STILL COMPLAINING

Exodus 16:2-3

There, too, the whole community of Israel complained about Moses and Aaron.

“If only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.”

Let us recall the situation before the Israelites were delivered from their bondage in Egypt:

Exodus 3:7-9

Then the Lord told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering.

So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live.

Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them.

How then can they say it is better to have remained in bondage?

Well, remember what scriptures says:

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Are we not making the same mistakes, are we not also complaining, forgetting what the Lord has done for us?

Listen, firstly we must give God thanks for bringing us into another day (everyday), as I always say, it is because you are alive that you even have the audacity to complain!

Will there be challenges, YES, but understand that the Lord who brought you this far is able to see you through, as we said yesterday, we must keep praising, recalling His victories from our yesterdays. He who did it previously will yet do it again.

He set them free from bondage with His mighty power, destroyed their enemies, parted the red sea for them to walk on dry ground and yet turned their bitter water sweet, why won't He be able to feed them.

The problem is we have not put our trust fully in Him. It is not that we become mediocre, NO, however we know that nothing limits the power of the Heavenly Father, instead of complaining, we ask.

Jesus said:

Matthew 6:25-26

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?

Instead of complaining, pray, praise then listen for instructions.

Exodus 16:28

The Lord asked Moses, “How long will these people refuse to obey my commands and instructions?

The last part we must get right, (including me writing this piece), we must hear the instructions, understand it and obey them.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
