DO THE RIGHT THING

1 Chronicles 15:2,13,28

Then he commanded, “No one except the Levites may carry the Ark of God. The Lord has chosen them to carry the Ark of the Lord and to serve him forever.”

Because you Levites did not carry the Ark the first time, the anger of the Lord our God burst out against us. We failed to ask God how to move it properly.”

So all Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant with shouts of joy, the blowing of rams’ horns and trumpets, the crashing of cymbals, and loud playing on harps and lyres.

Just do the right thing!

Simple

However, in the flesh it is not that simple.

We avoid a lot of problems when we do the right thing. David had a good intention in bringing the ark of the covenant to the city of David, however as we saw in chapter 13, he didn't do it the right way.

When dealing with God, just do it the right way. Same thing with dealing with your spouse, parents, children, employer, employee etc.

Can we stop making excuses. Hiding under divers reasons. Just do the right things and save yourself the troubles.

The reason why you look for someone to blame is because you keep lying to yourself. Stop it, if anyone should hear the truth from you it should be yourself first.

David's mistake cost a man's life. The same way when we keep doing the wrong things we lose something, the magnitude could be enormous, it is not worth it. Just do the right thing.

Yes, people still exists who will do the wrong things, but it doesn't have to be you.

One thing I love about David is that he always tries to make amends, he owns up and even takes the punishment in good faith then he goes on to do right.

Can we say that of you? Yes me writing this and you reading this!

No believer is expected to suffer for doing the wrong things:

1 Peter 4:15

If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs.

Our nature is that of our Heavenly Father that is to do good. Let us live that way.

Look at the testimony of Daniel:

Daniel 6:4

Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.

Do you see it, they even had to conclude that they only way to get him was to try to tamper with his relationship with God:

Daniel 6:5

So they concluded, “Our only chance of finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion.”

Are we not supposed to be better than this having received the salvation they all saw from a distance?

We have gotten it and also have God living in us by His Spirit. What then is our excuse?

Are you doing the right things as a child of God, His representative on earth (yes in that space you occupy)

Are you doing the right thing as a wife or husband, are you fulfilling your purpose or is your eyes outside and always concerned about the irrelevant?

Are you doing your job properly or just busy complaining about your employer and colleagues?

Are you a good citizen working for the welfare of your nation or you are a hypocrite only criticizing?

Are you a good parent to your children or you are always finding faults with them. Are you a good example for them to follow, or should they seek another?

What are your thoughts, what are those things you say when you think no one is listening.

Save yourself all the mess and troubles.

Philippians 4:8

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Do the right things.

O help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Loving Father, help me to always do the right thing. You are good, help me to be good also. May all I do in thought, word and deed please You. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
