21:1 “These are the regulations you must present to Israel. Exodus 21:24-25 an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot, a burn for a burn, a wound for a wound, a bruise for a bruise. That seemed to be it, nothing goes unpunished, however Jesus said: Matthew 5:38-42 “You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also. The laws as it looked of old seemed to imbibe fear and hate, with the nature of no mercy, however the new covenant had with it one major characteristic - LOVE. For the first is of flesh (to school the flesh to resist sin) the other is of the Spirit. Romans 3:19-20 Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. For no one can ever be made rig

THE LAWS (a reminder)

Exodus 20:1 Then God gave the people all these instructions: No part of scriptures have been contemplated like the laws, starting from the first ten commandments to the following laws, from how the place of worship should be constructed to how to relate to one another. Many laws in secular states have their origin from these laws and the extract of it is still practiced up till today. Starting from the ten commandments (the decalogue) to the laws and commandments which Moses wrote on scrolls as he received them from God. Many rabbis and scholars have written on the decalogue and the Torah, for if you look at Exodus 24: 12, it seems as if Moses received more than the ten words or ten commandments: Exodus 24:12 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the tablets of stone on which I have inscribed the instructions and commands so you can teach the people.” Anyway we are looking at the law in general, then the ten commandments as a summa

THE BOUNDARY

Exodus 19:12,24 Mark off a boundary all around the mountain. Warn the people, ‘Be careful! Do not go up on the mountain or even touch its boundaries. Anyone who touches the mountain will certainly be put to death. But the Lord said, “Go down and bring Aaron back up with you. In the meantime, do not let the priests or the people break through to approach the Lord, or he will break out and destroy them.” We may not appreciate what Christ came to do for us, until we study the scriptures from the times of old and see how God kept moving away from man (vice-versa) after the fall, till it was almost impossible to access Him without being destroyed. Look at all the preparation they had to make to be able to come to His presence. Listen: Exodus 19:10,14-15 Then the Lord told Moses, “Go down and prepare the people for my arrival. Consecrate them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing. So Moses went down to the people. He consecrated them for worship, and they washed their clothes

GOOD COUNSEL

Exodus 18:18...24 “You’re going to wear yourself out—and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself. Now listen to me, and let me give you a word of advice, and may God be with you.  Moses listened to his father-in-law’s advice and followed his suggestions. There are people who come our way and bring good counsel. Listen, the Lord has deposited great gifts in people, there is nothing like tapping from them. Look at a wonderful father-in-law like Jethro, his counsel remains the strategic leadership method used by great leaders over the years. Imagine the number of people camped in the wilderness: Exodus 12:37-38 That night the people of Israel left Rameses and started for Succoth. There were about 600,000 men, plus all the women and children. A rabble of non-Israelites went with them, along with great flocks and herds of livestock. More than a million of them, truly Moses would have worn himself out. We must be alert in the spirit to know when good

SUPPORT FROM FAMILY

Exodus 18:5-6 Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, now came to visit Moses in the wilderness. He brought Moses’ wife and two sons with him, and they arrived while Moses and the people were camped near the mountain of God. Jethro had sent a message to Moses, saying, “I, Jethro, your father-in-law, am coming to see you with your wife and your two sons.” For everyone in ministry one of the greatest help is to have support from family.  Many strive because their family instead of supporting, become a burden to them. Jethro was a good example of a supportive family. Moses left his lovely family to go fullfil God's assignment in Egypt. It was a missionary call. How many today would be supportive of their spouse if ministry takes them to face tough challenges. Exodus 18:7-9 So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law. He bowed low and kissed him. They asked about each other’s welfare and then went into Moses’ tent. Moses told his father-in-law everything the Lord had done to Pharaoh and Egypt on

FIGHTING A LOST BATTLE

Exodus 17:8,13,16 While the people of Israel were still at Rephidim, the warriors of Amalek attacked them. As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle. He said, “They have raised their fist against the lord’s throne, so now the lord will be at war with Amalek generation after generation.” One mistake to make is to fight the ones who are under God's protection, from the start it is already a lost battle! However, when you read through scriptures you see that some always try. After knowing of what the Lord did to the people of Egypt, the parting of the red sea, the destruction of the army of Egypt and the miracles in the wilderness, yet the warriors of the Amalekites thought they had a chance, that was a foolish decision, well, they paid for it. It did not just end with them they had to keep paying for it till there was none of them left. Exodus 17:14 After the victory, the Lord instructed Moses, “Write this down on a scroll as a permanent reminder, and read it aloud

STILL COMPLAINING

Exodus 16:2-3 There, too, the whole community of Israel complained about Moses and Aaron. “If only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.” Let us recall the situation before the Israelites were delivered from their bondage in Egypt: Exodus 3:7-9 Then the Lord told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live. Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them. How then can

COMPLAINING

Exodus 15:24 Then the people complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded. The journey had just begun, yet heaps of miracles had been done, as the Israelites journeyed to the promise land. Yet, the people complained. It is true that thirst is excruciating, however, did they think that the Lord who brought them out of bondage and gave them great victory would allow them thirst to death? We should ask ourselves this question too before we begin to complain. Yes, before we complain, let us remember the testimonies. Tell them to the Lord, yes, tell them to the enemies! Revelation 12:11a And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.  When you praise God, you testify of His goodness, His power and His glory. Your praise includes all He has done for You. In doing this you are already declaring your victory. Let us not make the same error they made, let us trust in the Lord. He who did it for us yesterday, can still do more for

SONGS OF VICTORY

Exodus 15:2-3 The Lord is my strength and my song;  he has given me victory.  This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! The Lord is a warrior; Yahweh is his name! We will sing the song of victory because it is the Lord God who gives us victory. Just as we see Him do in scriptures, so also He does for us today, however, sometimes we seem to forget His doings as the Israelites did and focus only on the immediate challenges. The songs will keep us reminded. Exodus 15:11-12 “Who is like you among the gods, O Lord— glorious in holiness,  awesome in splendor, performing great wonders? You raised your right hand, and the earth swallowed our enemies. Most times we get carried away by the outside show, but do not know that behind the scenes the hand of God brings the miracle and victory to pass. Psalms 91:2-4 This I declare about the Lord:  He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and pro

THE DESTRUCTION OF THE WICKED

Exodus 14:13-14 But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Imagine Pharaoh and his army chasing people against their will till they were destroyed! Exodus 14:27-28 So as the sun began to rise, Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the water rushed back into its usual place. The Egyptians tried to escape, but the Lord swept them into the sea. Then the waters returned and covered all the chariots and charioteers—the entire army of Pharaoh. Of all the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived. No one survived! It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the Lord! Hebrews 10:31 It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. They thought the were wicked, stubborn and hard, the Lord helped them to be so foolishly so that they, and the whole world will see His power. Al

THE WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE

Exodus 13:17-18 When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea. Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle. One thing we must understand about getting to the destination is that we will encounter the wilderness. Going so far into the scriptures we see that all those who were accomplished and fulfilled their purpose, went through their wilderness. From Abraham to Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and even Moses. The wilderness is that difficult part of the journey, but meant to tutor us, test us and prepare us for the final destination. Joseph went from the pit, to being dragged all the way(away) from home to a strange land - Egypt. It didn't end there he was a slave

LEAVE IT TO THE LORD (a reminder)

Psalm 129:2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me. The wise one leaves the troubles to the Lord, for who is in the best position to fight our battles, but Him who is in charge of all things. Psalm 24:8 Who [is] this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. When you put your trust in the Lord, He takes care of your oppositions, He deals with those who come against you for no just cause. Examples of His fight for His children abound in scriptures: 2Chronicles 20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle [is] not yours, but God's. Many a times you just have to do nothing, but stand still and know that He is God. 2Chronicles 20:17 Ye shall not [need] to fight in this [battle]: set yourselves, stand ye [still], and see the salvation of the LORD wi

AT LAST

Exodus 12:51 On that very day the Lord brought the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt like an army. No matter how long the bondage has been, your deliverance is here! Exodus 12:31-33,50 Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron during the night. “Get out!” he ordered. “Leave my people—and take the rest of the Israelites with you! Go and worship the Lord as you have requested. Take your flocks and herds, as you said, and be gone. Go, but bless me as you leave.” All the Egyptians urged the people of Israel to get out of the land as quickly as possible, for they thought, “We will all die!” On that very day the Lord brought the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt like an army. The Lord knows how to shut the enemy up! When the Lord makes His promises to you, it looks like a dream, when it is fulfilled it is bewildering. Psalms 126:1-3 When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy.  And the other nations said,

THE ESSENCE OF THE PASSOVER

Exodus 12:1-2 While the Israelites were still in the land of Egypt, the Lord gave the following instructions to Moses and Aaron: “From now on, this month will be the first month of the year for you. We have said in earlier teachings that though the times look troubled, the Lord will still use it for our good. Egypt was about to be hit with wailings. Every first born son from the highest to the lowest even to animals would die, however for the children of Israel, God was establishing a covenant. Exodus 12:29-30 And that night at midnight, the Lord struck down all the firstborn sons in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sat on his throne, to the firstborn son of the prisoner in the dungeon. Even the firstborn of their livestock were killed. Pharaoh and all his officials and all the people of Egypt woke up during the night, and loud wailing was heard throughout the land of Egypt. There was not a single house where someone had not died. Exodus 12:17,24-27 “Celebrate
