WHAT HAS DEFINED YOU?
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We definitely had divers experiences as we grew up. From our homes, school, extended families or church the list goes on.
Some of these experiences were good, while some were not.
A lot of these experiences we have accumulated in our subconsciousness, we may think we did not keep memory of them, but time and again they are displayed in our actions and reactions.
They define man as
* arrogant
* merciless
* selfish
* tribalistic/racist
* sensual
* wicked
* intolerant
* pessimistic
* greedy
* or evil.
Other experiences could define man as
* loving
* caring
* peaceful
* gentle
* sympathetic
* optimistic
* or kind
We should remember that all these are not excuses to what we become, or are defined by. We must remember:
2Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.
Today we have people who claim to be of Christ and rejoice in being known as wicked, arrogant or unkind.
Some even place themselves on the same level with God!
It is the evil of the last days, the enemy has blinded the eyes of many not to understand the Spirit of Christ. They have laid hold on another spirit.
Some leaders in the church also contribute to this: We have the false payment of money for purgatory, the modernized version of it also exist in the recent sects. Where a church goer believes that as long as he/she is a financial donor to the church their eternity is secured.
THIS IS NOT TRUE!
The teaching of Christ both in the old and new testament has always been of the heart and fruits. Money cannot and will never buy salvation or eternal rest with God.
Acts 8:20
But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God.
As we claim to have been born again we must remember it is not of corruptible seed but incorruptible. We must be dead to the past evils, we must be free. This we can achieve if we let it go and let God. If we are of God let us live like His.
What has defined you, what is your name, who are you?
Remember you cannot be of God and the devil. You must choose whom you serve.
If you are of God, ask yourself "Where is the love?", "Where is God's nature in me?".
We cannot hide under a cover of any pope, priest, pastor, prophet or bishop. We must define who we are in God, through His only mediator "His Son". (They will all stand before the same judgement seat of Christ to give account of their own works)
1Timothy 2:5
For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus
Some of us have made a mess of our spiritual teachers and leaders by idolizing them.
According to Bob Jones "When you make an idol out of a leader, you destroy his ministry".
Some of us don't pray for them anymore. Hmm, if only we know how much they need this. Selah!
What has made you who you are?
Is it God's Spirit in you or something else.
Finally:
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
May we not just know the word, may we be the word!
I see you established and blessed in the Messiah, Jesus the Christ.
Brethren let us continue in PRAYers, let us also listen and obey. Be reminded that you may not go further than the revelation of the word you have.
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
