WE NEED YOU LORD
Matthew 5:2-3
and he began to teach them.
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
The fight of the enemy from the beginning is to bring man to a realization that they do not need God, the Heavenly Father.
Genesis 3:4-5
“You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman.
“God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”
In the story of Job (for those who accept . . .), the whole battle was to show that Job could deny God.
Same with all that faced persecution in the scriptures, the whole aim was to separate them from God.
Daniel 3:4-6
A herald then proclaimed in a loud voice: "Attention, everyone! Every race, color, and creed, listen!
When you hear the band strike up - all the trumpets and trombones, the tubas and baritones, the drums and cymbals - fall to your knees and worship the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
Anyone who does not kneel and worship shall be thrown immediately into a roaring furnace."
Thus it has always been a battle to ensure that man would not enjoy God's kingdom.
Matthew 11:12-13
For a long time now people have tried to force themselves into God's kingdom.
But if you read the books of the Prophets and God's Law closely, you will see them culminate in John, teaming up with him in preparing the way for the Messiah of the kingdom.
The whole of God's people longed for a day of redemption, when the Heavenly Father will turn things around, to deliver man finally from the enemy(s) and the greatest of them all is death, for sin leadeth to death.
Halleluyah the time came - Christ was revealed:
Isaiah 9:6
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 3:11-12
“I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.”
The book of John described Him fully:
John 1:1,9,12,18,29-30
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
He is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’
It was what the fathers of old longed for but they could not see in the earthly lifetime but we are born at a time when we could see and together with them we rejoice.
NEVER TAKE IT FOR GRANTED!
John 3:3
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Hebrews 11:13,39-40
All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth.
All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised.
For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.
That is why condemnation comes from man's rejection of God!
John 3:18-19,36
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”
The Lord blessed man He created and has endowed him with talents and skill, however the fall of man brought sin and death to man. Man became separated from God and thus could not enjoy eternal life. Christ coming was to set this right, and indeed He succeeded.
Luke 4:17-21
The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
He rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant, and sat down. All eyes in the synagogue looked at him intently.
Then he began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”
Are you at a point when you have been decieved to believe that you do not need the Heavenly Father. That the sacrifice of His Son means nothing to you. Don't give in for no matter how anyone denies Him, they would yet have to account to Him. Remember that his rain falls both on the good and the bad, don't get it twisted. Don't say: "I don't follow Him yet I have things working for me".
2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
Revelation 1:7-8
Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven.
And everyone will see him— even those who pierced him.
And all the nations of the world will mourn for him.
Yes! Amen!
“I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
Even in this life we need Him that we will not be carried away by the deceit of the enemy.
The enemy has won if he convinces you to take your trust from the Lord, we never give in, we are wise. Glory to God.
Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the lord and turn away from evil.
We enjoy the Lord's mercy, grace and favour now, we will yet enjoy in His glory for eternity.
It is a win-win situation.
We need You Lord, thank You for accepting us.
He calls us blessed.
