TRUE SONS

Matthew 21:28

But what think ye? A [certain] man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard.

There is this misconception by some that a son does not work. When you talk of serving the Lord, it looks strange to them, they sort of resist, feeling that the servant ought to serve while the sons enjoy the riches of heaven.

It may not be as direct as it seems, however, it is implied in some of our actions and doings.

Jesus said:

John 5:17

But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

The proof of a good son is seen in him tilling the father's vineyard, working to make all things be in place, that is a son that deserves inheritance.

Luke 15:29-30

And he answering said to [his] father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

Wow, " all that I have is thine", we have an inheritance, we have not traded it for the brief pleasures of the world.

1 Peter 1:4

and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

How many who think they are still sons, yet live like the prodigal?

A true son is an ambassador that reflects the glory of the father. Anyway they go, they shine the light, all that see them testify of their lineage for they truly represent.

When Jesus was teaching in the mount, He used the phrase . . . " . . .that you may be like your Father . . ." Are we like our Heavenly Father?

There are some who say they are christians but are lazy, not willing to sacrifice, wanting all the glory here. "They have received their reward already". What more do they seek.

We have some who have "gone the prodigal" and have already spent all their reward. Selah!

I see you, a son/daughter working, about the Father's business, not tiring, not dwelling on complain or murmuring. Yes, you who dine with the Father and the Son, and is a friend with the Spirit.

We will keep the labour on, we know that all the Father has is ours, we would not get tired or disillusioned.

We are sons and we serve.

He calls us blessed.

Love

@the watcher.
