THE LIFE OF THE BELIEVER 4

Colossians 3:23-25

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.

Going through the book of Colossians, we have been told who Christ Jesus is, what He did for us, who He has made us become and the life He expects us to live as children of God.

Well in living that life we have significant roles to play as human beings here on earth, and there are expectations that gives God glory that we must fulfil.

We could be a/an

* husband

* wife

* parent

* child

* employee/servant

or

* employer/master

Read - Colossians 3:18-22, 4:1

We must fall into one of these categories. Paul speaks on what is expected of us.

As a wife - submission to the husband. (feminism is not of the Lord, submission does not mean surrendering to oppression, one must take the lead)

As a husband - "love" your wife, do not treat her harshly. The comparation is how Christ takes care of His church.(so a believing husband can never put hands on his wife, never to speak harshly or be insultive to her, NO!).

As parents - taking care of the child/children not provoking them to anger. Most parents spend the time they ought to use to teach and groom the child to look for faults, insult or beat them. When will you actually train them to be what they ought to be. Have you trained then on how to pray, study the word of God, how to be courteous to people, run a business, cook, relate with others, there is so much to be done with your child to have time to provoke them to anger!

As children - obedience to the parent(s). Yes I love the other reference that says "in the Lord", for when it comes to picking between the Lord and your parents, you obey the Lord. A child will obey, however when they are no longer children they account for themselves, for they bear the consequences of whatever they do. Selah

As employee/servant being faithful avoiding eyeservice. Hello, your true master/employer is the Lord, so we work that way, not murmuring or complaining unnecessarily. So in that work, earn that which you are paid. Laziness is not the nature of the believer, NO!

As employee/master taking care of the employee/servant making sure their pay/wages come in full and when due. Be just and fair.

What money are you donating to the church or others when those under your employ are not yet paid or are underpaid, it is wickedness. You give them workloads that you as a person cannot handle, what really is wrong with us humans. Have we forgotten that we have all the same God. If He treats you that way, will you survive it?

You see the Lord is actually interested in all these things, for they are our daily life experiences and they do matter. What are you preaching or doing for the Lord when your home is in chaos and disarray?

Hello, one is your child till they grow to accountability, don't think that child will remain one forever they also have to grow and take care of their homes too, know when to let go, don't become a nuisance or play the witchcraft on that adult because you were given the privilege to give birth to them, be responsible.

For our day to day activities accumulate to all the things we would account for, I cannot be good and holy only when I gather with brethren, but when I am at home, work or with neighbours I begin to misbehave - it doesn't work that way.

Let us be wise, let us live the Zoe life, we are God's own, we get it right, we please Him.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
