DON'T BE CAUGHT OFF GUARD
1Corinthians 10:12
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
There is a difference between faith and arrogance. Arrogance will overlook and ignore instructions but faith will hold on to instructions.
At no point should a believer feel that they are above temptations, No. Even after the devil tempted the Messiah the bible recorded that:
Luke 4:13
And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
The "leaving for a season" is a trick I call "delay tactics". When it seems that temptation will not come anymore, like a pain it reappears. This is why we need to deal with every issue completely, leaving no stone unturned. Always be prepared.
No matter what we may have been told or taught we still carry flesh. We ought to kill the flesh and allow the spirit take control. We do these that we may submit to the Heavenly Father's Spirit at work in us. Most times it is more easily said than done.
Romans chapter two and verse one tells those of us who should know that we are inexcusable:
Romans 2:1
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
Romans 6:12
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Are we mature believers or new converts? Whichever we are, we cannot afford to be careless, not that we should live in fear. However we must fear the Lord and keep His commandments. Selah
Temptations will come and go, but it must meet us prepared and resolute. We must be ready to tell the enemy to get behind us. We have the power as believers. Take your stand.
Ephesians 6:13
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Don't give room to the enemy. Don't allow any past habit or sin raise its ugly head.
Remember:
2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
We have no excuse because:
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].
So get out of that dirt, resolve never to be caught off guard again. The mission is too important to be caught off guard.
Colossians 3:5
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
NOTHING CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF OUR GLORY. WE ARE NOT "FOR SALE", WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR. HALLELUYAH
We are blessed.
