DO NOT SINK

Matthew 14:30-31

But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.

Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”


The world and all its issues are like a big sea which each of us have to walk on.


Every step we take leads us forward progressively to fulfil our goals, to accomplish our purpose. However we must stay afloat, for if we sink we have failed!


For us to stay afloat, we need to do these


* stay light:

get rid of all unnecessary burden of sin, guilt, hate, tribalism, religions, worry and so on.

Romans 13:12 - 14

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.


* Focus on Jesus

Hebrews 12:2

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.


* Put on our air bag

Ephesians 6:13

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [STAND!!! afloat]

2 Corinthians 10:4

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,


* Make sure our airbag really has air in it: be filled!!! with the right content . . . the Spirit

Ephesians 5:18b

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,


* Know when to stay in the boat

Hebrews 10:25

not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaches


 If Jesus didn't send you please don't go.


No matter how much you have fallen, don't run away from God instead run to Him for mercy. Stay with your local assembly.


STAY IN THE BOAT!


So to avoid sinking we take these steps and repeat them again, don't take your eyes off Christ that your faith would not be weakened.


Remember so many voices and things are calling your attention but only Christ has your best interest, be wise, obey Him.


Do not sink, stay afloat.


O help us Good Lord.


PRAYER 

Loving Father, by Your power I will not sink, I will stay afloat by the power of your Holy Spirit. I will be steady that I will be strong enough to keep many afloat. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out.
