SPEAKING THE TRUTH

3John 1:4
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Everyone desires to live in good health, a complete prosperity that is in BODY, SOUL and SPIRIT! That was what Apostle John was prophesying in the book of 3John.

3John 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Many quote and claim this verse, but do they know the premise to this verse!

Let us check:

3John 1:3
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

The criteria for walking in prosperity, body, soul and spirit is "walking in the truth".

Firstly, we must remember that Jesus the Christ is the truth:

John 1:17
For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Once we have established this we can go beyond morals to living in the truth.

We have some who have not believed who have a policy of integrity and speak literal truths, yes, some also in one religious sect or the other also try to practice speaking the truth, yes, but there is need for us to know the greatest truth, then speak the truth. We can not also neglect to talk of good parents who have brought up their children to speak the truth at all times.

We now come to believers who are saved by the truth, (Jesus is truth). John made that prophesy because the testimony of the church then was that they were in the truth and walked in the truth:

3John 1:3
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

So the prophesy came forth, an all round prosperity.

Let us look at our denominations today, do we speak the truth to one another? Is love the driving force, many a brethren have taken advantage of another, one is even careful of what one tells the other. Trust seems to have been set aside, lies, hypocrisy and deceit seems to have infiltrated the church.

Yes many are still faithfully, the questions should always be "Am I faithful?". The promises are given to those who walk in the truth, those who don't, have no business claiming it.

The standard is that we be faithful even to strangers:

3John 1:5
Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;

Have we even been faithful to the brethren?

The truth has always been prophesied from the prophets and wise men of old, it is the character of God's children:

Proverbs 23:23
Buy the truth, and sell [it] not; [also] wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

The reason our leaders are under a curse is because they have neglected truth and love for the people they ought to lead: (remember some of them are members of churches!)

Proverbs 20:28
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.

I see a wave of repentance, the church is purged. We begin to walk in the truth.

May the Lord find us worthy.

You are blessed. Walk in the truth.
