HIS JUDGMENT

Psalm 50:4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. This is a Psalm attributed to Asaph, he was a Levite, a psalmist and also a recorder. He lived in the time of David. For David appointed him to minister before the ark of the Lord. 1Chronicles 16:4-6 And he appointed [certain] of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel: Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals; Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God. Nehemiah 12:46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old [there were] chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God. They did not just write the Psalms, the also received it from David as inspired of the Lord. It was ...

IS THERE ANOTHER WAY?

John 14:6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  Everyone trapped in one religion or another would always have this question come up to them. Is there another way? If you do the work of an evangelist and give audience to others this question would always pop up in your discussions. Are you really saying that Jesus the Christ is the only way to God? Are you saying that no one can receive eternal life except they come to Him? Some ministers have even claimed that there are other ways. Some of them have even become disillusioned and succumb to the opinion that there is another path to the Father. Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” So what do you believe? Do you believe the scriptures, other people's opinions or you are just sceptic. The truth is that what you believe actually shows if you really know Who you serve and what the assignment is....

PROPHESY IN WORSHIP

Psalms 49:4 I listen carefully to many proverbs and solve riddles with inspiration from a harp. The sons of Korah, who ministered in music understood the power of prophesy. They knew what it was to stay in the place of worship and receive revelations. Listen to their prophesy of redemption: Psalms 49:2,6-8 High and low, rich and poor—listen! They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches. Yet they cannot redeem themselves from death by paying a ransom to God. Redemption does not come so easily, for no one can ever pay enough See its fulfilment: 1 Timothy 2:5-6 For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. Yes, God alone could save man, so He gave Himself, yes His Son, the Word as ransom. He paid our debt. So much love, so great a sacrifice. Yet He did not lose, for with God it is always a win-win. Halleluyah So what ...

HIS SURE PROMISES

Psalm 48:14 For this God [is] our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death. For we who have believed today are under the covenant of faith like that of Abraham. For when God promised Abraham and Israel in times of old, He had all who will believe encompassed in His promises. For, to them it was a shadow of things to come, but for us the fulfillment of these promises. Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. Isaiah 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way [that] they knew not; I will lead them in paths [that] they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Isaiah 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me ...

OUR GOD RULES ON EARTH

Psalm 47:2 For the LORD most high [is] terrible; [he is] a great King over all the earth. The book of Psalms is one part of scriptures that debunks the claim of the enemy to rule the earth. It is not his to take and neither at any time was he given to rule the earth. The rulership and dominion of the earth was the Creator's, and He handed that right to man. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. What the enemy does is to: John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly. It begins with "the lie", when you fall for it you begin to fall for other things too. That is what he did to Eve in the garden and he still uses the same trick today! Th...

GOD IS THERE

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I [am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Those of us who may be carried away with the feeling that "God is not there"! This is not true! The sons of Korah in Psalm 46 knew that same feeling, they did not argue the power of God. Remember that they knew the story of their fathers, the mystery of the miracles, wonders and victory over the enemies. They did not doubt the power of God, the question was "was God there, will He help us?" I have personally found myself telling our Heavenly Father. "Your power to help me is not questionable, there is no doubt, but will You help me, will You do it?" The truth is that we only see and know in part, He knows all and thus can make the best decisions. One thing is certain, He has the final say and when He says it, every other opinion or voice is "shut up". He told them, "these Egyptians you see today, you will see them no more...

Christ and His Church

Psalm 45:6 Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom [is] a right sceptre. Psalm 45, another Psalm of the sons of Korah, was believed by the Jews as a prophecy of the coming Messiah. Truly it is, for we see Christ and His church in this great poetry. Psalm 45:11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he [is] thy Lord; and worship thou him. The love of Christ for His bride "the church", is so greatly expressed in this Psalm. It is a loss for anyone to be outside of this love. No matter what, the glory of Christ and His church cannot be prevailed against. It is from everlasting to everlasting. Psalm 45:17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever. Isaiah 9:6&7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Pe...

THE HOLY SPIRIT

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: In this dispensation the Heavenly Father's Spirit is fully released, however we know that God's Spirit has been active from the beginning even from the time of creation. The Son, yes the Word, Yeshua HaMashiac, Jesus the Christ has been described by so many sects and denominations, however the wise would know Him for who He said He is and who His Father says He is: For we understand that the Spirit of the Father is also the Spirit of the Son and that this same Spirit was released to us freely from the day of Pentecost. This morning we are reminded to be conscious of God's Spirit in us, making the most of His presence to make the right decisions and to always do good. For that is His nature. Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and hea...

"cheta" - REMEMBER!

Psalm 44:1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, [what] work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. We could get carried away by all the troubles and worries of the present and forget how the Lord has kept us.  We do well to remember the victories of the past, for they keep us strong and make us hope again. For He that brought about the victory before will yet do it again. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. Psalm 44:6-8 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah. Don't let the news, be your main source of broadcast, but let the promises of God overshadow them all  One thing we must learn from the Psalms is that His praise must continually be in our mouth. Halleluyah We have a victory greater than these writers had, we ought to have praise ...

CRY NO MORE

Psalm 43:2 For thou [art] the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? David is a very good example of one who has faced oppression from enemies. We may want to blame David for complaining, having that feeling that God is not there. Have you really faced what He faced? The early believers faced real oppression. We understand that many of them from Stephen to all the other apostles, were martyed for their faith. The struggles of believers today has not been that great compared to those days. Notwithstanding some are yet being killed for their faith while others are persecuted and denied their freedom and rights because of their faith. In the midst of all these many are still living the complacent christian life, this being because of the spread of acceptance and generalization of the faith in many areas. We should remember that people paid the price up to their lives for us to enjoy this. When the church came into politics ...

GOD, WHERE ARE YOU?

Psalm 42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. Have you been asked that question? Most times a mockery of your faith. When people see you going through challenges. It could come from anyone. Job's wife asked him to curse God and die! I remember my dad narrating to us an attitude of a man he worked with. For anything that looked like a challenge to my dad then at work, the man would say, "see, your God has failed you". David faced this kind of mockery, within his family, from the king, from Goliath and other adversaries, yet he did not let them weigh him down. His heart still longed after his God like the deer for water. The sons of Korah must have experienced such testimony or have learnt from David, for they knew to turn to God. Why would he not be called a man after God's heart? Can we be called a people after God's heart? Or has something else taken God's place in our lives? Psalm 42:8 [Yet] the LORD will comman...

Jesus, my true Friend

Psalm 41:12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. Like David, have you experienced betrayal? Surely for Christ experienced the same, the one He called a disciple was to betray Him with a kiss, while the one He was to make the commander denied Him thrice. John 2:24-25 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all [men], And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. We cannot do without people, we all need friends, people in different aspects of our lives. However, we must know the one true friend: John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. He is the true friend, all He asks is that we dwell in obedience, for that is your part of the friendship. He paid the ultimate price. John 15:13-14 Greater love hath no man than this, that a ma...

PATIENCE - WHY WE WAIT?

Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. This is one of the most difficult parts of the believers walk. To wait on the Lord. I that write still struggle with this. How patient can we be living in this fast paced world? Some have thus called the Lord slow, why has the Lord delayed, why has He not answered my prayers, why has He not given me x or y? Truly it is not easy to wait, yet the waiting is the patience, it is part of our christian walk. For without patience we cannot be perfect and wanting nothing: James 1:4 But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Without this singular attribute of God's Spirit we cannot finish well: Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience. Luke 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls. All those who walked in patience were able to fulfill God...

THE FOOLISHNESS OF PRIDE

Psalm 39:4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it [is; that] I may know how frail I [am]. What will make a man so proud, to think so highly of "self", can we estimate what we are, what our flesh/self is worth? Psalm 39 says that at the highest peak of man's achievement, man is still vanity. Psalm 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days [as] an handbreadth; and mine age [is] as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state [is] altogether vanity. Selah. Psalms 39:5(NLT) You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.” How foolish to keep acquiring riches, heaping and heaping them, how foolish are those politicians and people in power who loot and cart away common wealth. How much of it will they spend or enjoy. They die and pass away most times from sicknesses and diseases that money cannot heal them of. They live in pain, falsehood and fear. Worst...

HELP ME GET IT RIGHT

Psalm 38:1 O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. We know that the coming of the Messiah, His death and resurrection brought us out of the bondage of sin and death. This miracle David did not experience so we understand his prayers in Psalm 38. However every wrong doing has its repercussion, for the Lord has put things in place for He is the creator. There is a reward for all our actions be they good or bad. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Yes, for some, especially those who have given themselves high seats in Heavenly places, think that they are immune to the consequences of their actions. They did beware, for the bible says: Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: David saw the repercussions of his actions, he pleaded for mercy. He knew that those who hated him would take advantage to mock him, he humble...

WHAT A MIRAGE!

Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass. We learn from David that all is not what it seems. Truly there are those the Lord granted wealth, people that may not have known Him yet He allows them to succeed. People like Nebuchadnezzar of old times who God allowed to rule and conquer. We have some of such still with us today. My belief is that everyone is born with talents and gifts, however what you do with it is up to you. It takes an encounter with the Lord to understand that everything we have received is for good works and we will account for it. The wise thing to do is to serve the Lord. This is not just going to church but shining the light of God into the world. Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LOR...

WOE TO THE WICKED

Psalm 36:4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way [that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil. It never pays to be counted as the wicked, for the author of life and judge of all has prepared judgment for anyone who has chosen the path of unrighteousness. What excuse does one have to walk in the path of unrighteousness? For truly it is a choice. For all temptation is common to man: 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]. Thus "you are inexcusable o man". Why should anyone choose wickedness, when the Heavenly Father shows so much mercy? Psalm 36:5 Thy mercy, O LORD, [is] in the heavens; [and] thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the clouds. For all that comes out of wickedness is punishment. See how evil it could be: Psalm 36:3-4 The words of h...

Divine Defence and Favour

Psalm 35:6 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify [themselves] against me. God gives His own divine defence and favour! For if you are the Heavenly Father's own, those who fight you, fight Him and those who bless you, bless Him. Psalm 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Listen brethren, It is not a privilege of a few who claim to be prophets, pastors, men of God or whatever titles the claim. No it is the entitlement for anyone who has believed and also walk in obedience with Christ. Psalm 35:9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation. Ephesians 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ: No one can toil a...

GOD CARES FOR HIS OWN

Psalm 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. The book of Psalms emphasizes the Lord's favour on those who put their trust in Him. He categorizes them as the righteousness for their way of life pleases the Lord. The Lord calls them blessed: Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him. All through scriptures it has been so, the righteous are those who walk in the will of the Lord, they are humble, they put their trust in the Lord, their nature is love and they do good continually. However the other category are those who choose the path of unrighteousness, they are proud, their feet run to do evil and they do not put their trust in God. Psalm 34:12-14  What man [is he that] desireth life, [and] loveth [many] days, that he may see good?  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. For this reason Ch...

COME LET'S PRAISE THE LORD

Psalm 33:1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: [for] praise is comely for the upright. It is a privilege to praise God. Do you know that before man was created, God was praised? Reading through scriptures you see praise from angels and the elders bowing. So, you do yourself good to be part of the praise. Who should know this more than the maestro himself, the man of worship, David. He talked of worship on the instruments. Today's guitar, piano, drums, cymbals and all other musical equipment. Even the loud music, it all belongs to Him. We sing new songs, for His Spirit in us empower us to worship. Halleluyah Psalm 33:3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. We should remember that when we worship the Heavenly Father we remember all His glorious works just as David did. He said, Psalm 33:6-7 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the ...

I AM AT PEACE WITH GOD

Psalm 32:1&2 Blessed [is he whose] transgression [is] forgiven, [whose] sin [is] covered. Blessed [is] the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit [there is] no guile. The best thing to happen to man is to come before the Heavenly Father blameless. Can any man claim perfection, can anyone say they have covered all the corners and no error is found in them? Yes. They are the ones who love the Lord. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Do you know that the promise of the Holy Spirit was tied to obedience? It is thus a wonder that one would claim to have the Holy Spirit and yet work in disobedience. (John 14 : 15-17 ) Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. There is no way we can be born of the Spirit and still work in the fruit of the flesh (in sin) never! it does not correlate. Ephesians 5:6-11...

My Hope is in the Lord.

Psalm 31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. It has been like that from the fall of man, that the wicked envies and seeks the downfall of the righteous. From the hatred and envy that caused Cain to strike Abel to death, to Joseph's brothers seeking his death. What of Saul who sought to kill David? We can also talk of Daniel's colleagues in Babylon who sought to find fault in him that he may be executed. The examples abound in and out of scriptures, and it has continued even till today. No wonder the Messiah taught us: Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. For the worst and most painful is betrayal from those who we call family or friends. But wait, could you have an enemy if they were not first friends, or presumed friends. Selah! David in Psalm 31, cried out for God's help to keep him from enemies. He understood that his trust and ...
