DON'T GIVE UP
Luke 18:1
One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.
Ask those who have made it in one aspect of their life or the other, there is no easy way about it, there would be times you want to give up, you feel it is too hard or you think you would not be able to make it, if you are able to pass this phases then victory is sure.
Jesus used a parable about a widow who wanted justice in a dispute with her enemy. We don't know what the matter was. Was her land taken from her? Was she being denied her rights? We do not know for sure what it was but she wanted justice and she persistently requested it from the judge.
Now let us look at the description of the judge:
Luke 18:4
The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people,
He was a man who had no fear of God and no regard for people, this is the worst scenario that Christ painted here.
Now, why did he answer her?
Luke 18:5
but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’”
Listen, Christ is not trying to paint a picture of God here or of any good man. He is talking from a worst scenario, that we need to learn from.
Listen.
Luke 18:6
Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge.
That even an unjust or do we say, a wicked judge answered her prayers because of persistence how much more a Good Good Father. Selah
Luke 18:7-8a
Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly!
This is not the first time Christ was making this statement about persistence using a similar scenario.
Matthew 7:7-8,11
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
So He is saying that if we as humans who are evil know how to answer our children with good things, how much more our Heavenly Father!
So you see, never stop praying. Never give up on that which you desire from God. As long as it is good for you, He will come through for you.
Don't give up.
Now what was pushing the continual asking? That same thing is the element that will give you what you request.
FAITH!
So that is why Christ completed the parable by saying:
Luke 18:8b
But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”
As you persist in prayer blessed one, HAVE FAITH!
Help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Lord I believe, help my unbelief. My trust in You is without borders, I depend on You Lord and I will never be disappointed. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
