ARE YOU STUCK IN THE MUD?

Psalms 3:3 But your strength, O Lord, is round me, you are my glory and the lifter up of my head. When you do not understand the glory you carry you could succom and be limited to the mundanes. If any man is in Christ he is not just significant here on earth, the heavens respond to him, recognises the sonship and therefore he draws from the heavenly bank. He doesn't rest merely on the rain that falls on the good and bad but dines as a member of royalty. 1Peter 2:9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: We cannot merely sit idle, we are not mediocre, we have a purpose, a mission, we are relevant. Know that even when you sit and do nothing events keep coming up to take your cool and cause you pain. So why not define the events, take charge. Proverbs 16:9 We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Then better to st

KEEP A PURE HEART

1 Chronicles 17:16,26-27 Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and prayed, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? For you are God, O Lord. And you have promised these good things to your servant. And now, it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, so that it will continue forever before you. For when you grant a blessing, O Lord, it is an eternal blessing!” Glory! Truly it is a blessing to be recognized by the Heavenly Father. I am not talking of people claiming this or that, NO, I am talking of people whose hearts are fully on Him. Those God commend! John 2:24-25 But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people. No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart. Never get tired of living a pure life, maintaining a heart that is after the Lord and full of His fruit. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Hebr

DON'T FORGET YOUR FAMILY

1 Chronicles 16:43 Then all the people returned to their homes, and David turned and went home to bless his own family. David had finally succeeded in bringing in the ark. He had given instructions to the priests and also the Levites, everything had been put in place. 1 Chronicles 16:1,4,37,39 They brought the Ark of God and placed it inside the special tent David had prepared for it. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings to God. David appointed the following Levites to lead the people in worship before the Ark of the Lord—to invoke his blessings, to give thanks, and to praise the lord, the God of Israel. David arranged for Asaph and his fellow Levites to serve regularly before the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, doing whatever needed to be done each day. Meanwhile, David stationed Zadok the priest and his fellow priests at the Tabernacle of the lord at the place of worship in Gibeon, where they continued to minister before the Lord. He even wrote the song to be sang: 1 Ch

NOT JUST FEELINGS

Proverbs 14:29 People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. We as humans were made in the image of God and we therefore carry His attributes, we have feelings, yes God does have feelings from the little we know of Him. However, not like we humans. Acts 17:29 "Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising. So ofcourse we get angry, we are excited, we laugh, we love, we are unhappy sometimes and so on and so forth. "The issue is not how we feel."  This cannot be over-emphasized. Many a great men, inventors, achievers, and leaders would never have made it if they had depended on their feelings. Feelings can be a fraud, feelings deceive 😀 Yes the mood will change, we could get depressed, discouraged, delayed, disappointed but we can not afford to give in to them. We stay strong, we listen to our spirit not our e

DO THE RIGHT THING

1 Chronicles 15:2,13,28 Then he commanded, “No one except the Levites may carry the Ark of God. The Lord has chosen them to carry the Ark of the Lord and to serve him forever.” Because you Levites did not carry the Ark the first time, the anger of the Lord our God burst out against us. We failed to ask God how to move it properly.” So all Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant with shouts of joy, the blowing of rams’ horns and trumpets, the crashing of cymbals, and loud playing on harps and lyres. Just do the right thing!  Simple  However, in the flesh it is not that simple. We avoid a lot of problems when we do the right thing. David had a good intention in bringing the ark of the covenant to the city of David, however as we saw in chapter 13, he didn't do it the right way. When dealing with God, just do it the right way. Same thing with dealing with your spouse, parents, children, employer, employee etc. Can we stop making excuses. Hiding under divers reasons. Just do t

MAKE ROOM IN YOUR HEART

1 Chronicles 15:1 David now built several buildings for himself in the City of David. He also prepared a place for the Ark of God and set up a special tent for it. Listen,no matter how much you think about yourself and all concerning you, make sure there is room for the Lord in your heart. Jesus said: Mark 8:36-38 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” I love this song "make room", written by  John Mark Hall, Matt Maher and sang by  Casting Crown Chorus: Is there room in your heart? Is there room in your heart? Is there room in your heart For God to write His story? You are bothered so much about people, what will they say, what will they do, what will they think of me. Have you taken time to think of what God thi

WATCH OUT, DO THE WORK.

1 Chronicles 14:8,16-17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they mobilized all their forces to capture him. But David was told they were coming, so he marched out to meet them. So David did what God commanded, and they struck down the Philistine army all the way from Gibeon to Gezer. So David’s fame spread everywhere, and the Lord caused all the nations to fear David. Listen, the fact that God has done it for you does not mean that you should sleep off. It doesn't mean that the opposer would stop, they may even see reason to come test that which you now claim. Selah. The apostle wrote: 2 Corinthians 2:11 so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes. Be ready at all times, don't create room for temptation and do not fall into any. And when they arise, know that you have victory already! You got that admission, not to play, but to study and put in your best, that is the key to your success  You got that jo

DO YOU QUESTION GOD?

Luke 18:8b But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” No matter the level of maturity a believer seems to attain, there will still be some things that are not fully comprehended. I remember teaching once in a youth conference, that if you have not questioned your faith before or asked about God's existence before, you may still do so once in this life time. So get it clear and over with once and for all. The doubts, unbelief and questioning could be a total distraction from achieving quality fulfilment in God's purpose for our lives. We are not insignificant, valueless or having no say, yet we are human, from dust in the body but sustained by God's spirit and possess a soul, which is living because God breathed into us. Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God made man from the dust of the earth, breathing into him the breath of life: and man became a living soul. He remains God no matter how familiar or carefree we become. Difficulties, persec

DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY

1 Chronicles 13:7,9-10,12 They placed the Ark of God on a new cart and brought it from Abinadab’s house. Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the cart. But when they arrived at the threshing floor of Nacon, the oxen stumbled, and Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the Ark. Then the Lord’s anger was aroused against Uzzah, and he struck him dead because he had laid his hand on the Ark. So Uzzah died there in the presence of God. David was now afraid of God, and he asked, “How can I ever bring the Ark of God back into my care?” Have you began a new project, a new family, a new job, a new ministry and then suddenly something just seemed to go wrong? You feel you have done everything right and you have made all the necessary preparations and that God was with you, then like a flash something just goes wrong? That was exactly how David felt when he went to bring back the ark of the covenant. 1 Chronicles 13:2-4,6 Then he addressed the entire assembly of Israel as follows: “If you approve and if it

NO MATTER WHAT, WE WIN

1 Chronicles 12:38-40 All these men came in battle array to Hebron with the single purpose of making David the king over all Israel. In fact, everyone in Israel agreed that David should be their king. They feasted and drank with David for three days, for preparations had been made by their relatives for their arrival. And people from as far away as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali brought food on donkeys, camels, mules, and oxen. Vast supplies of flour, fig cakes, clusters of raisins, wine, olive oil, cattle, sheep, and goats were brought to the celebration. There was great joy throughout the land of Israel. How we desire to have a time of rest where there is no question about our status and position, instead all come to rejoice with us. Do you know that there is a time like this when the whole of heaven rejoice over a person? Luke 15:7a In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God Dear child of God keep spreading the gospel, keep lett

WHEN GOD HELPS YOU

1 Chronicles 12:18 Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, the leader of the Thirty, and he said,  “We are yours, David!   We are on your side, son of Jesse.  Peace and prosperity be with you,      and success to all who help you,      for your God is the one who helps you.” So David let them join him, and he made them officers over his troops. Do God still intervene in the affairs of men? Before we answer this question let us look at how it was in the beginning, after God made the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1,27-28 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. So God created human beings in his own image.  In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” So man was created to be like God on earth and rule over everything on earth. If you read with understanding yo

ABOVE THE STORM

2 Timothy 2:1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. As long as we live here on earth there will be times when the storm would rage. When things may not look as we want it to. When our faith is challenged. Truly it is an illusion to the believer, yes because just as the disciples were afraid with Jesus in the boat the same way we may become afraid thinking we are alone. Let us be reminded that nothing stands to be accepted as true or as what it is, till it has passed its own test. 1 Peter 1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, Revelation 2:2 "I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; Every promotion comes after the test has been passed. Yes it might look dif

DON'T WORSHIP IMAGES!

Ephesians 5:5 Being certain of this, that no man who gives way to the passions of the flesh, no unclean person, or one who has desire for the property of others, or who gives worship to images, has any heritage in the kingdom of Christ and God. Very scary truth, but of this, God wants us to beware of . . . Exodus 2: 4 - 5a "You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. When you read the old testament you have to read it without the veil. 2 Corinthians 3:16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. That is the gift of God, liberty from ignorance of Grace and who God is. Today this image therefore is not only graven idols as in pagan worship but just as the enemy has modified other types of deceit, the images have also been modified. What is an image? A representation of something, be

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER?

1 Chronicles 12:2,8,14 All of them were expert archers, and they could shoot arrows or sling stones with their left hand as well as their right. They were all relatives of Saul from the tribe of Benjamin. Some brave and experienced warriors from the tribe of Gad also defected to David while he was at the stronghold in the wilderness. They were expert with both shield and spear, as fierce as lions and as swift as deer on the mountains. These warriors from Gad were army commanders. The weakest among them could take on a hundred regular troops, and the strongest could take on a thousand! David had become king in Israel, he was recruiting men into the army, mostly in leadership positions. Reading through 1 Chronicles chapter 12, you see the caliber of men he recruited, you read CVs like: 1 Chronicles 12:14b . . .The weakest among them could take on a hundred regular troops, and the strongest could take on a thousand! Can you beat this, the weakest amongst  them could take a hundred regular

DANGEROUS TIME OUT

Matthew 26:41 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” After a stressfull day or week, after a series of challenges or it could even be after a glorious time in His presence, maybe even for days and weeks and maybe with fasting. It may even be after a spiritual battle. Matthew 4:2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. The body may begin to look for an outing, a time to unwind, or to breathe a bit, away from all the toil. It is at this time that some may fall into temptation. Depending on the level of christian maturity, one may desire to try out something new. If one falls, then conscience takes its toll. The enemy begins to speak condemnation. In military they say "watch out for the last man" when it seems the whole battalion has passed by, an attempt to come out of the safe zone could attract the last man trailing behind, then he brings down the whole battalion.

GET OUT OF THAT FILTH

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. It is unlikely that anyone would desire to live in sin, fulfilling the lust of the flesh. Even philosophers believe that man was created good. The bible talks of the original sin which man is exposed to because of the sin of Adam. As we go day by day in this world we can't but get rubbed by the influence of the world system, of course the bible says it contradicts God's system. James 4:4 - 5 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? Now the believer has God's Spirit dwelling inside, yet the effect of the Spirit is only activated in obedience. 1 Peter 1:22 Since you h

ARE YOU SURE?

1 Corinthians 3:13 each one's work will become manifest; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. We could set out a principled lifestyle. To make people take us as this or that type of person. We could make such and such claim. "The truth is everyones' work will go through the fire test." We could claim perfection but have we gone through tests, have we proved what we claim? Sometimes stereotyping changes: "Your feeling at this moment may not be the same when the weather changes" * Don't tell me how humble you are until you have a place of power * Don't tell me how prudent you are, till you are handling lots of money * Don't tell me how patient you are until you have dealt properly with your spouse, children, employer or employee and your neighbours * Don't tell me how much faith you have, until you have nothing and no promise from anywhere * Don't t

MINISTER OF RECONCILIATION

2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. The message of salvation is reconciling man to God. This reconciliation was done in Christ Jesus, God revealed in the flesh.  2 Corinthians 5:18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, We who have found rest in Jesus have a duty to lead others to this same reconciliation. Wait a minute, who stands to lose by this? The enemy, Satan. So does he stand back and watch, no, what does he do. He keeps believers: * busy with arguments and philosophy. 2 Corinthians 11:3  But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. * too busy serving Luke 10:40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care tha

BY FAITH

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Our faith in God is definitely not limited to our feelings or our emotions. We cannot trust our feelings and emotions, they fluctuate day after day Explaining God intellectually is actuality a futility. He is Spirit and cannot be limited by the five senses. That's why the law was actually a bondage. It is not wisdom trying to live to please a Spirit based on our senses. It has to be by faith. Salvation itself is a product of faith. Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. It could never be by works, your faith will produce works. Because anything done out of faith is sin. Romans 14:23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, He

YOU CHOOSE YOUR PLACE

1 Samuel 2:8 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. "For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and He has set the world upon them. This was the song Hannah sand when she received her breakthrough. She prophesied giving God glory! Listen, you get to pick your place, time and again. This doesn't have to be to what degree, no, that is God's disposition. Yet you must decide if you are the . . . * giver or beggar * good example or the bad influence * teacher or one needing correction * one showing love or the one demanding * the one sick or the one needing healing * the one offending or the one offended * saved or needing to be saved * knowing or being ignorant As a believer we have the power to declare what we desire and the Lord will make it happen. For this to stand, we must enrich ourself with the word of God. There is a process John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, a

DON'T GIVE UP

Luke 18:1 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. Ask those who have made it in one aspect of their life or the other, there is no easy way about it, there would be times you want to give up, you feel it is too hard or you think you would not be able to make it, if you are able to pass this phases then victory is sure. Jesus used a parable about a widow who wanted justice in a dispute with her enemy. We don't know what the matter was. Was her land taken from her? Was she being denied her rights? We do not know for sure what it was but she wanted justice and she persistently requested it from the judge. Now let us look at the description of the judge: Luke 18:4 The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, He was a man who had no fear of God and no regard for people, this is the worst scenario that Christ painted here. Now, why did he answer her? Luke 18:5 but this w

ARE YOU FREE?

John 8:36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Truly Jesus was, is and will be the only one who can make this claim. No other person has the power to give this liberty no matter how wise their teaching or power their influence or how dynamic people claim their life was. Yet only one came from the Father to fulfil the Father's wish and returned to the Father after making us, who believe, sons also. John 13:3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, John 3:13 "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. Man was born into the bondage of sin, which originally separates man from his maker. The mentality of slavery keeps one in bondage and makes him/her think that there is something needed to be done to find favour in the eyes of the master. So one in bondage tries to follow laws, follow practices and keeps seeki

BE A GOOD INFLUENCE

Proverbs 15:23 A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is! Everyone has a circle of influence, people who are affected by what you say or do. It could be large or small no matter the size it remains our sphere of influence and God expects us to affect that circle positively. You are there to influence positively. If *  the souls of these ones are important to you, you will lead them to Jesus the Christ. *  their mind is important you will feed them with the word of God and Godly counsel. * their future is important to you, you will always tell them the truth and gear them to accomplish more. * their needs and welfare is important, you will reach out to them no matter how little you can give. * you love them, you will pray for them. Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. The right question to ask is: WHEN MY TIME IS OVER, WHAT WILL I BE REMEMBERED FOR? Philippians 4:8 F

YOU CAN START TODAY

Jeremiah 1:10 Today I appoint you to stand up  against nations and kingdoms.  Some you must uproot and tear down, destroy and overthrow.  Others you must build up and plant.” Many a great thing we could achieve, many accomplishments we miss because we feel it is late. Listen, who set the time in the first place? Do you know that your greatness is tied to tough decisions you have to make. Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. That idea, that great revelation came to you because you have a part to play, to bring it to pass. Daniel 2:22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what [is] in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. The first thing is to discover your pathway with God then you allow the Holy Spirit lead you all the way but also remember that you can BEGIN TODAY! The road to success is not a smooth highway we must learn when to slow down, speed up and even when to park and rest awhile, but in all we must keep progressi

DO NOT SINK

Matthew 14:30-31 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” The world and all its issues are like a big sea which each of us have to walk on. Every step we take leads us forward progressively to fulfil our goals, to accomplish our purpose. However we must stay afloat, for if we sink we have failed! For us to stay afloat, we need to do these * stay light: get rid of all unnecessary burden of sin, guilt, hate, tribalism, religions, worry and so on. Romans 13:12 - 14 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts

Aligned Your Thoughts To Him

Amos 3:3 can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Truly it is difficult for two to walk together without agreeing. This prophesy came to Amos when the Lord was angry with Israel He reminded them of His delivering them from Egypt and further taking them as His family yet they decided to walk in their own way in variance with God's will for them. The Lord also called us as family in the new Israel, a reaching to the whole world. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name: Hebrews 2:11 For he who makes holy and those who are made holy are all of one family; and for this reason it is no shame for him to give them the name of brothers, When we meditate on the way the children of Israel messed up in their relationship with God, we marvel at how great their unbelief was. Upon all the Lord showed to them they just couldn

CAN I INVEST IN YOU?

Matthew 25:14,16,20 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. “The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’ A story is told of a man who invested in a bank the first year, he lost almost all of his investment, the bank asked for more the next year, he re-invested and still again he neither regained his investment nor made any profit. Should he re-invest the next year? John 15:2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Every one's work will be tested to determine its value 1Corinthians 3:13 each one's work will become mani

DON'T BE A HYPOCRITE

Matthew 5:20 “But I warn you—unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven! In His days on earth as a man, Christ told us to beware of the leaven of the religious teachers, there was a lot of woes against the Pharisees and teachers of the law. Why was this? They were hypocrites! Matthew 23:13,15 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either. “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are! They teach one thing but practice another. Very quick to seat on the judgment seat against others but they never call themselves to order. They try to look good on the outsi

ARE YOU LED BY THE SPIRIT?

Isaiah 59:21" As for Me," says the LORD, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants," says the LORD, "from this time and forevermore." Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. We know that the only way to be God's child is our believing in His Son and accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour then He now lives in us by the Holy Spirit. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name: Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Acts 2:38 Th
