IS IT HIM WE REALLY SEEK?
Acts 10:2 & 4
[A] devout [man], and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find [him], if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Many are in churches, born into Christian homes or even to the family of clergy yet have not been able to have a close relationship with the Heavenly Father.
Something is missing, the heart that seeks!
Proverbs 8:17
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Jeremiah 29:13
And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
This is why we have many who study the texts yet are far from love. They become arrogant and even try to discourage or bring down those who have been given specific assignments.
Ecclesiastes 12:12-14
And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books [there is] no end; and much study [is] a weariness of the flesh.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil.
Some have even gone to the extent of discarding or discrediting the scriptures on which foundation the new testament writings are based. Nothing just appears, it is built from something.
Matthew 5:17-18
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
How many really seek the Lord, do we seek Him or do we seek relevance, superiority or are we trapped in the "I am right" syndrome.
1 Peter 2:16
As free, and not using [your] liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
How many still wait in His presence to hear His word. How many really carry his love in the heart and soul.
Thus Jesus told the teachers and elders of His day:
Matthew 21:31
Whether of them twain did the will of [his] father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
Why?
Why the other was trying to prove themselves right and trying to show that the know the word. The others with the zeal of love accepts and dwell in His love. Simply. Selah!
May we not become more knowledgeable that we take the place of God. May we know that love, that characterized those who have been with Christ, those who have known the Heavenly Father. May we really know Him.
The Lord will help us.
