GOD COMFORTS US

2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. This is why God allows us to go through these troubles, we experience His comfort, then in turn we are able to comfort others. For Paul described two attributes of God's nature: 2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed [be] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; *Father of mercies *God of all comfort All glory to His name. Furthermore Paul prayed: Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. So no matter what we experience, we must understand that God's intention for us is always for good. We must know by His Spirit what to reject and what to accept. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you ...

Power in the Psalms

Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep [you] from evil. When we read the psalms and other prophetic books of the scriptures we should remember: Colossians 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ. Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, [that] thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. The potency of these books is still certain today as it was in old times. God respects His inspired word and that was why Jesus declared himself from these scriptures: Isaiah 61:1&2 The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the capti...

YOUR HEALING

Malachi 4:2 But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. Our Loving Father The desires that we should be in good health. When we talk of healing it goes also includes emotion, mental and psychological healings. For many walk around looking strong yet they carry the burden of depression, hurts, traumas and many more aftermath of unpleasant experiences and betrayal. The healing of the Lord covers all that. Jesus was announced as: Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.” It was Christ reading Isiah 61 letting all know why He came. The earth consists of things which could make our natural body weak and fall to sickness. Some ailments were from birth, some dev...

GOD STAYS AWAKE FOR US

Psalm 121:4&5 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD [is] thy keeper: the LORD [is] thy shade upon thy right hand. A song by Don Moen reads: Our God is able. He is mighty. He is faithful. And He never sleeps He never slumbers He never tires of hearing our prayer When we are weak He becomes stronger So rest in His love and cast all of your cares on Him. That is a clear explanation of God's love for us. He stays awake for us! It takes a loving Father to sacrifice so much to take care of His children. All glory to His name. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: It is in Christ Jesus that we enjoy the fruit of the covenant for He is the fulfilment of the covenant. Halleluyah. 2 Corinthians 1:20 For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. We th...

GOD SHOWS UP

Luke 8:43-44 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind [him], and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. This woman had been going through this pain for twelve years. She had visited places, she had spent so much money. All hope seemed lost, but God showed up! Glory. What we preach today is that, as believers who enjoy grace, God dwells in us by his Holy Spirit. 1Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. John 14:17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. ...

WHY SERVE THE LORD?

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Never in vain, yes, however some may begin to ask, why was this person or that person not blessed and yet they served the Lord.  Well, we never truly know the circumstance of a person from a distance, we need to get close. All is not always what it seems. One truth is sure though, the Lord does not disappoint, He doesn't fail. 1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you]. Some would ask: how do I serve the Lord, is it by joining church activities? Yes, that is part of it but serving the Lord goes beyond just the gathering and activities. It entails our everyday life.  Our family Our job/work/business Our neighborhood Our communities Our nation What do...

BE GOOD, IT IS WORTH IT.

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. It is not strange to get tired of doing good. We understand that the world we live in cannot be described as good because of the system operating in it. We therefore need to look beyond it to see the reason for continuing in good works. 1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Most who walk in wickedness or unrighteousness either do not believe in the life after or have chosen to ignore or blur it out of their minds. Therefore, when they think that it ends here, it is almost as if they say "there is no God". 1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; However, we know that it goes beyond here, our spirit bears us witness that this world is not all there is, we will yet live after here and ...

WE TESTIFY

Psalms 71:7-8 My life is an example to many because you have been my strength and protection. That is why I can never stop praising you; I declare your glory all day long. We cannot afford to speak only of the difficulties, trials and temptations we face. Even some who do not speak out show it in their expression and attitude. We ought to learn to testify of His goodness. How Our attitude. Psalm 18:49 Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name. For those who receive good also give out good. Those who receive evil are expected to also show forth its attitude. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. We show forth the character that displays the home we come from. Thus if we have been reborn, gotten the new birth, we testify of the heavenly. There is no excuse, we live in times wh...

BETRAYAL

John 18:2 And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples. In man, one cannot put absolute trust, for man is fallible. It was recorded concerning Jesus that: John 2:24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all [men], We cannot delete betrayal from the world, it has been, it is and will still be after we have left. However we must not be the culprit! Jesus warned: Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! Selah God does not pally with those who are truce breakers. For they displease him. They may think they are smart or have taken advantage, some may be out of fear. Whatever it is, it is a show of the lack of love. Remember, there are tears the Lord will not overlook. Have you been betrayed?... Forgive Have you betrayed another? Seek forgiveness and make amends. May we never be counted as sons of perdition. ...

ALL ABOUT LOVE

1 John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. All of God's commandments are summed up in love. Timothy 1:5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, While writing to Timothy, Paul instructed him that the whole essence of the instruction was Love. All begins and will end in love. You do what you do actually because of love. Every action we take is a product of love of one thing or the other. That is why we are instructed: 1John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world. Of course if you love the world all your actions will be limited to please the ...

BE CONNECTED

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. The enemy's plan from the beginning was to disconnect us from the Heavenly Father. Psalms 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. He knew that if man fell like he did, he could dominate man and rule over him. Genesis 3:13  And the LORD God said unto the woman, What [is] this [that] thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. That was the plan of the enemy, by deceit to separate man from God. The enemy's ultimate goal is to disconnect man from God. In the garden of Eden he lied to man,  he said,   "you will not die. . ." but of course man died,  he grew old and died physically but most importantly he began to get separated from God. However God always has the master plan. That which was meant for evil, God converts to good. Romans 5:15 But not as ...

"Little Things" that Matter

Job 36:27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Yes we cannot take for granted the little things we do that add up to make the whole.  For all we are now is a collection of all the "littles" we have been doing.  They collectively come together to form what we are today. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. The things that matter in this life are a collection of little things we do. Nothing should be taken lightly. For when we think it doesn't matter, it could become a "subject matter". A great rock can be brought down by continually chopping off small pieces. Let us keep making those little drops of: * discipline * routines * efforts * readings/study * praye...

BE FREE from IDOLATRY

1Corinthians 10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. It is fear that would lead anyone to pursue worship of a deity symbolized by human hands. It is easy to say for those of us who were born into christian homes. It may not be that simple for those who were born into families where idol/graven image worship was acceptable. In Isaiah 43, God shows how stupid it is to worship graven images: Isaiah 44:9-20 How foolish are those who manufacture idols. These prized objects are really worthless. The people who worship idols don’t know this, so they are all put to shame. Who but a fool would make his own god— an idol that cannot help him one bit? All who worship idols will be disgraced along with all these craftsmen—mere humans— who claim they can make a god. They may all stand together, but they will stand in terror and shame. The blacksmith stands at his forge to make a sharp tool, pounding and shaping it with all his might. His work makes him hungry and weak. It makes him t...

DO NOT TAKE GRACE FOR GRANTED

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? What ensued this statement from Bro. Paul? People do not understand what grace means. People merely define grace as unmerited favour, however the question is, for what? Let us look at how our Messiah, Jesus the Christ described God's expectation from us. Matthew 5:20  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. We are not expected to fare less than the scribes and Pharisees; We are not expected to fare like the scribes and Pharisees; More is expected from us! Matthew 5:20  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. So 1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends...

FIGHT IN CHURCH

1 Corinthians 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? One of the major reasons for division in the church is the differences in revelation. For one knows a part another grabs another part and thus we have variations. However, are they wrong? Some are, all are and all are not! 1 Corinthians 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. We do not know all! However the foundation is sure. 1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. My take is that every gathering should be a completeness of all part and a gift does not make a gathering or a "church". It is a church when all gifts are present and work in harmony. Selah! Yes, there are many fake sects, that are not called of God, or called but have derailed. For where there is a counterfeit, there surely exists the original. However, for those who are walking in the truth, they must ...

WE PRAISE

Exodus 15:11 "Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? There is always a reason to give God praise, for He holds all things together. He has the final say. This is why David sang: Psalm 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! Yes that we are alive, is a reason to give thanks. One thing that looks common for one, is a testimony for another. For we are human and our needs differ. One thing is certain, there are three major things we desire after life: good health, peace and joy. This Christ has promised us that we have through His Spirit. John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore let us not allow mundane thin...

WE SEEK GOD and not . . .

Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the LORD [are] mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. The nature of God had been revealed again and again through the time of old and a few whose hearts were focused on Him could enjoy His mercy and truth, one of them was David. Psalm 25:12  What man [is] he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way [that] he shall choose. Some at that time would have said, "I have kept the law that is enough". However it was them (their soul) that God sought for, that they may seek Him. The focus was to be on God and not ordinances: Psalm 25:12 What man [is] he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way [that] he shall choose. Thus David prophesied that the revelation of that great secret will be to those who feared the Lord: Psalm 25:14 The secret of the LORD [is] with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. See how He began the Psalm: Psalm 25:1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. We must be...

GOD IS CALLING

Isaiah 12:1 And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. The awesome hymn written by a lawyer, William Cowper in 1768, comes to mind. 1 Hark, my soul, it is the Lord; 'tis thy Saviour, hear his word; Jesus speaks, and speaks to thee, 'Say, poor sinner, lov'st thou me? 2 'I delivered thee when bound, and, when wounded, healed thy wound; sought thee wandering, set thee right, turned thy darkness into light. It is the story of God reaching out to sinners by releasing His Word to become flesh that flesh can relate with Him and return to Him. Yes man was rejected by God because of sin, yet it was not man that God rejected but the sin in Him. So the sin had to be removed that we may return to Him. (technically man actually rejected God by disobedience!) Psalm 32:2 Blessed [is] the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit [there is] no guile. God cleans ...

THIS PHASE

Ecclesiastes 7:8(NLT) Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride. Planet earth keeps moving, thus everything in it is moving - "time". This is why at the beginning of a thing we could be so excited. However it will always come to an end. How long does our excitement last? The wisdom in all is that when the time for that season elapses, we ought to have become better and moved to a better place! For we ought to keep moving forward. Could we illustrate with our education system: We were excited when we began our primary education, however in five to six years we have to move away from that phase, we now begin to talk of our secondary education. This initiates a new excitement. In another six years this phase is also over. We move to another phase, a three to seven years in a higher institution, always starting with a period of excitement, then we see the work to be done in that phase. The phase continues, a year of national service. Then a new job, with it...

The blessings of God

Psalm 23:1 The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. If not that man rebelled against God, we would not have had to contend with the difficulties of the flesh, for God said: Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. We should be reminded that the very nature of God is "Goodness" Luke 18:19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none [is] good, save one, [that is], God. Who declares this nature - Yeshua, Jesus the Christ. Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]. Our Heavenly Father is the Father of light and in Him there is no shadow of turning: James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning....

STAY ON TRACK

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life. A happy new month to you. We are grateful for God's grace, mercies and favour that has kept us this far. Do understand that as you celebrate another season, the time ticks on. Selah! One limitation of (we) humans, is our tendency to forget. This is why the Lord instructed Joshua: Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Jesus said: Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Paul said by the Spirit: Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 2T...
