ELDERS ARISE

1 Peter 5:1-3 And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you: Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. The care the elders of old had for the younger believers in the church birthed the vibrant and powerful spiritual moves that we had in the early centuries. Faith gatherings sprung up with many really dedicated to the Lord, as the bible recorded: Acts 19:20 So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect. This continued for a while before the world political system interfered and intercepted the spiritual church to make it carnal with the introduction of other strange se

YOU ARE A BLESSING

Matthew 25:24 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. When God created man, He made him in His image, we were empowered to create like Him, to be productive, thus every human has something to offer. No one was created to become a burden to another, we are all to be a help to one another. I have come to see in man that in lacking one thing we are compensated with another. That is, you might think you don't have this but the Lord has blessed you with that, thus you are not empty, that which you think is little is a talent that is meant to bless another, and if used properly can cause a great shift and glory to a larger community. The questions is what have we done with what we have? Matthew 25:29 To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what l

IT IS GOOD TO GIVE PRAISE TO THE LORD

Psalms 92:1-2 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your  faithfulness in the evening, Listen, everyone who has thought that they could go on without the Lord, would not remain with the same mentality when the face crises. For no matter how powerful any human think they are, they can be brought low by a singular event and worse still, they will yet pass away! Psalms 90:3,5-6 You turn people back to dust, saying,  “Return to dust, you mortals!” You sweep people away like dreams that disappear.  They are like grass that springs up in the morning. In the morning it blooms and flourishes, but by evening it is dry and withered. We take our life so seriously till we see someone pass away then we understand that we have limited time on this earth and when we have fulfilled time, we will yet give account. Psalms 90:12 Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. All that cla

JOIN TO TELL THE STORY

Psalms 96:1-4 Sing a new song to the Lord!  Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Sing to the Lord; praise his name.  Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations.  Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!   He is to be feared above all gods. You know as humans we could be lost in the consciousness of self, picturing everything in the limit of ourselves forgetting that our being is as a result of the One who created us. Is it that our maker does not want us to have an existence in ourselves? NO, however we were created to be an extension of Himself, but not to take His place or rebel against Him. We know of the one who did otherwise, and he has become lost forever condemned to everlasting torment, yet he waited on time. Just like a hardened criminal would not want to suffer the pain alone, in envy the enemy desires that man would have the same fate as him: Matthew 25:41 “Then the King

YES, GOD LOVES US

Lamentations 3:22-23 The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Psalms 5:3  My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Jehovah; in the morning I will direct my prayer to You, and I will look up. We cannot exhaust the love of God towards us,  no matter how you feel or the situation around you, remember that He makes it possible for us to: * be alive today * be in good health * have food and can eat * have sense organs and can use them * have people around us, and we can communicate with them * have something to act on (even worry about) * be saved through His Grace in Christ Jesus * come boldly to His throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) * be assured of eternal life. Think of our families, our source of income and many other things. He now crowns it all with eternal insurance for those who believe. What a great God. Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to Go

SAFE IN HIS "HAVEN"

Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." When God made man in the beginning, He placed man in a safe haven, where all things had been pre-prepared for him to increase multiply and fill the whole earth. (I believe God still had a lot planned out for man). However, there was an enemy! This enemy had no power over man but because of his craftiness, he knew that the only way he could get to man was to play with his mind and by doing that he could cause him to disobey God. To perfect this plot he came through man's weak side - the woman: Genesis 3:1 The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” (The enemy still toils with minds today) Many have asked questions about that incidence,

JESUS IS THE ANSWER

Romans 7:25a Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So we understand the meaning of the song by Andraé Crouch: "Jesus is the answer for the world today Above Him there's no other, Jesus is the way Jesus is the answer for the world today Above Him there's no other, Jesus is the way" Remember what Christ said: Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. What are you struggling with, what has got you entangled? He said come that you might get rest. He is the one who turns our mourning into dancing, the liberator Himself. See what He said - again: Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, Glory to God! Christ did not only set us free from sin but He guides us through all of life's storm

REJOICE THE LORD IS KING!

Psalms 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, Charles Wesley wrote a hymn and the first verse goes thus: "Rejoice, the Lord is King: Your Lord and King adore! Rejoice, give thanks and sing, And triumph evermore. Lift up your heart, Lift up your voice! Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!" There was a song by Joan Osborne asking a question: "What if God was one of us . . ." The person of the author of the universe looks all abstract till we see how beautiful everything is arranged and we are certain that the author is real and that He yet holds all things together. The question is how? The answer is through His Word by whom He made all things. For by whom He created all things He also holds all things together. John 1:1-4 In the beginning the Word already existed.  The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through

ARE YOU A GOOD INVESTMENT?

Matthew 25:16,20-21,29 “The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’ “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. John 15:8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. A story is told of a man who invested in a bank the first year, he lost almost all of his investment, the bank asked for more the next year, he re-invested and still again he neither regained his investment

RICH TOWARDS GOD

Matthew 5:2-3 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. The poor in the context of this verse does not refer to lack of wealth or substance, it was referring to humility, willingness to submit, not holding on to self . . . Literally being poor is a condition of "not having" , it is deficiency.  However, the poor in spirit are those who have given up their self acclamation to submit to God's acclamation. The poor in the spirit are those who are not holding on to the things of this world, they are holding on to God. They have submitted to Him. Talking of those who are poor in material things; One can be poor of material things like money, possessions or wealth. And one thing is certain we will always have people in that situation. Matthew 26:11 "For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always. Knowing that there would be people in need at all times should make us res

STAY ON THE RIGHTEOUS PATH

Psalms 1:1-6 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.  Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked!  They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. They will be condemned at the time of judgment.  Sinners will have no place among the godly. For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction. Have you felt weary in doing good, have you ever felt it not worthwhile walking on the righteous path, you are not alone, the writer of the Psalms felt at one time that it seemed the unrighteous were prospering, that things seems to be going their way, however an encounter with the Lord opened his eyes to see clearly. Psalms 73:12-13,16-19 Look at these wicked people - enjoying a life of

DO YOU CARE FOR OTHERS?

Jonah 4:9-11 Then God said to Jonah, "Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?" And he said, "It is right for me to be angry, even to death!"  But the LORD said, "You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night.  "And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left, and also much livestock?" The story of Jonah is that of a prophet who was sent by God to warn Nineveh of impending destruction if they did not repent. Jonah after trying to run was diverted back to the city. He declared of the impending destruction. The city repented and God therefore did not destroy them. This caused Jonah to be annoyed. God needed to show him, to teach him. He made a plant grow over his head, then when he began to enjoy it, He caused it to wither. Jonah became s

THE LIAR

John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. Jesus was talking to the Jews who worshipped God for personal gain, those of them who were hypocrites. Funny enough the devil or satan roams through the earth. He comes on, and again, sending his little demons to whisper rubbish to our ears. His tactics still remains the same just the way he toiled with Eve in the Garden of Eden. If only we could see those ugly things wisphering those lies in our ears. How do we overcome Revelations 12:11  "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Not by shouting the blood but standing on what the blood has done. The word of our testimony Jesus the Christ. W

WHAT IS YOUR MEASURING SCALE?

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, By whose scale do we measure?  * the world * the flesh * God * or man We must always remember that the battle has always been for "our soul" that is the real us . . . When the scale of measure is the flesh, all becomes struggle and chasing after wind. Ecclesiastes 1:14 I observed everything going on under the sun, and really, it is all meaningless—like chasing the wind. If all we do is to please men, that they may see that we have arrived, that we might gain respect and power, or that people will see that we . . .  etc. Then we have also missed it. 2 Corinthians 10:12 Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant! Instead, let us say like Paul: Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please m

LEARN TO STAY AFLOAT

Matthew 14:31  And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" The world and all its issues are like a big sea which each of us have to walk on. Every step we take leads us forward progressively to fulfil our goals, to accomplish our purpose. I saw this definition of afloat in the dictionary. Definition: Afloat making successful progress under one's own steam. For us to stay afloat, we need to do the following: 1. stay light; get rid of all unnecessary burden of sin, guilt, hate, tribalism, religions, worry, pessimism and the likes. Romans 13:12 - 14 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.  Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

I AM HERE

John 6:20 but he called out to them, “Don’t be afraid. I am here!” The presence of the Lord brings about our consolation. See, what the enemy fights for is to ensure that we do not have the Lord's presence, for the Lord's presence is our sure victory. Thus all the temptations and attacks is to take us away from His presence. Genesis 3:23 So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made. The enemy knew that disobedience would lead to man being removed from access to God's presence thus he decieved the woman to disobey, thus the circle of disobedience and man was immediately cut off: Genesis 3:10 He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.” Sin definitely would cut you off from enjoying God's presence, for sin is a cancerworm to the spirit, remember that God is Spirit. Isaiah 59:1-2 Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, no

BY FAITH

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Our faith in God is definitely not limited by our feelings or our emotions. We cannot trust our feelings and emotions, they fluctuate day after day. Explaining God intellectually is actuality a futility. He is Spirit and can not be limited by the five senses. That's why the law was actually a bondage. It is not wisdom trying to live to please a Spirit based on our senses. It has to be by faith. John 4:24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” Salvation itself is a product of faith. Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. It could never be by works, your faith will produce works. Because anything done out of faith is sin. Romans 14:23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not e

THE MULTIPLIER EFFECT

John 6:9,11-13 “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?” Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted. After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, “Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted.” So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves. Have you trusted the Lord as your provider? The wise believer has learnt to trust in the Lord, yes you may have a large bank account, but you understand that it is the Lord that is your provider. You keep working that you might earn, this is good, however, you are careful not to lose focus on who you are and what you can do and not do, your real provider is the Lord God. So the people followed after Christ, and when it was evening, Christ didn't want to let them go w

IT IS UP TO YOU

In this life it is true that everyone needs a leader, one who he or she accounts to, one to look up to for direction, correction and even mentorship. Be it in business, career, job, spiritual inclination or family. That is why we have pastors, mentors and advisers. 1Thessalonians 5:12  And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. It is quite easy for us to think then that because they stand in for us and account for us, we will not account for ourselves. Romans 14:12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. No matter the pastors, priests, leaders or teachers we heap on ourselves. We need to be reminded that . . . 1. We do not have an advocate in a human or spirit that will stand as our advoca

BE APPRECIATIVE

Psalms 9:1 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;  I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. At what gesture do we need to show appreciation. Your ability to show appreciation is a measure of the love inside of you. Every form of appreciation encourages the doer to do more good. We even find it hard sometimes to appreciate our children, these is their confidence boost and also appreciation shown to them will make them grow up filled with love and ready to show appreciation also. Let us destroy the negativity and lack of love around. Good must be our activity and love our motive. As we remember God's love towards us in sacrificing His one and only Son. Lets create, encourage and brew love all around us. Have you shown appreciation to God today, Will you continue to show appreciation to God in all your activities? Do you appreciate others? Yes I believe you will. He calls us blessed. Love @the watcher.

THE LIBERTY THAT CHRIST BRINGS

John 5:24 “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. These are the very words of Christ, yet when Paul emphasized it, some become sceptic. You know our attachment to sin makes us belittle or doubt the liberation power of Christ. Listen, you doubt or skeptism even your presumed correctness, legality or religion, CANNOT negate what Christ has done. John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. No power, no force, no law, no person, no being can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus: Romans 8:38-39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in a

WE WORK!

Psalms 90:17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands. After creating the heavens and the earth for six days(whether literal or otherwise) on the 7th Day God rested. After God rested on the 7th day, what did He do on the 8th day. The answer to this question is obvious, He resumed work again. Jesus confirmed this when He said ...my Father works so I work . .. John 5:17  But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working." Idleness, laziness and mediocrity are not the character of our Father, if you have these characters then you need to explain where you got them from but definitely not from God. God has already set things in motion which you activate when you work in knowledge and wisdom. The greatest of all was redemption which He had already done from the foundation of the world. 1Peter 1:20  He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the

YESHUA HAMASHIAC - JESUS THE CHRIST

John 5:37,39 And the Father who sent me has testified about me himself. You have never heard his voice or seen him face to face, “You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Till we understand that the essence of all things is Christ Jesus, the whole world will remain in chaos! Colossians 1:15-17 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.  He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth.  He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—  such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. If you have not know Christ like this, you have not known the Heavenly Father! Matthew 11:27-28 “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no

YOU CAN START TODAY

Ecclesiastes 7:8 Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride. Truly the joy of every project or endeavour is in finishing it, however, how can you finish if you have not started. Many fear to start because they feel it is late. Remember, that each day you delay to start adds up to the "late". Selah. We know that our greatness is tied to tough decisions we have to make. We are what we are today because of what we did or did not do yesterday, so take action now. Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. That idea, that great revelation came to you because you have a part to play, to bring it to pass. Daniel 2:22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what [is] in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. See, that delay, failure or setback should not make you give up, it should make you move ahead, because it has given you experience. The first thing is to discover your pathway with God then
