DON'T STAY IN THE WELL
Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
The story of the man who was often warned about a well close to his house but didn't listen has two versions to it. The first was that he fell and he didn't survive the fall. The second was that he fell and by favour did not hit his head on the walls but hit water. He was later discovered after many hours, he spent those hours praying for help, he was eventually pulled out.
That one would err is not strange, many have fallen through the journey of life, however the type of fall determines if they would recover or not.
1John 5:17
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
Sin unto death in this verse does not literally mean that they physically died immediately the sin was committed, many have translated this in relation with Jesus' earlier word on sin against the Holy Spirit, which would not be forgiven. However this topic is talking of errors that lead to death where the one who erred has no hope of recovering. MAY WE NEVER FIND OURSELVES IN SUCH A SITUATION!
We see from David that he, as so many of our earthly fathers, erred and found themselves in horrible wells:
Psalms 40:2
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.
He did not stay quiet or resign to fate, verse one which was our opening verse said he called on the Lord patiently and the Lord heard and as we just read, brought him out of the horrible pit.
No matter what well we may have fallen, we do not just stay in there, we cry out for help. The Lord who is Yahweh *(with the vowels included). This name actually means "God the merciful"*. He would bring us out and include His healing.
What a loving God we serve!
Hebrews 12:13
And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
We above all else must avoid falling into the well. However, if we err, we must arise, turn to God and receive mercy plus healing.
Are there any who we know have fallen? As the Spirit leads, may we be a channel to reach out and save such.
The Lord will keep us from falling, we would do the right things. We would be safe.
You are blessed. Do have an awesome day. (Speak with the Father)
