RESISTING BY FAITH
1Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
The enemy goes around like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour.
You don't have to look for him, that is what his job is, to make you fail.
(How foolish then to look for him, or make yourself vulnerable. Selah)
If Eve knew this, she won't have easily giving him room, discussing matters God had already concluded.
One thing is certain, every believer faces these challenges in different degrees and varying forms thus we should never feel we are alone in this.
Remember what Jesus said:
John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
It is not that they would not arise, but that you are already a victor in Christ Jesus.
The angels ministered to Jesus, AFTER the temptations. Selah!
We thus cannot live anyhow, we must be guarded by God's word and His Spirit.
The promise is that after the brief suffering the Lord will perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you.
1 Peter 5:10
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].
STAY STRONG BRETHREN!
We are blessed.
