DREAMS 2 - "visions"

Habakkuk 2:2
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Habakkuk 2:3
For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

When it comes to visions, they come in different forms and for various purposes.

* It could be a direct mission to solve a problem or achieve a particular goal.

* It could be a revelation of one's lifetime purpose

* An instruction concerning a specific issue

* An instruction or revelation to someone else.

* An idea or direction to cause a turn around in an area of one's life.

They could be for:

* oneself;
* someone else;
* a family;
* a church denomination;
* the community;
* a nation;

The Lord reveals to the capacity one can run with.

It is said that a lot of ideas and visions are trapped in the grave, hmm quite a statement. The truth is when you loose your opportunity someone else will receive the vision who will eventually run with it.

Let us look at some scriptural examples and postulations.

* Terah started to move, it seemed he heard that instruction as Abram heard, if this is true, then he didn't obey fully however Abraham fulfilled the instructions.

Genesis 11:31
And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

* Saul got the instructions, he just couldn't obey them fully. David had to take his seat.

1 Samuel 16:1
And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

* Looking at Daniel, he was not the only  smart boy captured to Babylon however he was the only one who could see the vision and run with it. No king could rule successfully without him throughout his lifetime.

Daniel 1:4
Children in whom [was] no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as [had] ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

Daniel 1:8
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

There are many more examples:

Have we let go of visions we have seen, did we run with any?

It may not be late for us to run again. Do we still see the visions? Let us take the right actions. Fear of failure should not stop us.

What of our children, paternal or otherwise, we could help them run.

It is a sorrow to leave this world with unfulfilled dreams and visions. May the Lord wake us up, may we fulfil our purpose.

God bless you.
