DON'T GET TIRED OF THE WORD

Psallm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. When one walks in darkness, accidents happen, for a blind man cannot drive. A blind man should not lead another else they both fall into the pit. Matthew 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Psalm 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. It is in searching the scriptures, that we get to know what the will of the Lord is, knowing what He desires from us thus we are able to please Him. It is through the knowledge of the Word that the Spirit is able to perform God's exploits through us. Many who have derailed and become false prophets and fake pastors have derailed from the word. They have began to walk in their own thoughts, that of their flesh and also that of the evil one. Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. It is also

THE FALSE COMPETITION - be fruitful.

Matthew 25:15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Jesus the Christ, the Messiah used parables to illustrate His teachings to the people. These examples He gave, buttressed what He was to say, though at that instant some who heard did not fully understand the interpretation of the parables. Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. One point is clear everyone who is heading to the kingdom has been granted responsibility according to their ability. Everyone is expected to profit thereof. 1 Corinthians 12:7  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. In John 15, the Lord further described it as He being the tree and we the branches. A branch receives its supply from the

THE JONA-FRIEND

Proverbs 18:24 A man [that hath] friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend [that] sticketh closer than a brother. One major truth about life is our need for others and also, other's need for us. It however goes extra when we call one a friend. We try to categorize the level of friendship depending on how much we want to trust, how much we want to reveal and also how much they have proved themselves. I do not know if there still exists so strong a friendship like that of Jonathan to David? 1Samuel 18:1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. 1 Samuel 18:3-4(NLT) And Jonathan made a solemn pact with David, because he loved him as he loved himself. Jonathan sealed the pact by taking off his robe and giving it to David, together with his tunic, sword, bow, and belt. He was supposed to be the stumbling block to Jonathan becoming kin

IS IT HIM WE REALLY SEEK?

Acts 10:2 & 4 [A] devout [man], and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find [him], if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. Many are in churches, born into Christian homes or even to the family of clergy yet have not been able to have a close relationship with the Heavenly Father. Something is missing, the heart that seeks! Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Jeremiah 29:13  And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart. This is why we have many who study the texts yet are far from love. They become arrogant and even try to discourage or bring down those who have

DON'T TAKE IT TO HEART

Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. One thing we cannot avoid as we go on with our journey on earth is our relationship with others. There are things we can't choose. * Who our parents are * Who our siblings are * Who our neighbours are * Who our colleagues are * Who drives adjacent us or who sits close to us in a commercial vehicle. The list extends. . . There is a limit to how much we can narrow down our choices, to have the right people around. Remember those who got betrayed, were actually betrayed by those they have come to trust. Selah! In all, we cannot but deal with other humans, we need them and they need us too. However offense will come and that in varying degrees. The Lord expects us not to take it too close to heart, that it becomes difficult to forgive. Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: It is our Heavenly Father's nature to

ALWAYS ABOUT HIM

Matthew 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. One thing about God is that He does not share His glory with any man. Isaiah 42:8 I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. When we do what we do that men will praise us, God says we should not expect any other reward from Him, we have already been rewarded. Matthew 6:5c  Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. We should be careful of pomp and show off, we ought not to get carried away, lest, we begin to receive praise from men. The bible says that when our light shines, it is God who receives the Glory. Selah Matthew 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. May the Heavenly Father Himself guide us by His Spirit, that we bring glory to the Father. Halleluyah. Colossians

KEEPING YOUR HOME

There are things King Lemuel wrote in Proverbs 31, things that his mother taught him that remain relevant to us today. Proverbs 31:2  What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? The man ought to be strong, focused and not easily distracted. Proverbs 31:3-4 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.  [It is] not for kings, O Lemuel, [it is] not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Avoid strange women and run away from addictions e. g.  Alcohol. The man earns, he make a living, Adam was not given a wife first, he had his work first. The woman, the helper, she is not a threat to her husband. Proverbs 31:12  She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. These are the basic standards of the family. The children come, they don't destroy the status quo, they should solidify it. Selah Families should understand that when a man and woman come together a new creation has ev

RESPECTER OF PERSONS

James 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, [the Lord] of glory, with respect of persons. This has been the down fall of many believers, leaders and teachers. "Respect of persons" What is the issue here? Mammon Luke 16:13  No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. James 2:6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? However we know that we associate with our kind. Those who have the same vision and goals. Those who are already where we are headed, learning from them and seeking advice. This should be no reason why we should look down on those we feel are poor or are beneath us. We shouldn't get it twisted. There are those we seek counsel and help from and there are those that seek counsel and help from us. The circle continues. What is the natur

STILL TO GOD'S GLORY

Psalms 47:8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. 2Chronicles 20:6 and said: "O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? No matter the argument, the acceptance or denial the issue will always be about the Heavenly Father. Yes it will always be about God. Be they believers, non-believers and even atheists it is all around the fact that it all begins with and ends with God. Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. The reference point is always God, that He is, or He is not. That He wants it this way or He wants it that way. That there is only one way or that there are many ways. No matter the stand it all circles around God. For those who have not believed, they will eventually be

THE GROWTH OF THE BELIEVER

It is good to remind ourselves of the pattern of growth of all who come to the Heavenly Father, through the Messiah, His Son who is the Christ. It gives to us who have gotten to a certain stage of maturity, a mirror to examine ourselves with, for the new convert a syllabus of growth and to the teacher a guideline as to how to teach our disciples to grow. Let us look at these verses as written by Peter: (NEVER GET TIRED OF READING THROUGH SCRIPTURES they are our spirits' food. Selah) 2 Peter 1:1,5-10(NLT) This letter is from Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient end

PROSPERITY

John 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. We cannot have anything except the Heavenly Father permits that we do. Yes we plan, set goals, work etc. Yet if the Lord does not permit we will not yield. Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain. Proverbs 16:1(The Message) Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. I love that hymn by Matthias Claudius: "We plough the seed and scatter" the first verse and chorus goes thus: (We plough the fields, and scatter the good seed on the land; But it is fed and watered by God's almighty hand: He sends the snow in winter, the warmth to swell the grain, The breezes and the sunshine, and soft refreshing rain. Chorus   All good gifts around us Are sent from heaven above, Then thank the Lord, O thank the Lord For all His love. ) Men like Phara

DON'T HATE

1John 2:11  But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. The nature of the believer ought to be the nature of God and the bible says: 1John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. It is not that people would not offend us, they would be offences here and there, however the environment should not destroy our internal. Selah From our initial text, hate blinds, and we know that blindness is associated with darkness. Thus destruction is not far away. That is why the Messiah, Jesus the Christ says: leave that gift on the alter and go reconcile with your brother first: Matthew 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Everyday we face the issues that proceed from our life here on earth: * family including parents, children and direct and indirect relatives; * work

TRUST IN THE LORD

Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, [is] from the LORD. Proverbs 16:1 (the message bible) Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. God created us as a mortal replica of Himself, we have the ability to make plans. However the final say is of the Lord. For no matter how much wisdom we think we have, we do not see everything. Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man [are] clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. That's where man could get it twisted, God goes deeper than the surface, He sees the heart. Furthermore He knows the end from the beginning. So what is the best way? Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. Yes

WORTHY ELDERS

1 Peter 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: It seems easy when one desires the role of a leader. The urge may most likely come in good intention to lead others in the right direction.  However an adage says: "the proof of the  pudding is in the eating " Jesus, the Messiah says it this way: Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. It is easy to sit on the exalted chair, receive greetings and respect, even be eloquent in speech. The deciding factor still remains: 1 Peter 5:3 Neither as being lords over [God's] heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. Hello Elder: ARE YOU A GOOD EXAMPLE? Where do some miss it? 1 Peter 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight [thereof], not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; What is lucre

DON'T STAY THERE

Yes you almost fell, or you actually did fall. Please don't stay there. There is a difference between falling into water and drowning. As the man of wisdom prophesied: Proverbs 24:16a  For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again This you can achieve when your maker and author is the Heavenly Father himself. When He is the one you are bothered about, your victory is already sure. Contrast King Saul and King David, they had their fault(s): Saul: 1Samuel 15:24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. And: 1Samuel 15:30 Then he said, I have sinned: [yet] honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD thy God. He seemed to cherish his status or prestige among the elders and people more than His submission to God. This has destroyed many leaders and ma

DON'T BE CAUGHT OFF GUARD

1Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There is a difference between faith and arrogance. Arrogance will overlook and ignore instructions but faith will hold on to instructions. At no point should a believer feel that they are above temptations, No. Even after the devil tempted the Messiah the bible recorded that: Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. The "leaving for a season" is a trick I call "delay tactics". When it seems that temptation will not come anymore, like a pain it reappears. This is why we need to deal with every issue completely, leaving no stone unturned. Always be prepared. No matter what we may have been told or taught we still carry flesh. We ought to kill the flesh and allow the spirit take control. We do these that we may submit to the Heavenly Father's Spirit at work in us. Most times it is more easily said than done. Roman

THE NIGHT

Psalms 16:7 I will bless the lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. The night in scriptures depicts different times in the life of man: * Literary : when darkness comes Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. * Time of great trouble: Psalms 30:5 For his anger [endureth but] a moment; in his favour [is] life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy [cometh] in the morning. John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. Micah 3:6 Therefore night [shall be] unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. * Old age John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. Lamentations 3:6 He hath set me in dark place

ARE YOU STILL UNSATISFIED(a reminder)

1Chronicles 4:9&10  Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain."  And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. That feeling that comes, we feel that  we are more than this. Our vision eye opens, we see that where we are now is not where we ought to be. It is like an awakening, as if from a deep sleep. We ask ourself, why am I still held up here. We take stock and find ourself wanting. Just like every prompting that comes to a believer we cannot allow ourself be easily carried away. Therefore we must ask: * Am I being ungrateful? * Am I comparing myself to others? * Am I genuinely behind, have I tarried too long at that spot? * Do I have a vision of where I am headed? * Am I

DO YOU KNOW YOUR GOD?

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: We talk of knowing God, hope we know what we are talking about? Selah! Do we know what it means to know God? Let us look at this extract from the narration of Daniel about the revelation of the end time shown to Him : Daniel 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do [exploits]. These are two contrasts: Those who corrupt the covenant and those who know their God. It has been like that from the early times. There are those who rebel against God's authority in their lives: starting from Cain to examples of others who rebelled against the covenant up till today. The bible says they shall be corrupted by flatteries. * form of godliness, but no power * have itching ears * heap on themselves false teachers * call up

REMEMBER THE BRETHREN

Psalms 120:7, 6 and 121:1 I [am for] peace: but when I speak, they [are] for war.  My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. While some of us gather in air-conditioned spaces and complain of little discomforts in our places of worship, some in certain places gather in fear not knowing when the next physical attack will occur. Some do not have as much as a roof to cover their place of gathering. We need to bring these troubled ones in prayer time and again. That we have peace and liberty of worship is no license to get carried away with showmanship, puffed up sermons, unspiritual aesthetics and chase after material things. Do you dwell in prayer consistently, are you deep in study and meditation of the word, are you full of the Spirit. Do you do the good work. Are you a good example? What is your sacrifice? What is your testimony? Remember we run the same race, why should we be rewarded? Selah

STAY IN THE WORD (a reminder)

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT) All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. One way to get into trouble and totally miss ones way in our journey with God through this earth is when we derail from the word. We are to study day and and night, understanding by meditation what the Lord is saying, knowing His will, being empowered, then teaching others. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. David describes the word as light: Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. The word gives us directi

YOUR TIME

Psalm 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. One reason for good timing is preparation. What an error to give a position to a man that lacks experience or wisdom. Yes we live in fast paced times, where everything seems to move so fast. Yet we must work by times and seasons. There is a planting time, the weaning time and also the harvesting time. Every one of God's own we see as examples in the old testament went through their seasons of preparation before they ventured into the next level. Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. Almost all who did not go through the training, did not finish well. Selah  Moses was not left in the kings house, he had to fl

WHEN IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY

Phillipians 2:13  for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Acts 26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; When is your birthday? The day you begin a thing is the day you were born into it. Until you have come to an acknowledgement of a truth, you cannot fully live in it. You could be * around the truth * within the truth or * arguing the truth You never get the benefit of it until you accept and receive the truth. John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." What exactly is a birth date? Is it the time you came into the world, the time you received salvation through Yeshau Jesus the Christ, the time you discovered your purpose or the time you initiated that idea, when the vision is made plain? It is neve

DON'T HURT HIM/HER?

Proverbs 3:29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. One of the things God would not approve of is, betrayal. This is not necessarily from a lower to a greater, it could also be from a higher to a lower. How can we ask of God's mercy only to go ahead to do evil against our neighbour. What are you plotting? Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! Yes offences will arise but hello believer, Yeshau, Jesus the Christ says it shouldn't come from you. Why Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea. DON'T GET INTO GOD'S BLACK BOOK Don't be deceived, Remember: Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also re

ALL IS WELL

Lamentations 3:22-23  [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness. Yahweh never sleeps nor slumbers. We are the ones who do. Nothing overwhelms Him. He is God! We should never compare our weakness to His, He is the one who: * gives strength yet never gets tired * watches over us and yet needs no one to watch over Him * Provides our need because He Himself is provision * Forgives our sins, yet cannot behold iniquity * Deserves all the glory and still allow us to shine is this colony * Who made His Son the judge of all, and still the Son is our advocate (Read Psalm 103) The list is endless, the awesome love of our God to us. The greatest love God showed us, was to call us His Sons: 1John 3:1a  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: It did not come cheap, it came with a high prize, the sac

IF YOU SIN!

(Do read through patiently) 1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: This was not really an issue with the keepers of law in Israel, the books of the law had comprehensive offences and repercussions for errs. They only needed to refer the matter to the elders and teachers of the law then verdict was taken. However: Then the truth about God's law was revealed! Psalm 4:4  Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Psalm 24:4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalm 44:21  Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart. Psalm 66:18  If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear [me]: Psalm 78:37 For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant. 1Samue

USE THE HELP

Psalm 121:2. My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. All who served God through the time of the law and the prophets exercised a faith that went beyond sight. Remember that most of them had no physical encounter with God. They had to exercise faith through the law and the prophets. We today have something greater, the indwelling of the Spirit. Joel 2:28  And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Acts 2:16  But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; The question is, how have we used this help from the Lord? Eve enjoyed a glory so great, yet the enemy could convince her that there was something better. Selah We need to understand what privilege we have and make the most of it. We are inexcusable! Another day of worship is here, we can yet fellowship with the brethren, take stoc

WE WORK

John 17:15  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. Yes we do not get saved and then get whisked out of this world. No, cause we would then have no reward. What will be our testimony, what can we lay claim to? That is why when the Lord returns He should find us WORKING. Luke 12:43-44 (NLT) If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns. Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. There are so many distractions in this world both from within and without. It takes God's grace and our dedication to stay in line. Thus Christ said: keep them from evil. We need to dwell in the word and stay in prayer

YOU ARE DIFFERENT!

Exodus 23:2a Thou shalt not follow a multitude to [do] evil; We are not expected to be loners or to detach ourselves from people. We actually need people both of the faith and out of the faith. The same way they need us to! 1 Corinthians 5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. However the bible says we should not join people to do evil. 1 Peter 4:3-4 For the time past of [our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:  Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]: Yes they may give us names, mocking us because we do not join in the evil they do, brethren do not be moved, always remember: 1 Peter 4:5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quic

DON'T REMAIN A BABY!

Hebrews 5:13 For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. One thing most people would not like to be called is "a child". We desire to be called "mature". Some quote the number of years they have been in the christian journey. Others could talk of who they have associated with, pastors and leaders they have met. In all, we are not matured until we can take strong meat, teach and have disciples. Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Some say "talk is cheap" but to produce result is what tells if you are what you claim. The only way we can bear fruit is when we abide in Christ. There is no way you abide in Christ and not grow. John 15:5  I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothi
