GOD IS WORTHY OF YOUR PRAISE

Luke 1 : 46 & 47  And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. It takes a person with understanding to consciously worship God. Though His miracles and victories prompt us to worship and give thanks, who else do we praise if not Him? Psalms 42:8  [Yet] the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song [shall be] with me, [and] my prayer unto the God of my life. We could get occupied with what our mind sees or worry about, the question remains "what of those things we don't see and are not conscious of?" God takes care of them! Psalms 40:5  Many, O LORD my God, [are] thy wonderful works [which] thou hast done, and thy thoughts [which are] to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: [if] I would declare and speak [of them], they are more than can be numbered. Let us give the praise, we liberate our spirit and we see in His realm when we do. Many things seek our a

Not Tired!

Hebrews 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; That we face times when we feel down or discouraged is not new, our attitude is what matters. When challenges comes, it most times looks so overwhelming, as if we have not soared through others in time past. We have, and we must let our mind know this: God has already given us victory. However we must be careful not to be the architect of our challenges. Most difficulties man goes through is self inflicted. When we feel we know it all, that we don't need to be led by God. These breeds carelessness and  mistakes, then the cycle of errors begins. Hebrews 12:13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. This truth hasn't changed: Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Be not wise in thine o

CHECK!

Proverbs 16:1 We can make our own plans, but the lord gives the right answer. It is necessary to remind ourselves as we carry on this year that we have spent 57 days already and have less than 300 days to go. The questions are: * What did you hear from God when the year began? * What did you promise God and yourself when you began the year? * What were your written and unwritten plans and goals? * What did you plan to change and what did you plan to improve on? * How far? Do you know that your greatness is tied to tough decisions you have to make. Proverbs 16:9  A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. Proverbs 21:5 Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty. We are yet fresh in this year's journey, we can make amends,  be more determined and achieve goals.  Discover your pathway with God, allow the Holy Spirit lead you all the way . . . then . . . Begin today. . . The road to success is

WORSHIP - a reminder

WORSHIP The best way to begin a new day or week is to worship the one who allowed us see the day. 1Chronicles 23:30  to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at evening; Same way to end the day. Giving God the Glory. Psalms 30:12  To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. The act of worship involves reverence. Our every day lives should be to give reverence to God, in school, workplace, at home, in the bus, in your car, in the airplane, everywhere. Worship is an act which is as a result of the state of ones mind. Worship is for the one we submit to. Do we always worship God. Worship is attributed to a diety and is even synonymous to idolatory. Another synonym is idolatory. (according to the English dictionary). We therefore should note that when we do not worship God something else is worshipped. Exodus 20:3  "You shall have no other gods before me"

WE ARE A FAMILY

Ephesians 1:5(NLT) God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. We have family! we become a member of this family, because of Grace that came from God to a people whom He created for Himself. What happened at the beginning, when man fell?  Man choose to test the otherside thinking it was freedom,  but alas no,  it was to sell the birthright to the one who envied man and wanted to see him fall. Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" Revelation 20:2(NLT) He seized the dragon—that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan—and bound him in chains for a thousand years. Man was created independent with power to choose and to have dominion over all creatures and things created. Yet needed

WHERE ARE OUR GODLY WOMEN?

Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; Where are our elderly women? The Anglican Communion has the group they called Christian Mothers and further still Mothers Union. This group still called various names in different denominations such as "Good women"  and "Awesome Treasures". These group of women ought to stand out as mentors and guardians for the younger women to guide them aright on their conducts as wives, mothers and christian women. Titus 2 :3 gives some description: * Holiness: are our elderly women holy,  are they separated to God? * Truthful(Not false accuser) Do they avoid gossip and rumour mongering? * Can they control how they eat and drink (how do they behave in gatherings when food and drink is served?) * Do they teach good things, are they examples? In appearance, speech and conduct? Titus 2 : 4 & 5 That they may tea

WHERE ARE THE ELDERS?

Titus 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. We live in times when we seek for the elders, the prophets and leaders who are the mouth piece of God, people who are counselors and advisers to the young generation. Where are they? Deuteronomy 6:7  "you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Do we still have elders or have all abandoned the role model status. Have the elders joined the younger ones to misbehave or are they still found without reproach? Titus 2:2(NLT) [2]Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience. * Are our elders self controlled or do they speak anyhow and act anyhow. Do they control what they say and how they react? * Do our elders pull respect or do they just demand i

OVERCOME THE WORLD

1John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? We live in this world and though we are in the world those of us who have been born anew are not of this world but have been adopted as sons of God. John 1:12  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name: Many live in this world and feel that they have conquered the world because they have acquired wealth,  position(s) of power,  intellect or fame. Or have a form of religion. No they have not conquered the world they actually have been conquered of the world. Why? Mark 8 : 36 & 37  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Even the devil made Jesus this offer: Matthew 4 : 8 & 9  Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and

WE STILL PRAY

Prayer is key to the growth and sustenance of the believer.  One of the reasons people get weary in praying is when they feel that their prayer(s) is not answered. When you pray, remember what Jesus said: Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. We sometimes forget those times we are in a dilemma,  we call out the name of the Lord and instantly He takes control. Some of us are yet to see prayer as communication with God and not just an ask and receive routine. James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts. When we pray a lot of activities take place, we need to remember that we pray to change things. Just like Jabez' prayer. Do we also understand that when we change a part, the other part is automatically affected. Take the case of the sons of Zebedee: Matthew 20:20 & 21 Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping [him]

God got you

Isaiah 61:9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they [are] the seed [which] the LORD hath blessed. Some see the beginning of another week as a strain, that the hustling begins again.  Some have fears and doubts an aftermath of events of the previous week,  unresolved issues or maybe still searching for an opening. Whatever the case may be, we need to give God the glory for the grace to be.  If you are His own, one thing is sure,  He takes care of His own, he leads into each day with a fresh newness. Let your spirit be lifted, let His presence flow. For "the brightness of each day is the evidence of success on your way"  Remember that as a child of God, things don't happen to you, they happen for you. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. Do you feel the storms,

Trust in God

Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God [is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH [is] my strength and [my] song; he also is become my salvation. Of course man can fail but God would not,  it is wisdom to trust in the Lord.  However knowing that times of tests would come many feel it is futile to do so,  when you speak of business deals,  daily routines,  and many other transactions we have to do here on earth it sounds weird to some when you bring the Lord into the picture.  Though some have gotten it wrong,  thinking that God would do for us what He has already empowered us to do.  No He doesn't,  yet we know that we cannot get carried away and think that it is by our strength. 1Samuel 2:9b   for by strength shall no man prevail. As we join our brethren today in worship let us remember whom we have trusted,  grateful that even before we asked, He has settled it for us. To Him be all the glory. Halleluyah Love @the watcher.

TRIALS

The real strength of a man is dependent on the ability to face trails and tribulations. As we ask during chess games those days "will he crack?" Proverbs 24:10  If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. It is never easy to face trials,  we carry a physical body,  thus, we can feel physical pain.  More so when it goes further to the inner man the pain can be gruesome. Much respect to great pain bearers like Job and David. These men saw sorrow and were yet able to keep themselves together. Some of our not too distant fathers faced trials and stood strong. What makes it more painful most times are humans themselves.  Friends,  foes and bystanders could become irritating,  with conscious and unconscious negative and unneeded contributions and blame games. Job 16:1 Then Job answered and said, Job 42:7  And it was [so], that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and a

DO YOU KNOW LOVE?

When we talk of love, we open a long teaching which can be described from many approaches or philosophy.  From the question: "what type of love?",  we could begin to talk of the various kinds of love,  eros, philo,  agape etc. However there is someone who is love and we know Him to be the only one who can claim this: 1John 4:8b  for God is love. Many who have read the old testament would wonder at much killings, bloodshed and wrath. The truth is, God had not yet been revealed.  We could say,  what of all the prophets that where anointed to shew him forth? Remember the scriptures said: John 1:18  No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]. Jesus revealed God as who He is: Love! John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Luke 9: 54 - 56 And when his disciples James and John saw

THE DISCONNECT

Psalms 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. That has always been the plan from the beginning. Genesis 3:13  And the LORD God said unto the woman, What [is] this [that] thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. Genesis 3:10  And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I [was] naked; and I hid myself. That was the plan of the enemy, to separate man from God. The enemy's ultimate goal is to disconnect man from God. In the garden of Eden he lied to man,  he said,   "you will not die. . ." but of course man died,  he grew old and died physically but most importantly he began to get separated from God. No matter what happens,  no matter what it seems we face or what we may have done,  we must ensure we do not get disconnected from God.  Prayer,  worship and study of the word daily will keep us in His presence,  and save us from falling into that trouble in th

ARE YOU TIRED?

It is too early to get tired,  the year is yet fresh.  We can restart,  we can retreat and begin again. Psalms 112:5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. It is very likely to get exhausted when you keep doing that good again and again, after a long time you begin to wonder especially when you see a lot of ungratefulness. Our very nature is to do good that is  how our God is and that is how His SON is. He taught us to be so. Psalms 18:30 (BBE) As for God, his way is completely good; the word of the Lord is tested; he is a breastplate for all those who put their faith in him. The question should be *Is it God's will? * Is it a good thing? * Am I on the right part? * Is God happy with me? * Am I positively influencing lifes? * Do I do it out of Love? If the answer is YES then we overlook our discou

LOVE (another reminder)

The greatest motivation should be love. Many serve God for fear of hell fire. Many avoid sin for fear of the repercussion of the law. But the first and summary of all commandments is LOVE. Joshua 23:11  "Therefore take diligent heed to yourselves, that you love the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 6:5 "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. Deuteronomy 11:13 'And it shall be that if you diligently obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, Matthew 22:37 Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' Matthew 22:40 "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." God reached out to us through Love and He expects us to reach out to Him and to others through love. When every other thing fails and passes aw

THE LITTLE - ( a reminder)

Matthew 25:24  "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. Everyone was created with the power to contribute, we all have something to offer. I have come to see in man that in lacking one thing we are compensated with another. The questions is what have we done with what we have? We could decide to complain of what others have, what they know or where they have gotten to. When will we use that which we have ? When do we become that blessing? When do we become the giver or encourager. It is time to look at our accounts, assets, talents, gifts and anointing. Proverbs 11:24 - 25 There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.  The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself. Let us make use of the little we think we know

YOU ARE THERE FOR A PURPOSE - (a reminder)

Your present position is not a coincidence, there is a reason for being where you are. Every previous experience was made to prepare you for where you are both the good one and the not too good ones. Esther 4:14b Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Habakkuk 2:3a For the vision is yet for an appointed time; So as you enjoy your present position or wait for the next promotion, be grateful for how far the Lord has brought you. * Enjoy the privileges you have * Be diligent in fulfilling your duties * Treat those under you and those above you with love * Have greater people mentor you * Mentor someone * Give as you are led in love * Do not look down on anyone * Do not over-trust anyone * Make integrity and dedication your house style * Show discipline when it is needed yet show appreciation ceaselessly * Do not neglect your family * Do not neglect the brethren * Make friends yet do not forget that it takes a friend to ma

OPPORTUNITIES: be prepared

2Kings 13:19  And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed [it]: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria [but] thrice. There is a need to look at opportunities in the positive light, this is because there are yet opportunities that ought to be taken. I believe in seasons and favoured/opportuned times when a thing could easily be accomplished or may I say, be accomplished with less difficulty. In the starting text 2Kings 13:9, opportunity was given to King Joash to completely defeat the enemy, Syria. He, maybe not understanding the reason for striking the bow on the grown struck twice and stopped. He only had partial or limited victory. Someone has described success as opportunity meeting preparation. This is true. There are times and seasons and it takes those who can identify the times, seasons and further know what action to be taken, that triumph. They become a wonder. * Abr

TAKING OPPORTUNITIES

Genesis 13 : 6 - 13 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.  And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.  And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we [be] brethren.  [Is] not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if [thou wilt take] the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if [thou depart] to the right hand, then I will go to the left.  And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it [was] well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, [even] as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.  Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they

WAITING ON THE LORD

Isaiah 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint. We may have prayed, maybe fasted, cried, wailed and it seems God has not yet answered our prayer. We may ask: "could it be that it dosen't bother God?". You may even find your counterparts getting that thing you are still waiting for, easily. Still we must learn to wait. Will it be easy? No. Yet we must wait. Waiting on the Lord works out our patience and proves our obedience. Micah 7:7 "Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me." Lamentations 3:26 "It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD" Quoting Pastor Taiwo Lemoshe "when you have not gotten a new instruction keep obeying the previous one" I then add  "while you are expecting  blessing

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?

So there was the Peter who was getting to know the Lord in the flesh and Peter who knew the Lord in the spirit. The bible accounts that Peter and the disciples saw him and they were not certain it was the Lord. One thing we need to understand is that when Jesus came to the earth his physical appearance and form did not depict His might, power or spiritual self, he just looked like any man. Isaiah 53 : 2 & 3  For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him.  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. So we see in 2Corinthians 5 : 16 " Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more. " The Peter who was

LIBERTY AGAIN

Psalms 126:1  When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. As we journey through our time of life here on earth the best experience a being can have is the experience with the creator. That is actually when one begins to live. John 8:56  Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad. An encounter with Jesus the Christ is the best meeting ever. The awakening of live in the human. Yet this first encounter is followed by events and activities that most times draws the mind of the believer from the Son, who gave that life to man, the world, activities, challenges, preoccupations, competitions, religion, arguments, old age(not of aging in body) and many other assumed necessities that cage us again and make it seem as if we have not been liberated. Then man needs another liberation! Galatians 5:1  Christ has truly made us free: then keep your free condition and let no man put a yoke on you again. A song writer wr

IN THE MORNING

Psalms 5:3  My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct [my prayer] unto thee, and will look up. It may look orthodox or religious or whatever contemporary name we may give it. However every wise christian begins a day in the place of prayer. Reading a psalm is a good way to set up your mind. Mature christians know that it helps to clear the mind of all the dirt and troubles of the day before. Jesus practised this and so did His disciples. Mark 1:35  And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. This needs no philosophy, no special teaching or special revelation. Dear brethren, begin your morning in prayer, teach your children so. This will be a good week for you. Love @ the watcher

STILL ON THE PSALMS

Psalms 23:1  The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalm 23 is one of the Psalms that became an anthem in most christian homes just like the Lord's prayer. Though some new testament teachings categorize the Lord's prayer as being under the old testament, before salvation was revealed, that is before the ressurrection and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, it still remains potent and the only full prayer recorded that Jesus taught his disciples. Ofcourse they asked to be taught just as John the baptiser taught his own disciples! Luke 11:1  And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. This prayer many orthodox churches such as the beloved Anglican communion still do till this day. It is a good thing to teach our children and new converts to recite these psalms though in the power of the Holy Spirit, remember David spake by the Holy

POTENCY OF THE PSALMS

Psalms 91:1  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2Thessalonians 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep [you] from evil. When we read the psalms and other prophetic books of the scriptures we should remember: Colossians 2:17  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ. Hebrews 8:5  Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, [that] thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. The potency of these books is still certain today as it was of old. God respects His inspired word and that was why Jesus declared himself from these scriptures: Isaiah 61:1&2  The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim libe

GOD IN THE PSALMS

David was one man who had an understanding of who God was in His time, his Psalms are full of revelations of the Father, the Son and even the Spirit. We cannot fully get enough songs from his worship and thanksgiving to God. No wonder then God said of him: Acts 13:22  And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the [son] of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. In Psalms 24 there was a declaration: Psalms 24:1 The earth [is] the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Do you know that everything rests on these, every definition is all around or about God. I wrote on some atheist's platform recently that they are all still about God (they say there is no God) the Psalms still have something for them: Psalms 14:1  The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works,

IT IS A FAITH WALK

Psalm 48:14  For this God [is] our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death. The journey with God is a complete one, there is no forsaking, the promise is an everlasting one from when we are born (salvation), through our growth period, through all the challenges and even when we finally leave the body.  Hebrews 13:5c   for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. The question then is why do we feel sometimes He is not there? The truth is that He is but we are not tunned to His presence. Genesis 28:16  And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew [it] not. 1Kings 20:28  And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD [is] God of the hills, but he [is] not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD. That is why we operate
