THE MULTIPLIER EFFECT

John 6:9,11-13

“There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”

Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted.

After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, “Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted.”

So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves.

Have you trusted the Lord as your provider?

The wise believer has learnt to trust in the Lord, yes you may have a large bank account, but you understand that it is the Lord that is your provider.

You keep working that you might earn, this is good, however, you are careful not to lose focus on who you are and what you can do and not do, your real provider is the Lord God.

So the people followed after Christ, and when it was evening, Christ didn't want to let them go without feeding them, then comes the miracle. Multiplication is using five loaves of bread and two fishes to feed about ten thousand people.

The multiplier effect is not new from the Lord, and you can enjoy it on a large scale if you are aligned to His will.

Think back on those times you have wondered, how you will pay that bill, pay that fees, fund that project or pay that debt. You eventually did and you have forgotten how the Lord helped you, now it seems easy. You could also try to balance your income with your expenditure and wonder sometimes that you can't account for some provisions, as long as you have not stolen or cheated another, the Lord does come through.

Listen to the response Philip gave the Messiah:

John 6:5-7

Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?”

He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.

Philip replied, “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!”

The multiplier effect comes in when you see that your income or what you have cannot meet up with what you need or what the Lord has assigned to you.

Also note this, the Lord's disciples weren't idlers, they worked and earned! Never let yourself become a mediocre because you feel you serve the Lord or you are in ministry! Selah

Andrew, Peter's brother took the step of faith He said:

John 6:8-9

Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up.

“There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”

He told the Lord what was available!

What do you have, what do you earn, what is your current position. You cannot just be existing, you have to be on the growth process for the Lord to apply His multiplying effect on you.

Listen, the Lord is more interested in your growth, maturity and well being than you just being rich or having all those things you dream of. Remember your soul is more important.

Mark 8:37

Is anything worth more than your soul?

This is why the Lord prefer to bless you more as you grow!

Look at Joseph, he was never poor though he seemed to have no money as a boy, not as a slave sold to Egypt, but look up his story again, he kept growing. That is what we should be doing. His blessing kept coming to meet up with Him as He grew in faithfulness.

Let your waiting period be your training period. Selah

Don't join the wagon of those who mediocally jump from one crusade or program to another where they receive prophesies like "you will be the next millionaire, you will buy/build your house this year, you will get that visa this year, you will be escorted by convoys this year etc". God doesn't work that way, He wants you to grow, as you grow He blesses you in return.

Do you understand this verse:

3John 1:2

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

What is the essence of any prosperity when our soul and body is not in good health?

Dear Lord make us grow in health and keep our soul in your care. You will multiply us for you have already commanded it on us from the beginning:

Genesis 1:28a

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply.

You will prosper!

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
