NOT LOOSING HOPE

Lamentations 3:21-24 Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” In these times, many patterns have been disrupted, many sacraments have been disrupted. There is the good side and also the bad sides, for many believes have been countered.  However, there is one hope that cannot be changed, no matter how long it has tarried and no matter the fall or rise of faith. For it is the intentions and plan of the creator Himself. Romans 5:5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. It is the hope of eternal life spent in bliss with the Heavenly Father. The resurrection of the Son is our consolation and the evidence of our own resurrection and victory. For whether we are s

LOOK AHEAD, VICTORY IS SURE

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. The most important starting point is to discover your pathway with God, then the continuity is to allow the Holy Spirit lead you all the way. Then what is expected is: 1Thessalonians 4:11-12 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,  that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing. For we must remember that man was created for earth, yes, for before earth was corrupted because of sin, earth was good, an extension of God's territory. Thus scriptures exclaims: Psalms 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. Paul also proclaimed: 1 Corinthians 10:26 For “the earth is the Lo

WHO IS POOR?

Matthew 5:2-3 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. When Jesus was teaching on the beatitudes(utmost bliss and happiness) he started with the words we just read. Poor in this passage was referring to humility, willingness to submit, not holding on to one self . . . Literally being poor is a condition of "not having", it is deficiency. One can be poor in material things like money, possessions or wealth. And one thing is certain we will always have people in that situation. Matthew 26:11 "For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always. Knowing that there would be people in need at all times should make us responsible with what we have, we have a duty to ensure that we do not waste whatever it is we have, knowing that someone may be in need of it. However poverty can also go beyond not having money. You may say you are not poor, but at a point in time you may be in

MAKE AMENDS NOW

Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Will the door always remain open? Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Is there a time the Lord would not be found, is there a time it would seem too late to turn to the Lord, to live the life He wants us to live? IS THERE A TIME WHEN WE CANNOT DO THOSE THINGS WE OUGHT TO DO, OR HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO DO? Ecclesiastes 12:1,4 Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” Remember him before the door to life’s opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Now you rise at the first chirping of the birds, but then all their sounds will grow faint. Many examples exist today of people who leave the scene with regret, pain and fear. They look back at their lives and wonder if they would spend eternity with the Fath

MARY'S CHOICE

Luke 10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. In a time when people who have been born by the Spirit still try to justify themselves via the flesh, we need to remind ourselves of the commendation that Mary the sister of Martha received from our Lord Jesus the Christ: What a privilege we have to sit with Him who was meant to minister to multitudes. For few had the privilege of one-on-one fellowship with Him without the multitude. Jesus spoke so much on the mount.  We thus have the "sermon on the mount" Mathew 5, 6 & 7. Teachings that up till today have not been fully dissected. I recall reading a book many years ago focused on the beatitudes from Matthew chapter five(5). The author had yet to scratch the surface of this great teaching. Mary sat at His feet and listened while Martha ran around making preparations. We do not know what we have, in having direct link with the Messiah. Just as Martha could sit

LEAD YOURSELF

One key for success is leadership, with the right leadership a nation prospers, a business thrives, peace reigns and the young ones become great people. Proverbs 29:2  When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. However the most important leader in your life is YOURSELF! Everyone needs a leader, one who he or she accounts to, one he looks up to for direction, correction and even mentorship. Be it in business, career, job, spiritual  inclination or family. That is why we have pastors, mentors and advisers. 1Thessalonians 5:12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. It is quite easy for you to think then that because they stand in for you an

WE ENJOY GOD'S CARE

1Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Two things are important when we consider the enjoyment of God's care. First: HUMILITY 1Peter 5:5-6 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time HUMILITY (According to CS Lewis: humility is not thinking less of yourself. It is thinking of yourself less) That is, you are wise enough to think more of God. Not only when there is a problem or challenge, but as a life style. Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me. So Peter by the Holy Spirit writes: we cannot enjoy casting our cares on God until we have learnt to humble ourself to Him. 1Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under th

WE NEED YOU LORD

Matthew 5:2-3 and he began to teach them. “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. The fight of the enemy from the beginning is to bring man to a realization that they do not need God, the Heavenly Father. Genesis 3:4-5 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” In the story of Job (for those who accept . . .), the whole battle was to show that Job could deny God. Same with all that faced persecution in the scriptures, the whole aim was to separate them from God. Daniel 3:4-6 A herald then proclaimed in a loud voice: "Attention, everyone! Every race, color, and creed, listen! When you hear the band strike up - all the trumpets and trombones, the tubas and baritones, the drums and cymbals - fall to your knees and worship the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Anyone who does not kneel

MAN'S CONTROL

Man was created from God's desire to have a replica of Himself. His glory, His dominion, His will and ability to make and take decisions. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Man carried God's signature in Him. He desired the way God did, he creates the way God did. He had the will, the power of choice, just as God did. It was these characteristics that the enemy used against man to cause him to fall from glory. Yes, man desired yet again, but now in the wrong direction. Man sought for what would perish. Energy and time wasted on what would not last. Thus man keeps falling for these traits: * a false fight to stay on top * a hunger for fa

WHAT HAS DEFINED YOU?

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. We definitely had divers experiences as we grew up. From our homes, school, extended families or church the list goes on. Some of these experiences were good, while some were not. A lot of these experiences we have accumulated in our subconsciousness, we may think we did not keep memory of them, but time and again they are displayed in our actions and reactions. They define man as * arrogant * merciless * selfish * tribalistic/racist * sensual * wicked * intolerant * pessimistic * greedy * or evil. Other experiences could define man as * loving * caring * peaceful * gentle * sympathetic * optimistic * or kind We should remember that all these are not excuses to what we become, or are defined by. We must remember: 2Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may

Overwhelming Battles (a reminder)

2Chronicles 20:17 Ye shall not [need] to fight in this [battle]: set yourselves, stand ye [still], and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD [will be] with you. There are times when the things under our care or that matters to us become so overwhelming. When issues seem to spring up from here and there and we wonder how we would take care of them. * Some may have come because it is its season. * Others may be due to our mistakes or wrong decisions. * Another may be part of our promotion or growing process. * Yet another could be of no fault of us. * And ofcourse those that affect or concern us because of those we love, care for, or are accountable for. It could flood in sometimes and the answer we may have is worry or maybe anger or just pain. We need to remember that worrying and carrying of such kind of burdens is what Yeshua, Jesus the Christ came to help us with. There are so

WE WORSHIP

Psalm 95:6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. Psalms 29:2 Honor the Lord for the glory of his name.  Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. We live to worship God. All things began from Him and all things would end with Him. It is not by feeling, we just worship. Once we worship, we worship, it is the way we are, what we are created to be, to show forth His glory. Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power.  For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.” It is a privilege to worship God, for before man was created God was worshipped, let us not get over our heads, truly it is a privilege to worship. If we don't worship God, we of course would worship someone or something else. What then is the benefit? As we gather with other believers today let us not get carried away with activities, let us worship. As we go on with our work this week let us worship.

Man's Desire 4(a reminder)

1Samuel 15:24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. 1Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams. One desire of man is to have the approval of other men. (man or woman 👍). We could go so deep in this that we forget who is important. That is God, the Father. At the long run we see the wisdom, though most times the damage has already been done. See how the Messiah, Jesus the Christ looked at it: John 2:24-25  But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men,  and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man. We must not think then that we do not need good testimony from our fellow humans. No, we ought to, we must live to have a good testim

FEELING UNWORTHY

Romans 8:33-34 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. There is a purpose for us as believers, as we live our normal lives as humans, we must remember that we are not ordinary. What makes us special is our family ties with the Heavenly Father: John 1:12-13 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. We become chosen thus we are special having a purpose that brings our Heavenly Father joy. 1 Peter 2:9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he calle

HE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT - WORSHIP HIM

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Each morning we wake up, we are conscious of some things, they could be that: * we have requests * we have something bothering us * we have a big project, job or assignment on our hands * there is an issue in the family * we need a financial provision urgently * there is someone who needs healing * we have a matter to settle or an issue to resolve * someone may have hurt or annoyed us * we await news, we wait for a report . . . .the list goes on. Notwithstanding, first let us lay them all aside and just acknowledge Him who made us see today, give Him praise, worship Him, give Him thanks. Recognise Him who made all things and who controls all things. Revelation 7:12  saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen." Romans 16:27 to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Ame

ALWAYS COME HOME

Psalms 94:14,18 The Lord will not reject his people; he will not abandon his special possession. I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. Consciousness of the world, weakness and carelessness could lead a believer to err. If this happens, we are not to run away from home but to return home. Many a times it is fellow believers that bring down their brethren! You are not to find joy in the predicament of another, instead you should help them get up. Galatians 6:1-2 Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. We are conscious of some sins: fornication, stealing, murder etc. What of hate, envy and the desire to see a brethren fall. None of these should be our nature, truly none. So help us Good Lord. 1 John 2:10-11

LEAD BY THE spirit

John 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. When Jesus said that those born of the flesh are flesh and those born of the Spirit are spirit. He spoke of the kind of life we would live day after day. It is a hard thing to be led by those who do not have the Spirit. The same way it is great to have a gifted, talented and intelligent boss who knows how to take decision, the same way every leader must know what is to be done at each point in time. If God is leading a lot of errors would be avoided. How difficult it is to be led by those who are moved by their feelings or the atmosphere of the moment. Those under them tend to suffer because of irrational and ill-advised decisions. Let us take a look at Saul: 1Samuel 14:24, 27 & 29 And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oa

WHEN YOU ARE THE TEACHER

Hebrews 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. We meet situations we have no control over, time and time again. *Daniel found himself in a strange land with so much expected from him. *Joseph found himself in a palace with so much to account for. *David found himself in the war zone with a giant soldier threatening his people *Lot found himself in a community full of unrepentant sinners whose atrocities knew no boundary *Solomon found himself as king, when he ought to have been a rejected child "The situations are not always our making, however, we can re-write the scripts" Instead of watching the scene as a spectator we could actually write the script by being "the teacher". Titus 2:7 In all things see that you are an example of good works; holy in your teaching, serious in behaviour. This instruction was act

WHEN YOU SHOULDN'T BE CONTENT

1Chronicles 4 : 9&10 Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain."  And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. That feeling that comes, we feel that  we are more than this. Our vision eye opens, we see that where we are now is not where we ought to be. It is like an awakening, as if from a deep sleep. We ask ourself, why am I still held up here. We take stock and find ourself wanting. Just like every prompting that comes to a believer we cannot allow ourself be easily carried away. Therefore we must ask: * Am I being ungrateful? * Am I comparing myself to others? * Am I genuinely behind, have I tarried too long at that spot? * Do I have a vision of where I am headed? * Am I being stirre

THINK OF OTHERS

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. We live in the times when many have become so self conscious that they think of themselves alone and no one else. It is always about how do I get, how do I gain, how am I better, how do I rule over and how do I take advantage??? Wisdom instead says: Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. When we see men who have succeeded in achieving great things in life, one factor common to them is that they sought for solutions to problem facing others. Your glory is in making others great, for what is my relevance if I am just about myself alone. * Abraham was the solution to a generation yet unborn * Joseph was to alleviate famine from Egypt * Esther was to prevent the annihilation of the Jews * Daniel was to save the death of all the wise men in Babylon * Solomon was full of passion to lead Israel aright *

PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS

Proverbs 29:2 When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice.  But when the wicked are in power, they groan. Thus the wicked can be in power! Deuteronomy 17:15-17&20  "you shall surely set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.  "But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for the LORD has said to you, 'You shall not return that way again.'  "Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself. "that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel. We should vote 😀👍 There is need to pray for those who lead and

LORD TAKE OVER

Romans 8:6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. The victory that Christ brought to the believer, is freedom from sin, which leads to freedom from death. Thus fear and condemnation is removed, we then have the status of sonship. Romans 8:4 He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. Romans 8:16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. Is there a drawback? Yes. We still live in a carnal body, for without the earthy suit, you don't have a right to be on earth.  This earthy suit relates with the carnal. It's counterpart is the Spirit! Romans 8:7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. Romans 8:8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. So i

VICTORY IN THE STRANGE PLACE

1 Kings 20:23-24,28-29 After their defeat, Ben-hadad’s officers said to him, “The Israelite gods are gods of the hills; that is why they won. But we can beat them easily on the plains. Only this time replace the kings with field commanders! Then the man of God went to the king of Israel and said, “This is what the Lord says: The Arameans have said, ‘The lord is a god of the hills and not of the plains.’ So I will defeat this vast army for you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” The two armies camped opposite each other for seven days, and on the seventh day the battle began. The Israelites killed 100,000 Aramean foot soldiers in one day. When a powerful eagle exposes itself to the land below some begin to think it is in its place. They foolishly take it is as common forgetting that the eagle still has its place at the high grounds. The prey who take it for granted regret because anything it lifts either goes as a friend with it to greater heights or is dropped below to crash. For

WHEN "WHY" IS NECESSARY

1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; I have heard this phrase severally: "Do not question God", I really do not understand what concept it initiates from. Most likely when someone is bereaved and is in grief, it is believed that one shouldn't ask "why" the person had to leave at that time. One thing though is not argued. "We can question ourselves". When we read through the gospels we see that most of the knowledge released came from answers given to specific questions. Most people who break forth and make an impact in life, most likely initiated their break-forth from the "WHY" One of the most important question one can ask is "Why am I here?" Exodus 9:16 "But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be decl

Make the right exchange

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Many have traded their joy chasing over material things and the pleasures and satisfaction of the world. The question is "is it worth it?". Yes we must earn, work and keep improving day after day but we must remember "nothing is free". We must pay a price. So, what are we ready to sacrifice? Some have sacrificed, their: * health * peace of mind * children * marriage * calling * ministry * good name All in the bid to get material things. 2Timothy 4:10 for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica-- Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. There is always a process, we would get into trouble when we try to use the shortcut, to get it by all means and immediately. Let us be careful of what exchange we make! Let us ask like Je

A LITTLE PUSH

Isaiah 41:6 Everyone helped his neighbor, and said to his brother, "Be of good courage!" 1Thessalonians 3:12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all [men], even as we [do] toward you: Everything we do would either encourage or discourage another It takes just that little prompting to make that right move or to take the wrong decision. Colossians 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' God is the greatest motivator and that is why He told us through His Son that He would not leave us alone but would give us the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us. He would be that push that woul

KEEP WORKING (a reminder)

Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty. When the year began many had a lot of expectations. Some went from one programme to another seeking for one blessing or the other. There would have been a lot of promises targeted at the end of the year. Depending on what one is expecting, some may get it, yet some may not. Especially in our country, there is this mentality that one would just make it, that is: "a tree just appears out of thin air". (no wonder some believe in miracle or more correctly magic bank credit alerts, hmm) No, there is always a planting, a nurturing, then a full growth. We should remember that if: *  It is work, we should expect to spend energy * It is a journey, we should expect it to take some time. * it is a training, we should expect to learn * it is a business, it will grow from stage to stage * it is a marriage, we live it day after day * it is children, we have to train and rai

WE LEAN ON YOU LORD

Psalms 42:1,8 As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. When we look at all the events around us, when we see others go through divers troubles, we hear of wars and there is death here and there: we understand why we must give praise to the Heavenly Father for all He has done for us. For even if the believer leaves the scene it is yet for a better place, for we will find rest and be resurrected into eternal life. Praise God. It is wisdom to trust in the Lord, for His love and mercy is refreshed each day. He doesn't leave us with left overs, He renews them day after day. Halleluyah. Lamentations 3:22-23 The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. . . . afresh every morning . . .That is what we get from our loving Father, why will we not trust

MAKE USE OF WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN

Revelation 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Matthew 25:24 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. We must understand that every human was created with the power to contribute, we all have something to offer. No human is empty the Lord endowed all with gifts that can be developed. I have come to see in man that in lacking one thing we are compensated with another. The questions is what have we done with what we have? We could decide to complain of what others have, what they know or where they have gotten to. However, when will we use that which we have? When do we become that blessing? When do we become the giver or encourager. It is time to look at our accounts, assets, talents, gifts and anointing. Proverbs 11:24 - 25 There is

WE CAN MAKE PLANS

Proverbs 16:1,3 We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. We can definitely make plans, the wisdom is to commit them into the hands of the Lord. Selah I always try to explain to those who ask about the Heavenly Father's creation of man, that the man God created was not a robot or a stereotype but a model of Himself, if He is the Prototype. Listen: Genesis 1:27 So God created human beings in His own image.  In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. So what God can do, man was to be able to do on earth. God created, man could create, God planned man could plan. Man's problem came when he sold himself out by disobedience. (Just one thing you had to keep away from, just one thing . . .). The same today, you are tempted only of that thing you are to keep away from. It is a temptation because you were not meant to have it. Selah So when you see people think, develop things,
