WHAT A SACRIFICE!

IT WAS A SACRIFICE Many, most times, take for granted what they receive. One reason they do, is that they do not know how much was sacrificed to meet that need. Romans 8:32  "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" John 1:1-2, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Most people even some who have believed do not know how much the presence of the Son in the Father's bosom meant to God. John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]. Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto

IT IS FINISHED (a reminder)

Acts 4:12  "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:10  "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. John 17:4  "I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. We do not to keep struggling with religion, with the law, with the former things. There is good news, IT IS FINISHED. * it is not in progress, He has done it * he is not saving us, He has already saved us * He is not working it out, he has already worked it out. * He is not fighting the enemy, He has already defeated him on the cross, so we need not negotiate with the e

REPENT, DON'T REMAIN IN THE PAIN

Isaiah 52:2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, [and] sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion. 2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. One powerful thing about the word of God is that it sets us straight, helps us see from God's perspective. That is why the Psalm quoted the word as light and salvation: Psalm 27:1a The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; Paul wrote to the Corinthians a letter of rebuke that showed some, where they erred, yes it made some of them feel bad, yet they where expected to get over it and move forward. 2 Corinthians 7:10 (NLT) For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. Worldly sorrows brings about no good. It is unprofitable for

IT IS A LIE!

Proverbs 20:17 Bread of deceit [is] sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel. That thing, person, or status we long so much for or/and feel we just have to get may not really be it when we eventually get it. THE SAME GAME PLAYS OUT, AGAIN AND AGAIN! 2 Samuel 13:14 Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.  Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her [was] greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone. James 1:14&15 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Most times when we finally satisfy that desire it leads to: Death, to visions and dreams, career, calling, ministry, it furthers aggravates, confidence is taken away, uncertainty takes over. Many ministers h

RUN BACK TO HIM

Psalm 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest. Psalm 41:4  I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. David a man after God's heart allowed himself fall into temptation and he sinned and then sinned again. The punishment did come and they were grave. The issue was he ran back to God. It was like: "that no matter what it is I stay with God". 2Samuel 24:14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies [are] great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. John in 1John teaches that we cannot sin, that since we are born of God we are not bound by sin anymore. Sin is of the devil. However if we do sin: 1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesu

FIND HELP 1

Psalm 121:1  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Help is what everyone would need time and again. No one can tell a complete story of their success without naming people who had helped them along the way. As believers, one time we need help is when we err or go into an eclipse. Remember no believer should think that we may not face this kind of challenge because we do have an enemy. Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired [to have] you, that he may sift [you] as wheat:  But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Yes we could say he was not filled with the spirit then, but when we go through the later scriptures we see temptation on the disciples after the outpouring of the Spirit. Help is needed! Matthew 4:1 & 11 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, an

DO GO TO CHURCH TODAY

It is apt to remind ourselves to fellowship with the brethren.  Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. If you have been born again, that is accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. You have become part of His body and definitely you have a role. 1Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. As a family member you cannot afford to stay away from other family members. The bible says there is need to edify one another. Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. When you stay away from the brethren other things begin to draw your attention and most times they are distractions to who you are in Christ Jesus. The issues alw

THE POWER OF KNOWING (a reminder)

2Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We live in an age where people are more of the seeking for manifestation. Many do not seek to know but just to enjoy a brief manifestation, a glipse of a miracle, a little glory. Wait! it is more than that. You need to know, to understand by learning, study and listening to the things of the Spirit. That is when it stays and remain. Let us look at Jesus our example. Luke 2:46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions Luke 4:20  Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him Jesus was know from childhood as a person of the scriptures. No wonder He could handle the anointing, be it by auction or by faith. selah So that is why we read

THOSE LITTLE THINGS

As we move to end another week we need to be reminded not to neglect the little things that make up the whole. Philippians 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. The things that matter in this life are a collection of little things we do that really do matter. A great rock can be brought down by continually chopping off small pieces. Let us not drop those "little things" * discipline * routines * efforts * readings * prayers * study of the word * worship * show of love * encouragement * planning * investments * sowing/planting * miracles * inventing * advice * counselling * givings * teaching * tongues * prophesying * meditation * gifts of the Spirit * anointing * fasting * vigil * patience * sufferin

Like the Eagle

Isaiah  40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint. When a powerful eagle exposes itself to the land below: Everyone begins to think it is in its place.  Some foolishly take it is as common.  Forgetting that the eagle still has its place at the high grounds. Don't take it for granted cause anything it lifts, either goes as a friend with it to greater heights or is dropped below to crash. For those who understand! Arise like an the eagle you are today, shake up the dust soar to the great height, no matter the storm or rain the high is your aim and nothing can stop you. All the distractions, weaknesses, failures are gone with yesterday. Today you win. Isaiah 49:11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted. Glory to God! Love. @ the watcher

THE CHARACTER OF THE CHRISTIAN 1

David was one of those people that were privileged to sit in the office of a prophet. He also testified of the revelation of Yeshua, Jesus the Christ. He received revelation on the character of the believer: Psalms 15:1-5(NLT) [1]Who may worship in your sanctuary, lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? [2]Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. [3]Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. [4]Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the lord, and keep their promises even when it hurts. [5]Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever. As simple as this description may be, many of us still fall short of these good character. Why? James 1:14-16(NLT) [14]Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. [15]These desires give bir

STILL GIVE HIM GLORY

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. As we continue this week. Yes. . . * We have requests * We have something bothering us * We have a big project, job or assignment on our hands * There may be an issue in the family * We may need a financial provision urgently * There may be someone who needs healing * We may have a matter to settle or an issue to resolve * Someone may have hurt or annoyed us * We await news, or wait for a report . . . .yes and maybe others not mentioned. Notwithstanding, today we need to lay them all aside and just acknowledge Him who made us to see today, give Him praise, worship Him, give Him thanks . . . Let's set today aside to recognise Him who made all things and who controls all things. Revelation 7:12  saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our Go

WHEN YOU SPEAK

Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Nothing pierces the heart with pain more than words. Some say it is better to be physically hit than to be smitten by words. God expects us to be careful with our words. Do you know that power lies in our tongue and Jesus said we will account for every idle word we speak? Matthew 12:36  "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. Also we prophesy into our lives, when we speak we provoke angels and if we are careless other spirits into action by our words. Matthew 12:37 "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." When we speak, what should be the outcome? Our speech as believers should be to * edify one another (improve one another) * be the truth * correct in love * counsel and to teach Titus 2:15 Speak these things, ex

YOU ARE DYNAMIC IN YOURSELF (a reminder)

Psalm 139:14  I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. Envy no one, you were made special no copy of you exists, you are dynamic and different. You may know others who have the same goals, aspirations or exibit the same talent/gifts with you but yet you are different. One thing you are not, is irrelevant. You are a class all by yourself. People could confuse you because of the state/position they see you at a particular point in time (be it high or low).  It limits them from seeing who you really are in the Spirit so they respond to you from the limited perception. * Abraham: Abimelech misjudged Abraham Genesis 20:7 "Now therefore, restore the man's wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours. * Joseph: his brothers, father, Potiphar and his wife misjudged him Gene

What are you thinking?

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. A short exhortation this morning. Trusting God is actually the lifestyle of the believer. The portion of the verse of prophesy we see in Isaiah 26:3 spoke of the difficult part. . . "whose mind is stayed on thee" ... It brings us to the revelation through Apostle Paul: Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. The renewing of the mind is a change from that which we have learnt from the world to that which the spirit of God breeds in us. That is, our mind is on Christ Jesus, we are transformed to His person day after day. 2 Corinthians 5:17(NLT) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! However we wonder if every believer had this experien

SPEAKING THE TRUTH

3John 1:4  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Everyone desires to live in good health, a complete prosperity that is in BODY, SOUL and SPIRIT! That was what Apostle John was prophesying in the book of 3John. 3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Many quote and claim this verse, but do they know the premise to this verse! Let us check: 3John 1:3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. The criteria for walking in prosperity, body, soul and spirit is "walking in the truth". Firstly, we must remember that Jesus the Christ is the truth: John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Once we have established this we

PAYBACK

Psalm 109:5  And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. In the last days the scriptures prophesied that there would be betrayals among brethren. Many would breech trusts that ought to reign in relationships for moments of pleasure, greed and selfishness. One reason this would happen is that in these latter days, many would develop "itching ears" they would not endure sound doctrine. 2Timothy 4 : 3 & 4  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. The fear of God has been removed and replaced with the chase for prosperity, relevance and religion. Forgetting that we would all give account. Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil. Many pray, fast and do

DREAMS 2 - "visions"

Habakkuk 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. When it comes to visions, they come in different forms and for various purposes. * It could be a direct mission to solve a problem or achieve a particular goal. * It could be a revelation of one's lifetime purpose * An instruction concerning a specific issue * An instruction or revelation to someone else. * An idea or direction to cause a turn around in an area of one's life. They could be for: * oneself; * someone else; * a family; * a church denomination; * the community; * a nation; The Lord reveals to the capacity one can run with. It is said that a lot of ideas and visions are trapped in the grave, hmm quite a statement. The truth is w

YOU ARE THERE FOR A PURPOSE (a reminder)

You presence position is not a coincidence, there is a reason for being where you are. Every previous experience was made to prepare you for where you are both the good one and the not too good ones. Esther 4:14b  Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Habakkuk 2:3a  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; So as you enjoy your present position or wait for the next promotion, be grateful for how far the Lord has brought you. * Enjoy the privileges you have * Be diligent in fulfiling your duties * Treat those under you and those above you with love * Have greater people mentor you * Mentor someone * Give as you are led in love * Do not look down on anyone * Do not over-trust anyone * Make integrity and dedication your house style * Show discipline when it is needed yet show appreciation ceaselessly * Do not neglect your family * Do not neglect the brethren * Make friends yet do not forget that it takes a friend to ma

DREAMS 1

Deuteronomy 13:1  If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, That which leaps you to the next level, that which breeds and stimulates you to move on. That, is the dream(s) , the vision(s) . . . YOUR ABILITY TO SEE WITH YOUR MIND. . . A lot of things have been taught on dreams and visions from our older brethren to later ministers and more would still come. However what we are interested in today is reviving lost dreams and avoiding swapping of instructions. Why do dreams die and visions get swapped: * How people feel about it Genesis 37:5  And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told [it] his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. It is our dream it doesn't have to appeal to everyone. Maybe to those who are meant to contribute to its success or those who are to be blessed by it. * Delays Joseph had to wait long: from the pit, to slavery, to prison, and yet more delay. Genesis 40:23 Yet did not the chief butler

THE GLORY - a reminder

2Chronicles 20:6 and said: "O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? One thing is certain, that in all that man has done and will do, the focus will be on the Alpha and the Omega. Be they believers, non-believers and even atheists it is all around the fact that it all begins with and ends with God. The reference point is always God, that He is, or He is not. That He wants it this way or He wants it that way. That there is only one way or that there are many ways. No matter the stand it all circles around God. For those who have not believed, they will eventually believe, but at what time they finally do, will thus determine if we should rejoice over them or cry for them. If it is on this earth, that is in their lifetime, then we can rejoice, but if it is after here then it is tragic. Daniel 4:17  'This deci

REMEMBERING GOD'S GOODNESS

Psalms 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, [are] thy wonderful works [which] thou hast done, and thy thoughts [which are] to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: [if] I would declare and speak [of them], they are more than can be numbered. Every believer at one point or another would face challenges that we wish we did not face, in these times we could wonder if God is there for us. We ought to at these times focus on His goodness to us. Have you tried writing down things the Lord has done for you since the year started, if you do you would definitely run out of ink. Each time we see someone else face difficulty, we should remember that it could us, yet the Lord keeps us. Till we leave this earth, we would have times of need. Times when we would need God's special hand. Halleluyah, He promised to be there for us. Jeremiah 33:3  Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in

GOD STILL SPEAKS (a reminder)

Genesis 35:11  And God said unto him, I [am] God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; What is God saying about this? What is God's will? What step should I take? Questions keep raging in our hearts over different issues, we want answers and very well we do   2Timothy 3:16-17  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,  that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. The word of God still remain potent and keeps us in tune with what the Father says. The Holy gives us deep interpretation and also the wisdom to apply. A believer who is conversant with the word of God would easily understand what God says at each point in time. When Jesus arose and read the scripture prophesying about Himself, he said that the scriptures were fufilled in the presence of

DON'T STAY IN THE WELL

Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. The story of the man who was often warned about a well close to his house but didn't listen has two versions to it. The first was that he fell and he didn't survive the fall. The second was that he fell and by favour did not hit his head on the walls but hit water. He was later discovered after many hours, he spent those hours praying for help, he was eventually pulled out. That one would err is not strange, many have fallen through the journey of life, however the type of fall determines if they would recover or not. 1John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. Sin unto death in this verse does not literally mean that they physically died immediately the sin was committed, many have translated this in relation with Jesus' earlier word on sin against the Holy Spirit, which would not be forgiven. However this topic is talking of errors that lead to de

IN THE WELL

Proverbs 29:1  He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. The story is told of a man who was often warned about a well close to his house. It was a deep old well and this man loved to sit at its edge. He ignored the warnings assuring himself that he had mastered his positioning. Eventually that which was feared happened, he fell into the well. It is dangerous for one to be over-confident with knowledge, the false confidence of having everything under control. Caution is thrown to the wind and thus carelessness breeds disaster. Are we sitting on the edge of a well, do we take invaluable risks? Like a man who juggles his heart in his hands. If it drops it breaks and most times without remedy. Proverbs 5:12&13 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;  And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! Yes. However, we must be careful w

INSTUCTIONS

Proverbs 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction. Jeremiah 17:23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction. Instructions come in various ways, for various reasons and for different purposes. We could have instruction for: * Health * Family * Business * Career * Marriage * For spiritual living * For the after life The need for instruction cannot be overemphasized when we understand that, as humans, we have limitations: * We see to a level * We think to a level * We remember to a level * We then act according to the measure of what we know Thus we need instruction and directions. The glorious is when it is the Lord instructing and directing. The bible says: Proverbs 2:6  For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [cometh] knowle

TRUST/BETRAYAL

Matthew 10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. This is one of the worst thing anyone could do. To earn a trust takes time, to destroy it however, takes a shorter time. "Whether a friendship, family relationship, or business or personal partnership, any bond is built on trust. Without trust, you have nothing. With it, you can do great things. Think about it." Lolly Dascal Today we see a lot of betrayal in the church, work places, families, business partners, friends and in politics. One major cause is selfishness wanting to satisfy our self, lust after a desired pleasure, money or power. It is a high level of foolishness which never goes unpunished. IT SHOULD NOT NE KNOWN Amongst BELIEVERS?! Mark 14:21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born. Matthew 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one anoth

STAY AFLOAT (a reminder)

Matthew 14:31  And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" The world and all its issues are like a big sea which each of us have to walk on. Every step we take leads us forward progressively to fulfil our goals, to accomplish our purpose. I saw this definition of afloat in the dictionary. Definition: Afloat making successful progress under one's own steam. For us to stay afloat we need to do these * stay light: get rid of all unnecessary burden of sin, guilt, hate, tribalism, religions, worry and so on. Romans 13:12 - 14 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.  Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. * Foc

AGAIN I SAY, IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM

What is all the fuss about, why all the discipline, spirituality and teachings. The truth is, it is all about Him, God, the Father! He began it, and He will also end it! Matthew 4:17  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Repent: (theology intransitive) To be sorry for sin as morally evil, and to seek forgiveness; to cease to love and practice sin. Man fell away from his glory when he sinned in the beginning. Man then needed salvation, and thus from the power of sin and death. These was what Jesus the Christ came to do. The question was "what did God command?" Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Exodus 20:1  And God spake all these words, saying, These commandments through the generations were not understood by the chosen ones, the converted it to fleshy pride. Jesus came to make them

GOOD SEEDS

Matthew 13:23  But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth [it]; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. If we are of God, our life must show it, by the daily obedience to His Word. Luke 6:46  "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say? The only way to know His word is by studying them, then the Holy Spirit keeps reminding us of them. John 14:26  "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. We should remember that whom we obey is who is Lord over us Romans 6:16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness. Obedience to God saves us a lot of trouble, cause we will avoid lots of mi
