WHAT IS YOUR MEASURING SCALE?
Philippians 2:5
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
By whose scale do we measure?
* the world
* the flesh
* God
* or man
We must always remember that the battle has always been for "our soul" that is the real us . . .
When the scale of measure is the flesh, all becomes struggle and chasing after wind.
Ecclesiastes 1:14
I observed everything going on under the sun, and really, it is all meaningless—like chasing the wind.
If all we do is to please men, that they may see that we have arrived, that we might gain respect and power, or that people will see that we . . . etc. Then we have also missed it.
2 Corinthians 10:12
Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!
Instead, let us say like Paul:
Galatians 1:10
For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
1Corinthians 3:21
Therefore let no one glory in men. For all things are yours:
How do we know WHOM we please?
One way is by checking the thoughts that we allow to stay.
Who do we consider first, before we take a decision?
Is it?
* What will people say about this?
* How will I feel about this?
* What does God want me to do?
The truth is God's own is always the best. He knows all things, he has seen further than we can ever see and already knows the outcome.
Revelation 1:8
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
Isaiah 46:10
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,'
Psalms 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.
Wisdom then is to allow our thoughts, actions and principle of life be derived from that of the Lord.
This is also embedded in this verse of life:
Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Oh, if all leaders were to live this way, using the Heavenly Father's measuring scale, what a great nation, community, society we will have!
I see us aligning our measuring scale to God. Remember that is how Christ lived when He stayed with us here on earth.
John 8:29
And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases him.”
One thing we must have in mind is that - IT NEEDS PRACTICE!
Oh help us Good Lord.
He will by His Spirit make all our paths straight.
Lord help us to please You above everything else.
He calls us blessed.
Love
