THE BOUNDARY

Exodus 19:12,24

Mark off a boundary all around the mountain. Warn the people, ‘Be careful! Do not go up on the mountain or even touch its boundaries. Anyone who touches the mountain will certainly be put to death.

But the Lord said, “Go down and bring Aaron back up with you. In the meantime, do not let the priests or the people break through to approach the Lord, or he will break out and destroy them.”

We may not appreciate what Christ came to do for us, until we study the scriptures from the times of old and see how God kept moving away from man (vice-versa) after the fall, till it was almost impossible to access Him without being destroyed.

Look at all the preparation they had to make to be able to come to His presence.

Listen:

Exodus 19:10,14-15

Then the Lord told Moses, “Go down and prepare the people for my arrival. Consecrate them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing.

So Moses went down to the people. He consecrated them for worship, and they washed their clothes.

He told them, “Get ready for the third day, and until then abstain from having sexual intercourse.”

It was that stringent for their own safety, that was how bad the situation was!

Today people take the presence of the Lord for granted. They do whatever they like and still claim that they have the presence of the Lord. THEY LIE!

Listen:

Hebrews 12:14

Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

There is no way any unholy person will see the Lord. Selah

God cannot be contaminated with sin.

So we must understand what Christ brought:

John 1:17-18

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

The coming of Christ was the revelation of God to the world. The way it was in the beginning.

When man fell, man kept moving away from God till it got to a time when everyone was totally out of contact, except one - Noah!

God went ahead to reset things, the whole of humanity was cleared and Noah was left to start a new generation. However, this was not the solution. So God said:

Genesis 8:21-22

And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.

As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.”

The next agenda was to raise a nation that will be his link with humans, Abraham was the man found worthy to Father this nation.

Genesis 12:1-2

The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.

I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.

Israel was now the link to bring people back to God. However, there was to be a special sacrifice to completely break the boundary, the barrier that kept man from God.

That man was Yeshua HaMaschiac, Christ Jesus.

We must yet understand that Christ linking us back to the Father was by destroying the power of sin and death. He set us free not to return to sin but to walk in holiness that we may be with the Father.

We should instead of creating the boundary again, draw closer to Him day after day. This is the true christian growth.

2 Corinthians 3:18

So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Do not take for granted the liberty that Christ Jesus brought, that we may not create the boundary again.

God glory, power and awesomeness has not diminished it remains all powerful, awesome and fearful. It is the sonship that Christ made us by His coming that gives us the grace to enjoy His presence, never take Him for granted, for scripture still declared even in the new testament:

Hebrews 12:28-29

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.

For our God is a devouring fire.

We refuse to build the boundary instead we honour our Heavenly Father in Christ Jesus that there may be no boundary but reverence.

Help us Good Lord.

Glory to God forever.

He calls us blessed.

Love
