AS WE GATHER

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. As we join other believers to worship, pray and study God's word, let us remember the reason we gather. The originator of our union. Christ Jesus. He promised that two is enough to provoke His presence, that bond that allows us manifest His glory. Whatever it is that would want to take away His dominance must be resisted, it must be all about Him. Thus even as we overlook the shortcomings of man yet we never condone sin, filth or laziness, but encourage God's love, faithfulness and accountability. There is a conduct in the house of God. Selah 1Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. Remember that all things will still come under Christ. Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather

TELL OF YOUR FAITH

Ephesians 3:9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: The salvation we received was not just a solution to man's err and falling away from God but a divine purpose which has been hid in God, that even the enemy could do nothing about: Matthew 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. 1 Peter 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Ephesians 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: God sees us through Christ, thus when we come to Christ we come into God's light and become relevant. Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath

RESISTING BY FAITH

1Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. The enemy goes around like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour. You don't have to look for him, that is what his job is, to make you fail. (How foolish then to look for him, or make yourself vulnerable. Selah) If Eve knew this, she won't have easily giving him room, discussing matters God had already concluded. One thing is certain, every believer faces these challenges in different degrees and varying forms thus we should never feel we are alone in this. Remember what Jesus said: John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. It is not that they would not arise, but that you are alre

CONSCIOUSLY READY FOR BATTLE

Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. We understand that the battles we face as believers are not of the flesh but spiritual, we are thus wise enough not to dwell much on physical armour but the armour of the spirit. How much fortified do we think we are if we girdle ourselves with physical armour to go forth to face the enemy. David understood this when he went to meet the threat against the army of Israel (Goliath): 1Samuel 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. So thus the believer knows that the weapon of our warfare be not carnal. 2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) So we must take on the ful

THE STORM, YOUR TEST

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you]. For God our difficult times is to bring us into a new glory. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. Therefore we should: 2Timothy 2:1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. As long as we live here on earth there will be times when the storm would rage. When things may not look as we want it to. When our faith is challenged. Let us be reminded that nothing stands to be accepted as true or as what it is, till it has passed its own test. Everyone even Christ Jesus went through the tests. The examination leads to a promotion. 1Peter 1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may b

UNNECESSARY BATTLES

Ephesians 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. Most of the battles believers fight are self created and most times illusions of the mind, created by traditional sentiments, hatred of others and ignorance. Is it that we do not fight, NO! However the battle is not carnal. Even the drive for wealth could become a battle that leave believers wounded. 1Timothy 6:9-10 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.  For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. One of the greatest created battle results from "unforgiveness" and thus frictions are created. Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy broth

CHARACTER (the husband)

1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. Ephesians 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Love. A very powerful word. It is not just about a feeling, it is as I used to tell my wife before marriage "A DECISION". Thus, it is active, it follows with action. Let us see agape as God showed it. John 3:16 (NLT) “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. So that is why Paul taught by the Spirit: Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; When you love you give, you cater for your own. Ephesians 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his w

THE GOD FACTOR

One thing is obvious we cannot close down all religions or even the sects that do not believe in God, no. They will keep existing through time, however through time the truth must stand secure. Thus instead of wasting time with those who do not believe we seek those who will and encourage those who do. 2Chronicles 20:6 and said: "O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? One thing is certain, that in all that man has done and will do, the focus will be on the Alpha and the Omega. Be they believers, non-believers and even atheists it is all around the fact that it all begins with and ends with God. The reference point is always God, that He is , or He is not. That He wants it this way or He wants it that way. That there is only one way or that there are many ways. No matter the stand, it all circles around God.

CHARACTER (The wife)

1 Peter 3:4 But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. Most times it is a wonder the life believers live. The question is "whose example do we follow? * the word of God * movies * books * celebrities * writers * parents * experience * friends * peers and even now church members. We know that we could be great ministers and leaders in church, the  circular world, business or even in politics and yet have destroyed and disjointed homes. We must understand that while we were unmarried we remain noncommittal, however the moment we do, we have a life commitment which we must stick to.  (God help us) So as you persuade people to marry.. .  do have it in mind. . . "YOU WILL NOT MAKE THE MARRIAGE WORK FOR THEM!" Hmmm So now you are married, as a wife, what is expected of "ME"? No matter what position you hold here or t

DON'T FORGET CHARACTER

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. As we work and fulfil our purpose, we must not get carried away and forget the character we possess, our nature by the Spirit. "Who birth us into the nature of His Spirit". Our service must be with good character, unless we do not want the reward. Romans 12:6-8(NLT) In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. It is the flesh that resisted us from serving with the character of the Spirit. We can never get enough reminder of our nature: Ephesians 5:9-10 (For the fr

SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS 2 (The School analogy)

Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: In every school, there has been set grades, that some will do well, some exceedingly well, some average and of course some would fail. Now the school never purposed that those they admitted should fail, never, the intention is that all would pass as they say "with flying colours" however this lies on the student. Will they abide by what is made available by the school to excel, or will they set their own or a contrary course? Let us look at the first man: Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

THE SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS 1

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ: There is this drive for earthly/material blessings that could blind the eye of the believer to what we have in Christ Jesus. We of course know that their were times when christianity was taught as a sect of poor and maybe wretched people who await a glorious inheritance or wealth after the life here on earth. Then came the sudden "revelation" of promise of wealth to believer which had its root in the promise of God to the children of Israel if they obeyed His commandment, that is if they remained faithful to Him. Deuteronomy 8:6-9,17-18 “So obey the commands of the lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him. For the lord your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with fountains and springs that gush out in the valleys and hills. It is a land of wheat and barley; of grape

WHAT WE FIGHT

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. When we understand who the enemy is, then victory is already ours. This is the literal wisdom in strategic planning to win a war. Thus the bible allows us to see who the enemy is, that we may not make the error of taking on the wrong armour and weapons but be well prepared for the enemy we face. Thus David did not need to go against Goliath with Saul's armour but with the missile of the Lord. The proclamation of the authority of God, placing the giant in his place " uncircumcised Philistine" then he declared his downfall. Thus a sling and a stone went out not just as a physical weapon but empowered to precisely hit target and destroy the enemy. Therefore we learn and understand that we prepare ourselves always ready, never found off guard as we continue on our own jo

THE AFTERLIFE (do read patiently)

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. So, many book exists, many people have trodden through this earth with one claim or the other. However one claim stands out in all. The one who was before the beginning! Everything we are is a product of what we believe and accept, whether from what our parents/guardian/teachers taught us, or what we read from books. We yet choose what to believe. This will determine our fate. Selah The one question has always been "what is the end of man?" This question is important because it will influence the kind of life we live while we are here in this world. Many religions belief in the afterlife and have a description of what it entails, however only one man can talk of the afterlife because He is the owner of life and death: Let us listen to Him. John 11:24-27 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the

WE KEEP WORSHIPPING

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. We remember to: Psalms 100:1-5(NLT) Shout with joy to the lord, all the earth! Worship the lord with gladness.  Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. The gathering of God's people has always been His pleasure, that we come together as brethren to worship and thank Him for who He is and all He has done. No wonder David was called the man after God's heart, he knew what it was to worship, to enter into the gates with thanksgiving. Jesus also said: John 4:23-24(NLT) But the time is coming—indeed it’s here no

WE ARE LIGHT

1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Jesus said that none had seen the Father at any time, He Christ Jesus was the one who revealed the Father to the world: John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]. John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. John 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father? This is key for us to live the life we have in Christ Jesus. These are times when a lot of things influence the thoughts, words, relationships and lifestyle of the chris

IN CHRIST ALONE

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. We really need to decide what way, what life and whose philosophy we would follow. If it is of the Lord, then let us study, get it right and then live it. This, Paul was charging in his second letter to Timothy: 2Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (HOW WILL THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAD US WHEN THERE IS NO WORD IN US FOR HIM TO WORK WITH? John 14:26) Too many things are speaking to us today that it seems the idols are having their way. Unless we drop the idols we cannot grab the full impact of who we are: 1John 5:21  Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. Who and what have we been worshipping? Is it our daily needs just like the people of these world have? Matthew 6: 24-33 Is it money, which Jesus said we

THE HEART OF MAN

1Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. In all the dramas, yes, the acts we put out from day to day for whatever reason, we should not get carried away and think that the act moves God. John 2:24&25 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all [men],  And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. While the pomp and show went on,   Jesus was more concerned about the heart. Thus it was the heart God looked at when He said: Jeremiah 17:9&10 The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?  I the LORD search the heart, [I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, [and] according to the fruit of his doings. So our heart is the birth place of our ideas, pr

YOUR PRAYER POINT

Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; When we come to God in prayer we could be carried away with our fears and the limitation of flesh and be all about the worries and cares of this life. However Jesus says they are things the world bothers about. We ought to have rest. Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Instead we are to seek the kingdom: Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Thus what is the kingdom? It was were you were born into. You were saved for the kingdom! Selah. John 3:3&5 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of wat

SPEAK WELL

Do you use curse words? Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. There is a trend all over the world were people have become accustomed to curse words and evil speakings. You could get so used to it that you do not know when you use them they just come out. We must remember that our words are the reflection of what we have in our inside: Luke 6:45  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Our conscience must never be smeared with hot iron. We must know when we should speak and when we ought to be silent.  Not every slang is meant for the believer to use. NO! Proverbs 4:24  Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. We must not allow this cankerworm  eat into our lives

DO NOT LAY UNNECESSARY BURDEN ON THEM

Matthew 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay [them] on men's shoulders; but they [themselves] will not move them with one of their fingers. We live in times when caution has been thrown to the wind and people even believers live careless lives and have adopted or accepted false doctrines and abominations because of personal gain, the lust of the flesh and the need to prosper. The categories vary from those running after earthly things; to those who have been taught erroneous things about heaven; to those who seek to lord it over others; and those who remain under the curse of the law. In all we should remember that Christ came to give us liberty, not a license to sin, but delivering us from the bondage of sin and setting us free from the curse of the law. So when some came to trouble believers as recorded in Acts 15: Acts 15:1  And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, [and said], Except ye be circumcised after the ma

IN GOD WE TRUST

Hebrews 2:12-13 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.  And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. From experience we know that man can fail but God would not,  it is wisdom to trust in the Lord. However knowing that times of tests would come many feel it is futile to do so,  when you speak of business deals,  daily routines,  and many other transactions we have to do here on earth it sounds weird to some when you bring the Lord into the picture.   Certainly some have gotten it wrong,  thinking that God would do for us what He has already empowered us to do.  No He doesn't,  yet we know that we cannot get carried away and think that it is by our strength. 1Samuel 2:9b   for by strength shall no man prevail. We trust that is why we continue in prayers, but we don't just babble, we WATCH and pray. Listening to hear what the Holy Spirit says that

THE ENSAMPLE

Philippians 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. Let us start with these question: * Who(s) are you an ensample to? * Who(s) is/are your ensample? While we go on our journey here on earth, we must not forget that we are from above and that we will return above, we will also give account. Paul writing to the Philippians cautioned them of a set of people: Philippians 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ:  Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.) We who claim to be leaders and those of us who follow must be cautious of this slipping away. * Some were initially of this nature. * Some drifted away (into it) because they became carefree, relaxed or stopped watching. * Others fell into this category because they became tired of sta

BE FRUITFUL

John 15:8  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As we follow Christ we must remember that the evidence of our discipleship is fruitfulness. John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. The evidence of any person is in the fruit they bear. So Jesus said: Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. When God made man he blessed Him, then commanded them to be FRUITFUL and multiply. Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. There are three types of fruiting (for the purpose of this write-up) * good fruit * bad fruit an

THE SALT AND THE LIGHT

Matthew 5:13-14 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. We sing this song ". . . He came from heaven to earth, to show us the way. . . " This was the testimony of Jesus: Acts 10:38  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. This is the description of the salt and the light. God empowering us to give taste/savour and to bring illumination/truth to our world. When Jesus said we should be this, He did not limit us to our efforts, or physical exertion, to show that we are better than others. NO, but we reveal God by doing and showing His very nature, and this we accomplish just like Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 5:1

POWER OVER EVIL FORCES

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Mark 16:17&18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. There is power released to the believer over the enemies, remember we have been raised in Christ and sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: Thus the same way Eve had power over the serpent to command it to be quiet, we also have authority to command the enemies to be quiet over any area of our lives. She allowed it to talk, however we give no room for the enemy.

THE CONCLUSION (Isaiah 66)

Isaiah 66:1&2 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven [is] my throne, and the earth [is] my footstool: where [is] the house that ye build unto me? and where [is] the place of my rest?  For all those [things] hath mine hand made, and all those [things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this [man] will I look, [even] to [him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. The prophesy of Isaiah was so significant to the plan of God for Israel and humanity. It was cited here and there in the New Testament signifying the revelation of the different seasons. So just as God told David, "where is the house you will build for me?". Not the physical edifice, but the heart, because God dwells in our inside through His Spirit. As Jesus explained to the Samaritan woman. John 4:24  God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. It is not how beautiful the house of worship is but how beautiful the hearts that come to worship

IN WHAT SEASON? (Isaiah 63 - 65)

Isaiah 64:4  For since the beginning of the world [men] have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, [what] he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. When we read the book of Isaiah, we need to understand that its prophesies and revelations are of different seasons and its directions were to varying people(s), the children of Israel(literally), the various nations and also to the whole world. Yes when we read the old testament, we do not read like the people of old or the pharisees and Sadducees with a veil. We read without the veil. We read by the power of the spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:15-16,18 Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are

LET US WORSHIP HIM

1Chronicles 29:20 And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king. We gather together to worship God, and when we do, we allow love flow in and out of our heart. There is a release of fresh power, we are also filled with grace to go forth to do exploits in the world. We are not to allow any discord or sentiment take away the power and purpose of our gathering. It is essential even in this end times. 2 John 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, [and] peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. We are blessed. Love @the watcher

THE LORD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU (Isaiah 62)

Isaiah 62:12  And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken. Yes Jerusalem forsook their God, they went their own way thus they suffered the consequences. However God's hand of love was still stretch out towards them. The Lord did not forget them, God did not forget man. One thing was sure, that which was to have brought total annihilation rather brought about salvation for all men.  Colossians 1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled All including Israel is saved if they return to the Lord.  Today we see Israel restored as a nation and even Jerusalem being recognized as a capital again. The Lord has not forgotten His own.  We are not forgotten, no matter what it is we feel we are going through, it is but for a time.  Isaiah 62:8-9  The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his streng
