HOW CAN I FORGET GOD?

Psalms 63:6&7 When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. Each new day, week, month, year or season brings its own atmosphere. It could be for a rejoicing, a challenge or at first it could seem uncertain. The Psalm this morning talks of being so conscious of God's presence that it overshadows all. DO YOU REMEMBER HIM? Some would ask, how can I forget God? Well when your denomination, your pope, bishops, general overseers, priests, pastors, prophets, job, business, friends, entertainment, fears, worries etc have taken the place of God in your life, listen brethren, you have forgotten God! This is what He said: Isaiah 42:8 “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols. Never forget Who He is What He has done What He can do What He will do For He remains the God Almighty. Instead of filling up ourselves wi...

MERCY

Genesis 39:21 But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. There is no way we pass through this life without facing challenges and difficulties. Even Christ echoed it. John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Unless you have faced these situations you may remain theoretical about it. For it is easier to go comfort one facing an issue than to be comforted when one faces the situation. Truly some situations may even be so harsh that one would prefer to leave the world. However the Lord desires that we live out our time here on earth and to live it well. Glory to God that we are not left on our own. We are taken care of: Hebrews 4:15-16 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the thro...

DON'T FALL FOR IT

Romans 1:28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.  . There a big move now of some trying so hard to draw people away from Christ, these people thinking that they are the smart ones who have been liberated, talk against the bible. They demonize the old testament and call the new testament false. The whole idea is that they are free from religion and all its vices. However, this is where the err! Our salvation is not a religion. Yes religions are man-made, God has no religion. However salvation is God made, His plan of the redemption of man fulfilled. We must understand that the whole plan of the enemy is to take us away from God. 1Thessalonians 3:5 For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor might be in vain. Do we remember this conversation: Job 1:7,12 “Where have you come from?” the...

Our Body

Romans 8:11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. The power of resurrection, God's Holy Spirit, dwells in you if you have the new birth. He quickens our mortal bodies and thus makes us live as we should. That is living to please the Heavenly Father. However we cannot do this without knowledge. 2 Peter 1:4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. The difference is made by knowledge: 2 Peter 1:5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, This knowledge is the knowledge of God, the more you learn of God by His Spirit, the more you bec...

HE CONQUERED, SO WE CONQUER!

Ephesians 4:8-9 That is why the Scriptures say, “When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.” Notice that it says “he ascended.” This clearly means that Christ also descended to our lowly world. What did Christ do for us, He came, He died and He rose from the dead. So what happened when Christ died? 1 Peter 3:19-20 So he went and preached to the spirits in prison— those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood. How did He do this? He had to bind the strong man of the house. Mark 3:27 "No one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house. Selah To set captives free: It was a battle that made Him declare when He arose: Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. We mu...

ALL IS WELL

1Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. The world we live in, is full ups and downs. We have goals, dreams and responsibilities, sometimes it could seem so overwhelming. To focus so hard on some issues could bring us down and affect us negatively. No matter what it is, Christ has taken care of it, we just enter into it. What do scriptures say? 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. This we find difficult to do sometimes, we want to be part of the solution. It becomes an issue when we are not careful enough to listen to instructions. Our attitude should be that of thanksgiving, after we have cast our burden on Christ. In our patience we hear His instructions and see clearly to know what part to follow. For that which is most important for us here is life and good health, once He grants us these, the others He will yet do. Praise His Holy Name. So get out of that depressive thought, let go of the decis...

My mind

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. One thing the resurrection power gave to us, is the mind of Christ. Remember that corruption begins with the mind. That is how the serpent deceived Eve: 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. Our mind must be filled with the knowledge of the truth of God's word. We must know, believe and accept who we have become in Him. We must not accept captivity again. Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Our mind must be set on things above, on the Heavenly Father for we have been translated by the resurrection. Colossians 1:12-14 always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inh...

NO PAIN, NO GAIN

Luke 24:25-27 Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?” Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. Things really got messed up at the fall of man, for what man did was to reject God. From that time what God warned them of, befell them, death! Thus for man to get fruit out of the earth He had to toil. The position of authority was lost in the place of disobedience, such that animals who were at our command became a threat to us: Genesis 4:7 You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” 1Samuel 13:14 "But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD h...

THE RETURN OF CHRIST

Philippians 3:20-21 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control. We have not forgotten where we are headed, what we have become and to whom we belong. Our life does not end here. For though we do not see Him now, we know that we will see Him and also be with Him. Halleluyah So if we carry this truth in our heart we should be encouraged to live the type of life He wants us to live. Not in filth or carelessness but in the power of His Spirit. That when He returns we will receive His rewards. Some may say: "Is there anything to be worried about, no one can take our crown, it is already guaranteed?". The scriptures implies otherwise: Revelation 3:11  "Behold, I come quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. We ...

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR FATHER?

Matthew 5:48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. This is one of the scriptures that make people say things like "it is impossible to please God". The reasoning is that no one can be perfect. Well, the truth is that you believe, you become and you belong. Selah Are we ready to be like the family we became a member of? It is one thing to be adopted into God's family it is another to walk in the ways of the kingdom. Titus 1:16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. What we profess, we must prove for we cannot say we know God then work in iniquity. 1John 3:3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. For we must remember what Christ said: Matthew 7:20&21  "Therefore by their fruits you will know them.  "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of...

WHY WE BELIEVE

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; Really believe is a choice, that is, we could choose to believe or choose not to. Many people follow one religion or the other because they were born into it. However there comes the time in adulthood when one must "answer their name". What and Why do you believe? Some are privileged to be able to see through the options offered in the world and then decide to pick one to follow. Some could even conclude that they would follow none. Some could also conclude that there is no God! Whatever it is, one truth remains. "You could always choose your actions or take your decisions, but remember YOU DO NOT CONTROL THE CONSEQUENCES! Psalm 50:22 "Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver: So we share the truth with all. John 3:16-18 “For this is ho...

STAY WITH THE BRETHREN

Philippians 1:27 Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. The revelation of the Gospel of Christ, that is, what He has done that all men may be reconciled to God, is the most important assignment Christ left with us when He left the earth. We must bear this message in our lifestyle, evangelism and in good works. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Matthew 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. For this purpose, as Paul explained, we conduct ourselves properly, as citizens of heaven which we ought to be, that together we fulfil this purpose. Thus we must remind ourselv...

A DAY OF PRAISE

Psalms 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. We don't always have to make  everyday a day of requests, battles and anxieties. We could take a day like today to give God praise all the way. One good way is the counsel of old - counting your blessings! The first is to thank God for life. Above everything we put our mind on concerning our life here on earth, we must be grateful for the grace to be alive. For it is when we have life that any other thing matters. Thus the Psalmist says: Psalm 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD. Yes, for truly, that which you worry about only matters because you still have breath in you. Yes, it is human to want to worry. However we live by the spirit and not the flesh! Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Turn your worries into prayer, praise and meditation of the word. The Heavenly Fath...

OUR MASTER ABOVE ALL

Colossians 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Surely there is a limit on what we can choose. Yes there are things that are not completely in our control, we are brought into them. For instance, we did not choose who our parents, siblings or children would be! The same way there is a limit to our choice of who we work under or serve. For instance Joseph could not decide Potiphar or his wife's character. He just had to serve them. Knowing this, what do we do? Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; This is why Joseph said: Genesis 39:9  [There is] none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou [art] his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? Joseph knew who he served! Not Potiphar, but God the Almighty. We see that later on, Potiphar and his wife had to answer to Him. Genesis 41:4...

BE PATIENCE, ALWAYS GIVE THANKS

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; We should not allow the things that are still requests to us blind us from thanksgiving. For what God has done for us far outweighs anything that could ever be our request. Most times we feel, "oh this is so important, so urgent, a necessity". However, He who knows all sees deeper and further than we can. That is why the scripture say that patience is a virtue for anyone who will follow Christ. Luke 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls. James 1:4 But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Thus we cannot be led by His Spirit without patience. Today let us give thanks as we remind ourselves of how good our God is to us. Think, you will see that He has been faithful through the years. Let this make you treat others with love, stop the hate, jealousy, backbiting and all other forms of witchcraft. If God has bee...

YOU ARE MORE THAN THIS

John 21:3,15 Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing.”“We’ll come, too,” they all said. So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night. After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.”“Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. It is natural for every human to have something they are passionate about, some activity, job, sport, hubby or career they feel they cannot do without. (What is yours?) However, we must never sacrifice our assignment to satisfy it. It is worse still if we give room for bad habits or even addictions. We must be deligent and excellent in our earthly work for that is a must for all believers, mediocrity and laziness are not acceptable in the kingdom of God, so here on earth, all believers must excel. So in that job, position, business or office, you must be found blameless, with integrity, deligent and excellent in your role. There is no excuse! The same also appl...

GROW DEEP ROOTS

Colossians 2:7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. The strength of a tree lies on how deep and strong the roots are. The foundation tells if the house will stand or fall. We as believers have our foundation in Christ Jesus. And what a strong rock He is. Never shaken, always rigid, stronger than any other. For there is no other. Selah 1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner [stone]; Thus when the foundation is right every other part will stand. So what do we do? Colossians 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Yes, knowing that we should reject anything that contradicts Christ in our lives, ...

WHO IS THIS JESUS?

Colossians 1:15-20 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled  everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. Yes it got to the time during Christ's earthly sojourn, when He had to ask his disciples who people say He was. He then finally asked who the disciples thought He was. The ...

WHAT IS YOUR PRIORITY?

Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Our lives here on earth ought to carry this same testimony. That we please the Lord in all our doing. This we do by being fruitful in all good works and increasing in the knowledge of God. This is why we continue in prayer for ourselves and for the brethren. Colossians 1:9 So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Instead of these, many have made other desires a priority. When we look at the christians in the early church, their priority was to pray for boldness to preach the gospel and grace to fulfil the purpose. The answer followed by the increase in the power of the Holy Spirit. Acts 4:29-31 And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch ou...

YOU MUST GIVE

Luke 12:48 But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. Understand giving from the standpoint of channels. We were not designed to accumulate but to be channels through which blessings flow. If we know what our request entails, most of us would modify our desires and requests. For we do not just receive without accountability. No, everything has its purpose. We must not forget that what we possess, we are accountable for. The more we have, the more we account for.  In the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. Lazarus had so little, not just about money he could not even boast of health. The rich man had everything working for him. So the judgment was expected, you cannot account for what you did not handle.  So on giving, who and who are we to give to.  *The Heavenly Father.  First...

GIVING IS A BLESSING

2 Corinthians 8:3 For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will. It is the nature of the believer to give for we follow after the nature of Jesus the Christ. Not by compulsion, but a duty and out of love: 2 Corinthians 8:3,9 For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will. You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich. Can our giving ever get to this stage? To give all. That is why we call our Heavenly Father the El Shaddai! The Almighty, that He can keep pouring or showering on us and yet will never be exhausted. So we cannot give all, for we give from what we have. "However we give all to God, He entrusts us with what we have, for what do we have that we have not received?" Selah So set yourself free, do not let your giving o...

BE CONTENT

1 Timothy 6:6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. Not all will be wealthy in the land, some would surely have needs, thus when the law was given through Moses these ones were catered for. In the church, some special set of people had to be catered for: Acts 6:1-2 But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food. So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. These were people with genuine needs, who needed to be catered for. Contentment would make you give as a believer, for the excess you have is entrusted to you to provide for someone else. This is true christian love. The lazy, or financially foolish, are not the needy. Proverbs 13:4,11,25 Lazy people want much ...

HOW YOU LAY YOUR BED . . .

Galatians 6:7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. While others slept, they kept watch; while others had fun, they invested the time in reading, studying, meditating; while others stayed idle, they practiced again and again. Then others wondered why they got there, why they are so skilled, so blessed, so favoured. Proverbs 22:29 Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people. Do we want to be spiritual giants, do we want to be spiritually mature, enjoying the full glory of what Christ has done for us, then we must wake up from our spiritual sleep. Don't get sucked in with the philosophies and arguments. Don't be trapped in religion. What exactly do you have to lose? !!! For it is what you sow, you reap! Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corrupt...

THINK BEFORE YOU ACT

Proverbs 13:16 NLT Wise people think before they act; fools don’t—and even brag about their foolishness. I have come to understand that before we do anything, there is that brief moment when we have to decide. It could be in seconds or we may have longer moments to think about it, no matter the length, every action is premeditated. Sometimes we do not allow that brief moment, ( I am guilty of this) this may cause us to err, and if we are God's we feel so bad about it. Therefore we must decide, to take the right actions. Proverbs 4:26 NLT Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Here the Holy Spirit helps us, if only we are patient to allow Him to have His way. We need to feed ourselves with the word more than all other things that want to occupy our heart or mind. Psalms 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. This is what every believer should practice and develop, so that we do not err. James 1:16 Do not err, my beloved ...

YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE?

Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it]. The grace of God upon man comes with the ability of man to believe. This is so essential that God would not drag us into anything if we refuse to believe. I believe as I have often taught that it is as a result of how God created us, "a replica of Himself here on earth". Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. This I call the power of choice, that is, not being forced into anything but be able to decide what we do. This thus makes us fully accountable. This is why when people say, "why...

HE DIED AND ROSE, WHY?

Colossians 1:22 Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. Today we remember Christ's death and resurrection! How great a redemption, paid with so such a great price. That we who were born in sin and rejected would now be presented to the Heavenly Father as HOLY, BLAMELESS and WITHOUT FAULT! That is what Yeshua Hamashiach, Jesus the Christ did for us. Halleluyah So when God looks at us He doesn't see our shortcomings or faults but He sees the perfect Christ. Glory. Can this be everyone's portion? Yes,  Jew or Gentile, no matter who we are. This grace is given to all who believe! Colossians 1:21 This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all ...

WE WIN

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD. This prophecy made to the children of Israel long time ago is not limited to them but it applies to all that the Lord calls righteous, we understand that God's righteousness is in Christ Jesus. So we are called righteous by God in Christ Jesus. Glory. Are there battles, yes, most times we are not aware of them. Do we have to worry, NO, why? God sends His warring angels to fight these battles and most times we have No knowledge of it. When Christ died as we remember this season, He said it is finished. He paid the full price for our sins delivering us from the power of sin and death. He resurrected given us total victory over the enemy. So as He died, we died to sin and death and as He rose, we rise into everlasting life. Glory to God. G...

YOUR STRENGTH

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, build up your strength in union with the Lord and by means of his mighty power. Where does your strength lie? After all said and done, one will need to prove where one's strength lies. Is it during times of challenges, trials, even in times of peace, much work or when one is at rest? Where your anchor is rested, will definitely be questioned and tested. David was a king with great military might and with soldiers who could give their life for him yet he said: Psalms 20:7& 8 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Isaiah said: Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Be careful who and where you seek for help. The long term is important ...

O HOW MUCH GOD LOVES US!

Lamentations 3:22-23 The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Psalms 5:3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Jehovah; in the morning I will direct my prayer to You, and I will look up. Can we exhaust the love of God towards us? No, for He makes it possible for us to: * be alive today * be in good health * have food and can eat * have sense organs and can use them * have people around us, and we can communicate with them * have something to act on (even worry about) * be saved through His Grace in Christ Jesus * come boldly to His throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) . . . the list is endless! What of our family, source of income and many other things. He now crowns it all with eternal assurance for those who believe. What a great God. Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Can we take today...

THERE IS NO GOD!

1 Peter 1:8-9(NLT) You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. Great things are conceived not by what has been seen but by what has not been seen. High flyers, achievers and inventors are not those who walk by what they see but those who have not yet seen but believed. So it is with the Heavenly Father we have not physically seen Him but we believe, for He has displayed Himself with every of His creation. Romans 1:19-20 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. These things are not a coincidence, just the same way our conception and birth is not a coincidence. This sa...
