THE ESSENCE OF THE PASSOVER

Exodus 12:1-2

While the Israelites were still in the land of Egypt, the Lord gave the following instructions to Moses and Aaron:

“From now on, this month will be the first month of the year for you.

We have said in earlier teachings that though the times look troubled, the Lord will still use it for our good.

Egypt was about to be hit with wailings. Every first born son from the highest to the lowest even to animals would die, however for the children of Israel, God was establishing a covenant.

Exodus 12:29-30

And that night at midnight, the Lord struck down all the firstborn sons in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sat on his throne, to the firstborn son of the prisoner in the dungeon. Even the firstborn of their livestock were killed.

Pharaoh and all his officials and all the people of Egypt woke up during the night, and loud wailing was heard throughout the land of Egypt. There was not a single house where someone had not died.

Exodus 12:17,24-27

“Celebrate this Festival of Unleavened Bread, for it will remind you that I brought your forces out of the land of Egypt on this very day. This festival will be a permanent law for you; celebrate this day from generation to generation.

“Remember, these instructions are a permanent law that you and your descendants must observe forever.

When you enter the land the Lord has promised to give you, you will continue to observe this ceremony.

Then your children will ask, ‘What does this ceremony mean?’

And you will reply, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt. And though he struck the Egyptians, he spared our families.’” When Moses had finished speaking, all the people bowed down to the ground and worshiped.

Thus the obedience led to their salvation from the slavery of the Egyptians:

Exodus 12:49-51

This instruction applies to everyone, whether a native-born Israelite or a foreigner living among you.”

So all the people of Israel followed all the Lord’s commands to Moses and Aaron.

On that very day the Lord brought the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt like an army.

A lamb was sacrificed, the blood spared them from death!

Then the question: How does this relate to me, this is all about the children of Israel?

Listen:

Luke 4:18-19

The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Every man came under bondage of the enemy when man lost his position in the garden of Eden. Just like the children of Israel, man needed a messiah, blood had to be shed, God had to show wonders that would break man free from the powers of darkness.

Listen:

Colossians 2:13-15

You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins.

He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.

In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

Man was set free from the bondage of sin and death when Christ died for us, a new covenant began thus everyone who entered this covenant became a new creation.

John 3:3,5,7,15

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.

So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’

so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 5:17

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

The liberty took us away from relying on the physical to walking with the divine.

Glory to God. We rejoice today as we remember this victory for anyone who has received it.

The events of the pandemic just like many world plagues of the past reveals the truth to us. SALVATION IS PERSONAL!

Above every doctrine, right or wrong, arguments and sentiments. At the end salvation is between YOU and the Heavenly Father!

Not about a man, priest, prophet, imam, spiritualist, pastor, pope, bishop or General Overseer(whatever hierarchy). It is you and your Heavenly Father. For you can see that in the time of crises everyone carries his own burden, so will it be on the final day: Selah!

1 Timothy 2:5

For,There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:10

For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

We see that all those do or die practices or doctrines cannot apply at the time of crises, when impending death threatens, every man fights for his or herself, it then comes to mind what Paul admonished us:

Colossians 2:16-23

So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths.

For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.

Don’t let anyone condemn you by insisting on pious self-denial or the worship of angels, saying they have had visions about these things. Their sinful minds have made them proud,

and they are not connected to Christ, the head of the body. For he holds the whole body together with its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God nourishes it.

You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as,

“Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”?

Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them.

These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires.

The Lord took us through the pandemic, have we learnt the lessons, are we drawn closer to Him?

All the gimmicks and scales will be removed from our eyes, we will know the Heavenly Father through the only way He has provided, the one who died and rose and lives forevermore the heir of all things, the judge, Yeshua, Jesus the Christ.

Glory to God.

He calls us blessed.

Love
