THE TABERNACLE

Exodus 26:1-2,7-8

“Make the Tabernacle from ten curtains of finely woven linen. Decorate the curtains with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim.

These ten curtains must all be exactly the same size—42 feet long and 6 feet wide.

“Make eleven curtains of goat-hair cloth to serve as a tent covering for the Tabernacle.

These eleven curtains must all be exactly the same size—45 feet long and 6 feet wide.

There was need to prepare the tabernacle, the place where the people could come meet the Lord. Moses received instructions on how it would be built.

It was a blue print for the eventual building of the temple when they settle in the promise land.

Today the equivalent will be the buildings built for us to gather and worship God. We see them here and their, gigantic cathedrals and smaller buildings that accommodates people who come to worship the Lord.

It is important to have such edifices where people can come to fellowship, however we must understand that it goes beyond that. It is not about the gigantic buildings but the release of God's power on His people to go forth to do His work.

Jesus told the Samaritan woman:

John 4:20-21,23-24

So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?”

Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem.

But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.

For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

The place of worship is not the key matter but the presence of God is what matters.

Jesus said again:

Matthew 18:20

For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

Look at this, the manifestation of God through the disciples did not happen because they were in the temple or in a special auditorium. It was their presence in the spirit, they were in one accord which was required for the manifestation and impartation.

Listen,

Acts 2:1-4

On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place.

Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.

Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.

And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

It was not just because they were in the temple as much as it was that they were believers!

Believers not in mere name (as many call themselves christians formally) but as per their heart, faith and works.

As I always say, there must be one thought for all who come to gather, for to make an impact, there must be oneness of purpose.

Have we built the Lord's tabernacle in our hearts?

The gathering of believers is the gathering of individual tabernacles in a containing tabernacle and as Christ promised, God's presence is always there. Halleluyah

I love this song by women of faith:

"Come and make my heart Your home

Come and be everything I am and all I know

Search me through and through 'till my heart becomes a home for You

A home for You, Lord.

A home for You, Lord

Let everything I do open up

A door for You to come through

And that be a place where You want to be"

Help us Good Lord. Please take away the bitterness, hatred, malice, non-forgiveness, tribalism, racism, lust and all evils from our heart and make us clean, a tabernacle were You will always want to be.

Glory to Your name Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
