LEAD YOURSELF

One key for success is leadership, with the right leadership a nation prospers, a business thrives, peace reigns and the young ones become great people.

Proverbs 29:2 

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

However the most important leader in your life is YOURSELF!

Everyone needs a leader, one who he or she accounts to, one he looks up to for direction, correction and even mentorship.

Be it in business, career, job, spiritual  inclination or family.

That is why we have pastors, mentors and advisers.

1Thessalonians 5:12

And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,

Hebrews 13:17

Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

It is quite easy for you to think then that because they stand in for you and account for you that you will not account for yourself.

Romans 14:12

So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

No matter the pastors, priests, leaders or teachers you heap on yourself. (They also have to account for themselves, for there is no "respecter of persons" with God)

Never think that you have an advocate in a human or spirit that will stand as your advocate on the day of judgement. The decision of what and where you will be rests on you.

Deuteronomy 30:19

 "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live

Now no matter what leaders we have outside, the most important leader is oneself, you have to decide what happens to you, to follow an external leader in the first place is a decision made by the most important leader - yourself.

This is why every parent must learn to direct their children on self discovery, for if they have not understood (well explained, with questions answered) the truth while you still have influence over them, why do you think they will not be carried away when they get exposed to others who introduces them to other things and have answers to their questions?

The best truth every human must come to realize is that they must be in good relationship with their creator, He is the Heavenly Father. The only one who revealed and reveals Him is His Word - Christ Jesus.

So no matter what happens stay in close fellowship and friendship with Jesus the Christ who will be the judge of the whole earth, He is the Father personified and the Holy Spirit living in us today.

2Timothy 4:1

charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:

Acts 17:31

"because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."

Luke 21:36

"Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

For as your leaders in the spirit watch over you and pray for you, they cannot stand for you on the day of judgement.

So why not get familiar with Him who you will account to. That's wisdom. He is not far, He is with you if you are born again. Talk to Him, let Him guide, let Him lead you, let Him work with you. Then there is no way He will deny you at the end of the days.

As we continue to pray for our outward leaders, may we be good leaders to ourselves.

So help us Good Lord.
