THERE IS AN END

1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 2Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. We find that most people who decide to live the wrong way and do evil, encourage themselves by trying to push away the truth that there would be an end. It is not as if they do not know this, but they decide to put it aside. Luke 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, [and] be merry. 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. No wonder we have wicked leaders who have no love for the country they represent, neither love for the people that they ought to lead. *YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS LEADING THOSE YOU DO NOT LOVE! We have peopl

STRATEGIZING

Philippians 2:13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. As humans we have this enclosure or limitation of time, that is, we feel that this is the time for this or that, or that we should leave this for this or that time. Truly there are times/seasons for certain events, however we must remember that our Heavenly Father cannot be straight jacketed into times and seasons. This is why Daniel wrote: Daniel 2:21a (KJV) And he changeth the times and the seasons:  We remember what we requested for, from our lecturers before the examinations begin. We ask for the areas of concentration. Rightfully because we serve the God who knows the end before the beginning, He is able to take us ahead. There is nothing as satisfying as being pre-informed. The prophets of old had that privilege and we the later "prophetic" can enjoy even a greater revelation: * That idea that would take your business to the next level in the coming year; * That cours

WHY I PRAISE(a reminder)

Psalms 26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalms 30:11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; She was born into royalty, her father was the king. She did not know what it meant to look for food to eat, to be rejected as a bastard child by one's father and be left to cater for sheep. He was not even called when the other son's were called for one of them to be anointed.  Spear was thrown at him, by the one he came to bring healing to. He had to face a lion and a bear, yet the Lord gave him victory. He had to face one of the greatest giants who ever lived, Goliath and the Lord gave him victory. He had to hide in caves to run away from a king who wanted his head. This is the story of Michal and David. She did not know why he, who was now king, danced and gave thanksgiving to God in such vile a way in front of all his subjects. She had no idea what he had

THE ONLY WAY

1 Timothy 2:5 For,There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture Many have tried to take over the hearts of men. Wise books, wise sayings, nice quotes, impressive philosophies even by fears, wars and intimidations. Yet man is not limited by his intellect or feeling but an inner conviction that tells you "I am more than this". More than the social animal that all these philosophies, intimidations, fear, science or religions would want to reduce us to. If one believes there is God and desire to end on the good side of eternity, one needs to know what is at stake. The parable Jesus gave of the rich man and Lazarus illustrates to us the circumstance that would ensue after we leave this earth. Many things we worry about, wouldn't bother us anymore. That which we may not have considered to be important, then becomes the onl

ARE YOU GRATEFUL?

Psalms 92:1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. I have believed that being grateful is a must attitude for every believer. It is part of our nature. To be acceptable, to have a sweet fragrance towards God and man, is to have a heart of gratitude. There is nothing disgusting and repulsive like an ungrateful heart. Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. He prayed and GAVE THANKS TO GOD, the fact that the law of the land forbade it, did not deter him. Who was the king compared to the mighty God? Pride, self centeredness, greed, ignorance and foolishness are the reasons for ungratefulness. What is difficult in saying thank you for what one has done for you? We show the same to our fellow humans, there is actually nothing too smal

CORRECT YOUR MISTAKES

Ephesians 4:31-32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. A good natured person is obedient to the above verses, for the man God created was good. However, when sin came, it gave man the alternative to do and be what he was not created to be, he died and could not be that God natured. When Christ came He told us what His Spirit will do for us, from salvation to the ability to know things and then to display God's nature, this is what Paul emphasized in Galatians chapter five: Galatians 5:22-26 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them

WE STILL TRUST

Psalms 33:21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Nahum 1:7 The LORD [is] good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. The proof of trust is verified in our times of trouble. We may have a title but what exactly is our name? Difficult times are overcome by simple people who are made extraordinary by the God they trust. Daniel 11:32b But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him. At times of great challenges, the cover sheets and decorations are removed, the real you is revealed. How thick is your skin, how matured are you to understand and how childish are you to trust. Selah Remember it is a testimony because it was a challenge. For to win you must have faced a challenge. There is no price for doing nothing! Our victory comes because the Lord stepped in and showed Himself strong. Then we give Him the glory. The Lord loves to show Himself Strong. Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of

HE WILL YET DO IT

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Some will say I asked for this or that and I did not receive. Some will say, this does not apply to me, however when you look closer and think deeper, you will see your testimonies. When we pray a lot of activities take place, we need to remember that we pray to change things. We must understand that when we change a part, the other part is automatically affected. Take a simple example, two people living in the same house, going on the same path and working in the same place, when they make varying prayers, the first asks for rain while the next asks for sunshine. Which one will you bring to pass? Ephesians 3:20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. However, the Almighty knows how to take care of our requests, see He has been in this business for uncountable centuries, even before then He had bee

THE LORD TAKES CARE OF HIS

Psalm 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. The book of Psalms emphasizes the Lord's favour on those who put their trust in Him. He categorizes them as the righteousness for their way of life pleases the Lord. The Lord calls them blessed: Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him. All through scriptures it has been so, the righteous are those who walk in the will of the Lord, they are humble, they put their trust in the Lord, their nature is love and they do good continually. However the other category are those who choose the path of unrighteousness, they are proud, their feet run to do evil and they do not put their trust in God. Psalm 34:12-14  What man [is he that] desireth life, [and] loveth [many] days, that he may see good?  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. For this reason Christ came

TRUE SONS

Matthew 21:28 But what think ye? A [certain] man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard. There is this misconception by some that a son does not work. When you talk of serving the Lord, it looks strange to them, they sort of resist, feeling that the servant ought to serve while the sons enjoy the riches of heaven. It may not be as direct as it seems, however, it is implied in some of our actions and doings. Jesus said: John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. The proof of a good son is seen in him tilling the father's vineyard, working to make all things be in place, that is a son that deserves inheritance. Luke 15:29-30 And he answering said to [his] father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:  But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots

IN GOD WE TRUST

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Prayer is the only way to bring one's request to God, it has existed so long, yet it still remains. There was a time I used to wonder how God handles all things and how many of us praying at the same time would all be able to get God's attention. How does He take care of all the issues in this world and also those things in heaven. These were childish thoughts. The prophet records God's words: Isaiah 55:8&9 For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. God is indeed great, the mind of man is too small to comprehend the mystery of God, His power, His might, His glory, His splendour, majesty, strength . . . no wonder none have seen Him except the Son. Even Moses was

GOD OF ALL POSSIBILITIES

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. That we would have expectations, desires and challenges is usual, since we are humans and we live in this world. However if we look back through the years, we will see the hand of God steering us through it all. Providing our needs, healing infirmities, answering prayers, fighting our battles even forgiving our faults. Do not forget to always give thanks! Can we say we have pleased God? Could we please God of our own strength? No. Living the christian life could look so bulky it reminds me of the laws of Moses. . . impossible . . . but that is God's speciality taking care of the impossible. Jesus was the solution. Matthew 5:17 “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. The Holy Spirit helps us achieve the will of God. The character of God personalis

IT IS GOOD TO BE GOOD

1 Timothy 4:8-11 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it. This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers. Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. To live the life that is pleasing to God is not foolishness but actually wisdom, reading through the book of Proverbs you find this demarcation. All scriptures actually make this demarcation. When Christ came He also talked of this demarcation: Matthew 25:31-33 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left. In t

LEARN TO TRUST THE LORD

2Corinthians 3:4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: How long have we walked with God, did we just get converted, or have we been believers for years or decades? One thing we must learn to do is to TRUST It is not just something we recite or talk about, it is something we learn to do. I remember entering the examination hall and I knew I had been so overburdened with work and various responsibilities that I wasn't sure what to do or how it would go, the option of cheating kept flashing in my mind. I got my papers and then I began to write, slowly then faster and then faster. Then His Word came to me "Can't you trust me?". I felt so childish, I said "Lord I will trust you?" Yes, if I should be a child for anyone, let it be first of the Heavenly Father first, He knows, He cares, He is patient, He is kind. And of course, He LOVES. Every child must learn to trust their father. Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word

STAY FOCUSED - CONTINUE IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

1 Timothy 4:16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you. You don't sit back and be content to think about it, read about it or even talk about it. You DO IT. One major key to success is continuity, and it is difficult to practice when there is no focus. So we must create straight paths for ourselves so that we and those who follow us, will not fall. Hebrews 12:13 Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong. Listen: John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. We all have

PLAN WITH GOD

Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles.  They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint. The characteristic of the believer is trust in God.  Though there are things that work so directly and easily for us that we do not even bother to pray about them. This does not mean that we rely on ourselves, NO, it is the way the Lord designed things. Remember that the Lord was not always with them at all times in the garden, He gave them free hand to do things and take decisions, for He had already instructed them. Genesis 3:8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. I jokingly tell some people, "Do you ask the Lord permission to eat, to take your b

YOUR SEASON

Psalm 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power.  For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.” When God created man and enabled him to reproduce, He did not leave it to chance. Every human is purposeful and came to be for a reason. The creator Himself is the self sustaining One, the Almighty, what He made was good. For man though we must remember that every thing has its season: Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: Unlike Adam we are created to mature from young to adulthood then to old. We all are each in one of these three phases. YOUNG - ADULT - OLD, all relative to the time we are in. It is wisdom to follow the process, it ensures we are trained, matured and ready to take up

YOU ARE A SPECIAL BREED

1John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. That we live in this version of the world, messed up with wicked politics, sin and injustice, hatred and practice of evil to fellow man, conveteousness, stealing and murder, pretence and lies, backstabbing, sexual immoralities and abominables. A world devoid of LOVE . . . we could become unconscious of who we are in God. We are the light in the midst of the darkness. What happened to us at the new birth was not ordinary, we were reborn to become members of the kingdom of God. John 1:12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 1Peter 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, John 3:7 Marvel not that I said un

THE RIGHT RESPONSE

1 Corinthians 15:58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. We can't always control things that happen, but we can control how we react to them. Jesus said it is impossible for offences not to come but woe unto him through whom they come. Matthew 18:7 "Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense come Luke 17:1 Then He said to the disciples, "It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come Thus the believer must be strong, it is not the situation that matters but your response! Selah So of course there will be hurts and pains "but you should not be the cause!" If they come they shouldn't break you but make you. John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulati

MAN'S WRONG DESIRE

Psalms 14:1  The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. Why would one want to take God out of the equation? One would wonder why anyone would say there is no God. Talk less of a believer. It is because of sin, they desire to do those things God would not approve of, to some, it is the desire to be in control  The rebellious desire is to take God's place, to occupy His seat, to neglect His word. Remember that man's condemnation is actually birthed in unbelieve: John 3:18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. We could then further ask why would the Lord then say to a believer "I do not know you".  The scripture has only one answer to this. Psalms 14:2  The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand,

WHEN TO ACCEPT, WHEN TO REJECT

Psalms 66:10 You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. Psalms 17:2-3 Declare me innocent, for you see those who do right. You have tested my thoughts and examined my heart in the night. You have scrutinized me and found nothing wrong. I am determined not to sin in what I say. One great mistake people make is to tell one off without allowing the person prove their stance. Do we know what they represent, has God revealed anything about them to us? We ought to be cautious yet we need to know when/what to permit and also when/what to dismiss. There are things the scriptures require we run away from at a glance, those things we do not give a second opportunity they include: * sexual sin * gossip * plots to do evil * idolatry * all appearances of evil Proverbs 1:15 my son, do not walk in the way with them, keep your foot from their path; 1Corinthians 10:14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 1Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin tha

LEAVE NO COLLATERAL DAMAGE

Proverbs 3:29 Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he dwells by you for safety's sake. You could say, it can't be me, this is so not me, how could I ever think evil or plot evil against my neighbour. You may be wrong! When your desire to achieve your goals, meet your targets and satisfy your desire drives you to ignore the pain(s) you cause others, you fall into the same error. When you put those under you unto situation you cannot endure, when you owe and refuse to pay, when you refuse to carry out your work properly, refusing to see the common goal with those leading the team, you cause hurt to others. We will all keep soaring high and achieving greater success, however we need to watch to be sure that we have no collateral damage on the way.  We might not be the owner of the goal, but we are expected to be committed to it, even paid to play our role, why should we give anything less? The mess of a nation is most times a collection of the evils of the people that liv

NEVER CEASE TO WORSHIP

1Chronicles 23:30 to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at evening; Psalms 30:12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. The act of worship involves reverence. Our every day lives should be to give reverence to God, no matter where we are: in school, workplace, at home, in the bus, in the car, in the airplane, everywhere. Worship does not make you a nuisance, it is not about shouting here and there, with no heart to it, even prayer that Jesus teaches says that vain repetitions mean nothing for it is just a show off -  Matthew 6:7-8 “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Do we always worship God? Worship is attributed to a diety and is even synonymous to idolatry. Another synony

KEEP PLANING, KEEP WORKING

Proverbs 16:1,3 We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. I keep saying that we have the ability to create like our author, the Heavenly Father, did from the beginning: Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And what makes man productive? His ability to solve problems, to create solutions to needs, create better lives and easier or convenient alternatives. Thus don't let anyone convince you that the believer is a mediocre, NO, some of our early believers were known inventors, they made impact in the life of the people around them. How do you earn? It is by creating solutions, whether you work for someone or you have your own business, the summary is that you are providing a service. In our opening verses we see the book of wisdom letting us understand that we can make our plans, however the Lord is the one that sanctions it, in verse 3, he went on to explain that wisdom

Over the Edge

Hebrews 6:4-5 For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— The desire to experience more from the Lord is good. Many especially from the young believer, (just as many of us did) crave for that extra measure of glory to be so close with the Father, to enjoy the power of the age to come and to receive and understand great mysteries. Yes, growth is inevitable, however when we seek great depth we should also understand that: Luke 12:48 But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. I remember when this discussion came up during my days as a youth leader, the great desire of the young minds then was to exper

STAY AFLOAT - another reminder

Matthew 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" The world and all its issues are like a big sea which each of have to walk on. Every step we take leads us forward progressively to fulfil our goals and to accomplish our purpose. I saw this definition of afloat in the dictionary. Afloat:  making successful progress under one's own steam. For us to stay afloat we need to do these * stay light: get rid of all unnecessary burden of sin, guilt, hate, tribalism, religions, worry and so on. Romans 13:12 - 14 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. * Focus on Jesus Hebrews 12:2 looking u

REASON TO GIVE THANKS

Psalms 30:12 that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.  O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever! It is easy to give thanks when everything seems alright, when it looks like all your prayers are answered and there are no pending or complex issues to solve. However, when there is trouble or a seeming difficulty, to praise doesn't easily come to mind. However it is wisdom to praise in the storm for you are speaking to the enemy/situation letting them know how big your God is. Psalms 35:27 But give great joy to those who came to my defense.  Let them continually say, “Great is the Lord, who delights in blessing his servant with peace!” For Jeremiah's prophesy is as potent today as it was when he said: Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. If the Lord's plan for us is for good then the plan of the enemy DOES NOT MATTER! So no matter what happens we must r

BE THANKFUL

Isaiah 12:4-5 In that wonderful day you will sing:  “Thank the Lord! Praise his name!  Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is! Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world. Psalm 118:23 This is the LORD'S doing; it [is] marvellous in our eyes. We are humans and we always have needs, this is why we ask, for we trust that we will receive, if I have no faith of receiving, why bother asking in the first place? However, we may say that there are times we have asked but not received. The emphatic part of not receiving according to scriptures is asking amiss. Today, we look at another part: ungratefulness! For there are so many things we received but never asked for. Listen to Jesus: Matthew 6:32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. The Heavenly Father already knows that we have need of them! Glory. So He takes care of them. Halleluyah We are not al

IT IS ABOUT FELLOWSHIP

Revelation 3:20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Relationship is a two way affair, it becomes a burden or domineering when it comes one way. When we make our relationship with God a one way affair we wonder why we don't have complete happiness even when our desires are met. It is not about the needs or the wants it is about fellowship . . . Jesus said: Matthew 6: 8, 32 "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Jesus makes all the difference, He is the one who reveals the Father to us and in this our joy is full. Not because of the things, but because of Him. When we get this right, then our joy may be full. John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and
