GIVING TO THE LORD
Exodus 25:2
“Tell the people of Israel to bring me their sacred offerings. Accept the contributions from all whose hearts are moved to offer them.
Until we understand that the Almighty Father deals with the heart we will continue to remain far from Him.
You keep your pretence and show to humans alone, God cannot be deceived!
Even at the time of the law, God's instruction was clear about giving to Him:
". . . Accept the contributions from all whose hearts are moved to offer them."
Not those cajoled, those who want to show off or those who are giving because they want a multiply - like those who invest in ponzi schemes, neither from those who bring proceeds from corruption or other evil deeds, No, but those who give from their heart because they love God and are interested in His work.
Enough of all the charades, pretences and corruptions. From the very beginning we see the first two children born on earth, Cain and Abel, they brought their gifts but only the gift of the righteous was accepted:
Genesis 4:3-7
When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the Lord.
Abel also brought a gift—the best portions of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift,
but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected.
“Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected?
You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
You cannot come to the Lord's presence full of sin, envy, tribalism, racism, hatred and other devices and expect Him to accept you, No, God doesn't work that way. You can only fool man but not God.
Christ said:
Matthew 5:23-24
“So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you,
leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.
If we are serious about working with God, we must be serious about knowing His ways.
Paul thus counseled:
2 Corinthians 8:12-14
Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.
Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality.
Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal.
Also,
2 Corinthians 9:7
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”
Remember You are giving to the Heavenly Father, You do not just give anything but a worthy gift:
Exodus 25:3-4
Here is a list of sacred offerings you may accept from them:gold, silver, and bronze;
blue, purple, and scarlet thread;fine linen and goat hair for cloth;
etc
For God said:
Exodus 25:8-9
“Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them.
You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you.
The Lord deserves all the honour, be they on earthly things or things above.
In summary -
"The first thing You give to the Lord is your HEART!!!"
May we be acceptable to our Heavenly Father. We receive Your mercy Lord, forgive our errs and make us please You in all things.
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
