WHEN GOD HELPS YOU

1 Chronicles 12:18

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, the leader of the Thirty, and he said,

“We are yours, David!

We are on your side, son of Jesse.

Peace and prosperity be with you,

and success to all who help you,

for your God is the one who helps you.” So David let them join him, and he made them officers over his troops.

Do God still intervene in the affairs of men?

Before we answer this question let us look at how it was in the beginning, after God made the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1,27-28

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

So God created human beings in his own image.

In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

So man was created to be like God on earth and rule over everything on earth.

If you read with understanding you will see that God had already blessed the earth for man and made the system work for man's good.

After the fall man lost this full control and the earth was now difficult to cultivate for him so he had to put lots of effort to get results.

Genesis 3:17-19

And to the man he said,

“Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat,

the ground is cursed because of you.

All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.

It will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of its grains.

By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you return to the ground from which you were made.

For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.”

So though man would still reap from the treasures of the earth but this time he had to work hard to get it.

So, any believer practicing laziness would have themselves to blame, no wonder Paul admonished:

2 Thessalonians 3:10-12

Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.”

Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business.

We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living.

That said, does God now intervene specially in people's lives? YES!

From our opening chapter we see God's hand with David to favour him when he became king and this was recognized by everyone. Actually the children of Israel were chosen to be the display of God's intervention to the whole world.

However, know that to him whom much is given, much is expected. The couldn't meet up. Selah

Why would God want to intervene specially on any one's life? It is because of His will, to bring to pass His purpose. Secondly, when  your heart is fully on Him.

1 Samuel 13:14

But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.”

Acts 13:22

But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’

This is the criteria for God's special intervention in the affairs of people.

Someone would ask, what of Christ coming what has this done?

Well Christ coming was not for earthly things He came for heavenly things, to bring us back to the Father that we may be family again. We are no longer strangers to God but now sons. Glory.

They ask further, does God not intervene for every believer? Yes He does, however your will must be in line with His. There must be no confusion.

John 15:7

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

So you cannot work outside of God's will and you expect that He would grant all your requests that would be chaotic!

1 John 5:14-15

And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.

And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.

God would not grant you a request contrary to His will. Take for example one who asks God for his neighbours spouse, that is contrary to God's will, He would not grant it. Simple!

So, are you in God's will, then expect His help.

Pray with confidence, that is with faith and the prayer of faith will heal and bring to pass that which God has promised.

Stay in God's will.

How?

Meditate on His word, stay in prayer, worship. For when You are always in His presence you know His will and abide therein.

God has helped us.

Glory to God.

PRAYER

Loving Father, keep me in Your will, may all I think, say and do be in line with your will. My prayers are answered, You have helped me Lord, I win. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
