DON'T FORGET YOUR FAMILY

1 Chronicles 16:43

Then all the people returned to their homes, and David turned and went home to bless his own family.

David had finally succeeded in bringing in the ark. He had given instructions to the priests and also the Levites, everything had been put in place.

1 Chronicles 16:1,4,37,39

They brought the Ark of God and placed it inside the special tent David had prepared for it. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings to God.

David appointed the following Levites to lead the people in worship before the Ark of the Lord—to invoke his blessings, to give thanks, and to praise the lord, the God of Israel.

David arranged for Asaph and his fellow Levites to serve regularly before the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, doing whatever needed to be done each day.

Meanwhile, David stationed Zadok the priest and his fellow priests at the Tabernacle of the lord at the place of worship in Gibeon, where they continued to minister before the Lord.

He even wrote the song to be sang:

1 Chronicles 16:7

On that day David gave to Asaph and his fellow Levites this song of thanksgiving to the Lord:

What a powerful leader and priest!

Our take from this chapter, is that after all these he went back to his primary assignment:

1 Chronicles 16:43

Then all the people returned to their homes, and David turned and went home to bless his own family.

His family.

The family is the building block of every society. If we get it right on the family level surely we have already won as a nation.

After all the running here and there, after that beautiful work in your office or business, after all those ministry exploits. Take care of your home.

The home is your primary assignment. Not those other things, no not your business partners, not your supposed friends.

Are you called into ministry? Understand that your first call was to your family, your home is the primary ministry for every believer.

Don't get too occupied that you forget to build your home.

Get it right.

O help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Loving Father help me win as a leader in the home, may I play my part well and not destroy my home but build it up by your Spirit and wisdom. I lean on You Lord thus I win. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
