THE ECLIPSE

Habakkuk 2:3 This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.  If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place.  It will not be delayed. An eclipse occurs when there is an obstruction to the full reflection of the sun . In life we have times of eclipse it is expected, though sometimes it comes and our reaction escalates it beyond its real magnitude. James 1:12  Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been proved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Do you feel the Lord has abandoned you? Do you feel unholy, unworthy that you have not lived up to God's standard these past months? Are there goals you have set, plans you have made and all seems to have failed? Are there requests you have been making to God these past years and it seems God is silent about them? Do you look at your mates, colleagues or counterparts and then look at yourself and see that you hav

HOW WE WORSHIP

John 4:23  "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. John 1:18  No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. Man fell because of the seed of sin and therefore could not have fellowship with God as he ought to. His instinct was first to hide, for sin made him vulnerable. We therefore had a sentence of death. Genesis 2:17  "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." So through one man all became sinners Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, And therefore through one man all returns to God in righteousness Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; ol

RESIST THE ENEMY'S LIES

John 8:44  "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. Here, Jesus was talking to the Jews who worshipped God for personal gain, those of them who were hypocrites. Funny enough, the devil or satan lives here on earth. He comes again and again, sending his little demons to whisper rubbish into our ears. His tactics still remains the same just the way he toiled with Eve in the Garden of Eden. If only we could see those ugly things whispering those lies in our ears. How do we overcome Revelations 12:11  "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Not by shouting the blood but standing on what the blood has done. The word of our testimony Jesus the Christ. We

YOUR LEVEL OF HELP

When Hannah received her breakthrough she prophesied giving God glory! 1Samuel 2:8 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. "For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and He has set the world upon them. You get to pick your place time and again. What part of the equation are you? This dosen't have to be to what degree, no, that is God's disposition. When Christ talked about the woman who put in the least offering, in His sight she gave above all others who put in large currencies. See as the Lord sees. Selah Yet you must decide if you are the . . . * giver or begger * good example or the one needing to be godly influenced * teacher or one needing correction * one showing love or the one demanding * the one through whom healing comes or the one needing healing * the one offending or the one offended * saved or needing to be saved * knowing or being ignorant * rejoicin

YOUR INFLUENCE

Proverbs 15:23  A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is! Everyone has a circle of influence, people who are affected by what you say or do. It could be large or small no matter the size it remains our sphere of influence and God expects us to affect the circle positively. You are there to influence positively. If *  the souls of these ones are important to you, you will lead them to Jesus the Christ. *  their mind is important you will feed them with the word of God and Godly counsel. * their future is important to you, you will always tell them the truth and gear them to accomplish more. * their needs and welfare is important, you will reach out to them no matter how little you can give. * you love them, you will pray for them. Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. The right question to ask is WHEN MY TIME IS OVER, WHAT WILL I BE REMEMBERED FOR? Philippians 4:8 Fi

IT IS BY FAITH

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Our faith in God is definitely not limited by our feelings or our emotions. It is not how we feel, whether good, bad or uncertain. NO! That is of the flesh. We cannot trust our feelings and emotions, they fluctuate day after day. They are a function of what we see, hear, or presume. All these are of the flesh not the Spirit. Explaining God intellectually is actuality a futility. He is Spirit and can not be limited by the five senses. That's why the law was actually a bondage. It is not wisdom trying to live to please a Spirit based on our senses. It has to be by faith. For in the first place:- Salvation itself is a product of faith. Romans 10:10  For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. It could never be by works, your faith will produce good works. Bec

THE LITTLE YOU HAVE

Matthew 25:24  "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. Everyone was created with the power to contribute, we all have something to offer.  Let me quickly remind us that even loosing or not having a part of the body functioning properly heightens the sensibility and capability of the functioning ones. (The medicals will explain better). I have come to see in man that in lacking one thing we are compensated with another. God makes everyone a potential, fulfilled in process, thus, truly nothing is impossible to you, if you find your place in Him. The questions is, what have we done with what we have? We could decide to complain of what others have, what they know or where they have gotten to. When will we use that which we have? When do we become that blessing? When do we become the giver or encourager? It is time to look at our accounts, assets, t

START THE DAY WITH THANKS

As we awake to a new week, let us remember: 1Thessalonians 5:18 "in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Remember that it is because you are alive that you can complain or make requests. Before anything else give thanks to God for giving you life and for giving His Son "Yeshua, Jesus the Christ" in whom He has allowed all things to dwell. Colossians 2:9 "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;" If you have Jesus you have everything. Before anything else daily my friend, give thanks. Romans 8:32  "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" Let us remember this truth: Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For that thing that looks like disappointment, delay or rejection is not so to the Lord, His

WHAT DO YOU HAVE? (A reminder)

1Corinthians 4:7  For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you glory as if you had not received it? What we have at the "now" may not look like a big deal to us at the moment. However we need to remember that some seek it and yet do not have it. We cannot afford to be blinded by the desire for more so much as not to appreciate that which we have now. We  must be able to use what we have (already) been given. Let us remember that we will give account of all that we have been given and that Luke 12:48b  . . . For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. There is nothing wrong in desiring to be better, greater, richer or to achieve more. The issue is when we do not appreciate what we have or where we are already so much as to fulfil the purpose for which God allowed us to get there or have it. I see us ta

WARN THEM

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power. 2Thessalonians 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; There is glory and eternal bliss for all those who accept God's salvation which is in Christ Jesus. What of those who reject? John 3:19-21 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants

PERSECUTED, YET AT PEACE

2 Thessalonians 1:4-6 We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. And God will use this persecution to show his justice and to make you worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering. In his justice he will pay back those who persecute you. One part of the Christian's journey which has not been talked about or has been misinterpreted is "persecution". For many have termed many things under this category, but they are not. Matthew 5:11-12 “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way. It really needs to be emphasized that persecution recognized by Christ is that which was done because of your faith in Him. 1 Peter 4:14-16 If you are insulted b

STILL ON HIS GRACE

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ. We got saved by His grace we thus continue to live by His grace. Let us understand that we are not trying to search for Him, we are not trying to get salvation, NO. We are saved, we have found Him, just like being born, however we need to grow, we need to mature and we need to work. Selah John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. You cannot even begin except you receive the new birth, without salvation you are not even seeing the kingdom. This is why religion is man-made, it keeps you busy

OUR TRUST IS IN GOD

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. In all, our trust is in the Lord God, for He gives us salvation. Our holiness is not by our strength but our trusting in Him. For He says, come! From the time of old, the Lord has beckoned on man, for truly we can do nothing without Him: In Genesis He said:  Gensis 3:9  And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where [art] thou? Yes man was made in God's image and with the power of choice, however, man was ever to be dependent on His creator, for in Him was life. Gensis 2:7  And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Man remains dependent on his maker. Thus David said: Psalm 14:1a The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God.  So man

LIVING IN THE FAMILY

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil. Living in God's family on earth implies a certain lifestyle and in the epistles of 1Thessalonians 5:12-22, we are instructed on how it works: 1. We respect spiritual leaders: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other. Furthermore we respect every believer, we do not give room for quarrel or strife. 2. Laziness is not allowed,  NO, if you want to eat, you must work. However, we help those who genuinely need help, especially the disabled and elderly, we encourage boldness remembering that the Spirit we have been given is not of fear. In all we are patient with everyone: 1 Thessalonians 5:14 Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are l

AWAKE

1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. As believers, we ought Not to be afraid of the return of the Lord, for that is actually what we live for. He is not a stranger to us but our Lord and we are family. So His coming is not for our condemnation but our commendation. Do you see chaos everywhere, wars, rumours of war and great evil happening then you expect all things to end? Well you did be surprised, for the scriptures say otherwise: 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s l

OUR HOPE

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. We will live forever, yes, for we are assured that where our Lord is, there we will be also.  John 14:2-3 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. For the whole work of Christ on earth and in heaven was for us. His death, resurrection and ascension sealed our return to the Father, lifting us from the bondage of sin, death and slavery to liberty, royalty and glory. Halleluyah. This is why religion is

OUR TYPE OF LOVE

1 Thessalonians 4:1-5 Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more. For you remember what we taught you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor— not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways. HELP US GOOD LORD! For our type of love is the Agape, the love of God.  A lot of things do cross our mind, remember that there are many darts of the enemy, spittle of the serpent and manipulations from the prince of the power of the air, but we should: Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Not all thoughts should be given room, NO. For the enemy suggests, but you resist, then he flees. James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Re

WHAT IS YOUR JOY

1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our Lord Jesus when he returns? It is you! Yes, you are our pride and joy. Every minister's joy is the testimony of the wonderful things the Lord is doing in the lives of those they have ministered to. Listen to Jesus: John 15:16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. The commandment of the Lord to us is that we bear fruit, not just that, but that the fruits will abide. Selah! 1 Thessalonians 3:2-4 and we sent Timothy to visit you. He is our brother and God’s co-worker in proclaiming the Good News of Christ. We sent him to strengthen you, to encourage you in your faith, and to keep you from being shaken by the troubles you were going through. But you know that we are destined for su

JUST PREACH THE TRUTH

1 Thessalonians 2:3-6 So you can see we were not preaching with any deceit or impure motives or trickery. For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts. Never once did we try to win you with flattery, as you well know. And God is our witness that we were not pretending to be your friends just to get your money! As for human praise, we have never sought it from you or anyone else. All these false representations, charades and wrong motives we see in people who claim to come in the name of the Lord, is not new. Listen: 1 Thessalonians 2:3 So you can see we were not preaching with any deceit or impure motives or trickery. That means there were some who preached with impure motives and trickery. 1 Thessalonians 2:4 For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our he

THE BODY THAT TESTIFIES

1 Thessalonians 1:4,6-8 We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Greece—throughout both Macedonia and Achaia. And now the word of the Lord is ringing out from you to people everywhere, even beyond Macedonia and Achaia, for wherever we go we find people telling us about your faith in God. We don’t need to tell them about it, The message is preached in word and power, the people are taught and discipled, of course the result will be obvious. They will also rise to the same, able to preach the word with power, teach and disciple others. This is the testimony of the church at Thessalonians in the time of Paul, Silas and Timothy. Hello brethren, what is your testimony? Is there growth in the body or is it just growth of b

WHO WE ARE AS A CHURCH

1 Thessalonians 1:1 This letter is from Paul, Silas, and Timothy. We are writing to the church in Thessalonica, to you who belong to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May God give you grace and peace. NOT all are God's own, for there two types of people on the earth: 1 John 3:10 So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God. Children of God and children of Satan! John 8:44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. Now because of the lies of the devil, his children do not hear or tolerate the truth which is from the Lord: John 8:43,45,47 Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even

FOR ALL OF US

Colossians 4:16 After you have read this letter, pass it on to the church at Laodicea so they can read it, too. And you should read the letter I wrote to them. It is paramount to be reminded that all the letters of the apostles are for the church in general, none is specific for a particular sect, this is same for all the teachings of Christ and the scriptures in general. We hear people say/teach that it is for this or that people alone. NO! Let us get it right, the old testament or the Torah, was scriptures written for the fulfilment of the revealation of Christ, thus its meaning is only revealed through Christ. This is what the Jewish leaders at that time did not understand. Same with religious people and some sects of today, they remain trapped in the ignorance which makes them not able to enjoy the salvation that is in Christ Jesus. However we must not fall for the same error, for we know that: 2 Timothy 3:15-17 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have

THE RIGHT RESPONSE

Colossians 4:5-6 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. We have seen Christ's power, His person, His work of Salvation and what He did for us. We have also seen who we have become in Christ Jesus, the life we ought to live as believers and the expectations from our various roles in this world. Today, Paul teaches on our conversation especially with those who have not believed. The most important message is the message of salvation in Christ Jesus. Of course two ingredients are necessary to achieve this: prayer and the study of the word.  For you cannot tell people what you do not know neither can you help them to turn to the right part without power. Colossians 4:2-4 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan conce

THE LIFE OF THE BELIEVER 4

Colossians 3:23-25 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites. Going through the book of Colossians, we have been told who Christ Jesus is, what He did for us, who He has made us become and the life He expects us to live as children of God. Well in living that life we have significant roles to play as human beings here on earth, and there are expectations that gives God glory that we must fulfil. We could be a/an * husband * wife * parent * child * employee/servant or * employer/master Read - Colossians 3:18-22, 4:1 We must fall into one of these categories. Paul speaks on what is expected of us. As a wife - submission to the husband. (feminism is not of the Lord, submission does not mean surrendering to oppression

THE LIFE OF THE BELIEVER 3

Colossians 3:1-3 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. We have seen who Christ is, we have seen what He has done for us and who he has made us to be. Finally we know what He wants us to do. The question is what next, how are we to live our lives daily? In the nature of Him who saved us.  When a pauper is brought into royalty or a slave is given liberty and given rights as a son, there are things they must let go off. They must drop the filthy and foul things and take up the royal character and nature, they don't hold on to those old, dirty and infected clothes, they burn them to take on the new, clean royal robes permanently. Colossians 3:4-5,7-9 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in al
