ARE YOU TIRED?

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. It is very likely to get exhausted when you keep at it again and again after a long time especially if it is the same routines or patterns. The question should be * Is it a good thing? * Am I on the right part? * Is God happy with me? * Am I positively influencing lives? If the answer is YES then we overlook our fatigue and move on. Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Of course it is natural to feel exhausted the scripture says we should not get weary. It implies we know when to rest, when to replenish our strength and not to cease to rely on our heavenly supply. Mark 6:31 And He said to them, "Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while." For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. Yet in resting we shouldn't sleep off and forget...

WHY SILENCE?

1John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Silence could connote a lot of things. * one wanting to be left alone * anger * pain * thinking * one in trouble * not having much to say * unhappiness * stress * a hidden ailment or disease or even * fear. * could also be time to reflect and to make amends * or maybe a time out to meditate There is a need for us to understand the reason behind any silence, cause though nothing might be wrong, a lot could also be wrong. Those we call our loved ones should always be on our mind that we may know when something is wrong. 1Corinthians 12:25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. One painful silence anyone could experience is when it seems God is not speaking. Nothing is as painful as not knowing what God expects from us. One thing is true, God has given us medium(s) through which he communicates with us. * ...

The Noise

John 10:27-28 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, We live in a world that is full of noise.  A lot of things come in from every corner. How do you filter out the evil from the good, how do you keep your self safe from being corrupted, deceived or destroyed? By always being at the right frequency. If you are to live in faith you should hear the voice of the Lord above all the noise. Psalms 62:11 God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. Jesus said His own will hear His voice and thus they would follow Him, they would not follow another. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: So many things seek our attention. * Some are very important * Some are not that important * Some are a mere distraction * Some come to destroy * Some yet come to bring fear and hopelessness  They all work to destroy our faith. T...

WHAT DO YOU CONTRIBUTE?

Matthew 25:24 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. Everyone was created with the power to contribute, we all have something to offer. I have come to see in man that in lacking one thing we are compensated with another. The question is, what have we done with what we have? What have we contributed? Have we made good use of that which we already have? We could decide to complain of what others have, what they know or where they have gotten to. When will we use that which we have? When do we become that blessing? When do we become the giver or encourager? It is time to look at our accounts, assets, talents, gifts and anointing. Proverbs 11:24 - 25 There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also b...

WHAT YOU CONTROL 2

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: We have taken control of ourselves. Next we need to take control of our relationship with others. We could be * leading others: a parent, employer, pastor, teacher or in rulership position( political or otherwise) * be led by others: employee, laity, children, student, citizen, or just reporting to someone * a spouse *  a neighbour * a relation * a public servant: a journalist, welfare worker, medical personnel, in the judiciary or in the armed forces or law enforcement Whether we are reserved, outgoing or in between, we fall into one category or the other. We affect the lives of others. That is why the bible says . . . Hebrews 12:14 & 15 Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking diligently lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become def...

WHAT DO YOU CONTROL?

Proverbs 25:28 A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls. We keep praying, fasting, studying, going from one programme to the other, developing ourselves. In all staying in the Spirit. All these are key elements of people who are heading somewhere, who have a vision of something greater in the future. Mediocrity and laziness is not acceptable in the kingdom of God. Trying to get help on things we do not have control over. But . . . What have we done with the ones we can control? God asked Moses "what do you have in your hand?" The prophet asked the widow "What do you have left?" Now the question is what are we doing with what God has allowed us to control, the number one thing is self. Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: How have you taken charge to ensure that you have taken care of your mind, body and soul? Romans 12:1&2 I beseech you th...

LIVE A LIFE OF WORSHIP

Psalm 95:6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. We live to worship God. All things began from Him and all things would end with Him. It is not by feeling, we just worship. Once we worship, we worship, it is the way we are, what we are created to be, to show forth His glory. If we don't worship God, we of course would worship someone or something else. What then is the benefit? As we gather with other believers today let us not get carried away with activities, let us worship. John 4:23 "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. As we go on with our work this week let us worship. Let us also remember that when we go about doing good, we give God glory it is an act of worship. Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. What of your children? Do th...

SEE AS GOD SEES

2Corinthians 5:16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. How do you see? How do you perceive things? In the Spirit or are you all carnal? Truly we live in a natural world but not all things in this world are natural and we would be foolish to think that we are all natural. We are a spirit living in a body and have a soul. Selah We then need to understand what happens in the Spirit realm we cannot just be simple! Proverbs 1:20-22 Wisdom shouts in the streets.  She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate: “How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded?  How long will you mockers relish your mocking?  How long will you fools hate knowledge? "What do you see?" ""What does God see?" "What is the Spirit expressing?" "What are we express...

YOUR CHOICE

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him." We need to understand who we are, what God created, when He made man. He made us in His image! selah What Glory! Yet what a responsibility. We have the power to choose! This is a blessing and it could also be a curse (don't get it wrong!) Joshua 24:15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Proverbs 1:29 Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD, It is a wonder why the enemy was interested in man. What was man? There was something glorious in man. The enemy saw it but himself did not seem to see it. "You may not know the value of what you have until you lose it". Se...

ACCEPTED SONS

Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, When it comes to doctrines, it ought to be established from scriptures, after careful and thorough searching, then prayers. Although today we have doctrines mixed up with tradition and hearsay, then it is totally misinterpreted. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. Yes we are empowered to become God's children when we receive the salvation that Jesus the Christ offers, yet the walking determines those who will eventually inherit eternal life. Matthew 25:1-2, 11-12 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  "Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish  "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us  "But he answered and said, 'Assuredly,...

WORK AT IT

Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty. When the year began many had a lot of expectations. Some went from one programme to another seeking for one blessing or the other. There would have been a lot of promises targeted at the end of the year. Depending on what one is expecting, some may get it, yet some may not. In some countries, there is this mentality that one would just make it, that is "a tree just appears out of thin air". In other countries some are just complacent and have no ambition, they have been trapped with what they think "is"! No, There is always a planting, a nurturing, then a full growth. We should remember that if: *  It is work, we should expect to spend energy * It is a journey, we should expect it to take some time * it is a training, we should expect to learn and be assessed * it is a business, it will grow from stage to stage * it is a marriage, we live...

WHEN THE WICKED RULE!

2 Chronicles 21:20 Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. No one was sorry when he died. They buried him in the City of David, but not in the royal cemetery. The scripture records that: Proverbs 29:2 When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice.  But when the wicked are in power, they groan. How would the people not mourn a king after he passes on, the answer is simple, He was wicked. Jehoram was the son of Jehoshaphat, when we read about Jehoshaphat we see how faithful he was to the Lord and all he did to ensure that the people walked in the ways of the Lord. When he passed on he had left his first son Jehoram to be king, the only thing that qualified him was that he was the first son.  His brethren were far better than him. To make it worse he went ahead and killed all of them! 2 Chronicles 21:13 Instead, you have been as evil as the kings of Israel. You have led the people of Jerusalem and Judah to worship idols...

REMEMBER YOUR LEADERS

Deuteronomy 17:15  "you shall surely set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. Today we have a say over who leads us, our collective votes should determine who we want to lead us. It is therefore important that every believer participates in this process. Yes it is a secular environment so everyone, believers and unbelievers alike have a right to vote. There is a need to pray for those who lead and those who would lead us. The bible says: Romans 13:1&2 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. We should note that God appoints individuals and not a government system. He appoints individuals that occupy a particular...

GIVE THAT LITTLE PUSH

Isaiah 41:6 Everyone helped his neighbor, and said to his brother, "Be of good courage!" Everything we do would either encourage or discourage another It takes just that little prompting to make that right move or to make the wrong decision. The push does matter! Colossians 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' God is the greatest motivator and that is why He told us through His Son that He would not leave us alone but would give us the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us. He would be that push that would keep us going day after day. John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He...

TRADE WISELY

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Many have traded their joy chasing over material things and the pleasures and satisfaction of the world. The question is "is it worth it?". Yes we must earn, work and keep improving day after day but we must remember "nothing is free". We must pay a price. So, what are we ready to sacrifice? Some have sacrificed, their: * health * peace of mind * children * marriage * calling * ministry * good name All in the bid to get material things. 2Timothy 4:10 for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica-- Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. There is always a process, we would get into trouble when we try to use the shortcut, to get it by all means and immediately. Let us be careful of what exchange we make! Let us ask like J...

LOVE

1John 4:7-9 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God The greatest motivation should be love. Many serve God for fear of hell fire. Many avoid sin for fear of the repercussions of the law. But the first and summary of all commandments is LOVE. Joshua 23:11 "Therefore take diligent heed to yourselves, that you love the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 6:5 "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. Deuteronomy 11:13 'And it shall be that if you diligently obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, Matthew 22:37 Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' Matthew 22:40 "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." God reached out to us through Love and He exp...

DON'T GIVE IN TO THE URGE

James 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. I believe everyone has that one thing we would have done if we didn't see it as wrong. There are also those things that are generally an enticement to everyone. What tragedy it is if one's enemy knows their weak point, that part that seems we do not have control over. It could be * anger * pride * lies * phobia * money * food * partying * sex * substance abuse etc We should remember: Titus 3:3 and 1Corinthians 6:11 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.  And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. It is flesh, which we all have and which could very well desire to satisfy itself if we let it. But NO, we have mortified the flesh and its works, when...

WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God The best illustration of salvation is the record we have in Acts chapters 10 and 11. We still have some who believed that "good works" was enough to enter God's kingdom. Some believed it was by being under the law. Paul by the Holy Spirit was able to explain to us that it was God's grace. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  not of works, lest anyone should boast. Cornelius in Acts 10 was a man known by God and man, as an upright man. He was described thus: Acts 10:2  a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always. * a devou...

WHY?

1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; I have heard many times this phrase "Do not question God", I really do not understand what concept it initiates from. Most likely when someone is bereaved and is in grief, it is believed that one shouldn't ask "why" the person had to leave at that time. One thing although is not argued. "We can question ourselves". Most people who break forth and make an impact in life, most likely initiated their break forth from the "WHY?" One of the most important questions one can ask is "Why am I here?" Exodus 9:16 "But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth. Romans 9:17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "Even for this same purpose I have ...

LIKE THE EAGLE

Isaiah 40:31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. The analogy of the eagle used to express the strength found by those who trust in the Lord is apt. The one who trust is the Lord is known to be an overcomer, to overcome means you faced a battle. Selah. Yes all of the new testament talks of our victory which we have in Christ Jesus, this victory of course is from a battle, this battle however has already been won in Christ Jesus, we just enter into the victory. Glory to God. The most powerful victory is over the two enemies of man, sin and death. 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. Yes we are here on earth but we are of the Heavenly kingdom, thus we operate from the heavenly dimension, the place where God dwells. Glory. Just like when a powerful eagle exposes itself to the land belo...

THINK OF OTHERS

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. We live in times when many have become so self conscious that they think of themselves alone and no one else. It is always about, "how do I: * get, * gain, * be better than another, * rule over others, * take advantage??? etc. . . " Wisdom instead says: Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. When we see men who have succeeded in achieving great things in life, one factor common to them is that they sought solutions to problems facing others. * Abraham was the solution to a generation yet unborn * Joseph was to alleviate famine from Egypt * Daniel was to save the death of all the wise men in Babylon and eventually pray his way to the freedom of Israel * Solomon was full of passion to lead Israel aright * David wanted the problem of Goliath deleted * Lot was tired of the ...

NOT SATISFIED

1Chronicles 4:9&10 Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain."  And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. Have you ever felt that "You are more than this". That feeling that you are better than what you have been, that there is more to you than what you have experienced. Yes, this is true. Our vision eye opens, we see that where we are now is not where we ought to be. It is like an awakening, as if from a deep sleep. We ask ourselves: "Why am I still held up here?" The first thing to do is to take stock and when we do, we will find ourselves wanting. The pertinent questions to ask are: * Am I being ungrateful? * Am I comparing myself to others? * Am I ge...

THE LORD CARES ABOUT THE RIGHTEOUS

Psalms 37:23 The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives. If you have ever questioned why you should be good and do good, the reason most times is because you have wondered what gain there is. Just like David did once, he wondered why it seemed evil people prospered while those who stayed good suffered. However, he found out not long that this was not true. Psalms 73:3,12-13,16 For I envied the proud when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness. Look at these wicked people— enjoying a life of ease while their riches multiply. Did I keep my heart pure for nothing?  Did I keep myself innocent for no reason? So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper.  But what a difficult task it is! He then went to the source of truth: Psalms 73:17-19 Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked. Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction. In an in...

WRITE THE SCRIPT! - be the teacher

Hebrews 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. In this world, we meet situations we have no control over, time and time again. Let us look at some examples in scriptures: * Daniel found himself in a strange land with so much expected from him. * Joseph found himself in a palace with so much to account for. * David found himself in the war zone with a giant soldier threatening his people * Lot found himself in a community full of unrepentant sinners whose atrocities knew no boundary * Solomon found himself as king, when he ought to have been a rejected child. Listen, their reactions would determine their future. It was in their hands to write the script. How would they do this? By putting their trust in the Lord. We can see that . . . "The situations are not always our making, yet the scripts, we can write" We can write t...

IT IS UP TO YOU

2 Chronicles 15:2 and he went out to meet King Asa as he was returning from the battle. “Listen to me, Asa!” he shouted. “Listen, all you people of Judah and Benjamin! The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you. It is actually that simple! You decide if you want the Lord to reign over Your life or if you want something else. Some would say: " O, I am neutral, I do not choose the way of the Lord and I also do not choose the way of evil". It may not be that simple, man was created to lean on God, we are dependent on the divine and the options are in fact limited. If you don't stay with God you will surely serve something else. Selah Recall that man originated from God and the enemy brought man's distance from God through rebellion, what was the result, man was now easily influenced by the enemy. Genesis 4:7 You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse ...

DON'T BE TRAPPED IN ASSUMPTIONS BE LED BY THE SPIRIT

John 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. When Jesus said that those born of the flesh are flesh and those born of the Spirit are spirit. He spoke of the kind of life we would live day after day. It is a hard thing to be led by those who do not have the Spirit. The same way it is great to have a gifted, talented and intelligent boss who knows how to make decisions, the same way every leader must know what is to be done at each point in time. If God is leading a lot of errors could be avoided. How difficult it is to be led by those who are moved by their feelings or the atmosphere of the moment. Those under them tend to suffer. Let us take a look at Saul: 1Samuel 14:24, 27 & 29 And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oath, saying, "Cursed is the man who ...

GOD WILL DO IT

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Yes, many things may be bothering you as we go closer to the end of the year, there may be plans and expectations which are still pending and you: * still have requests * may have something bothering you * have a big project, job or assignment on our hands * may have an issue in the family * need a financial provision urgently * have someone who needs healing * have a matter to be settled, or an issue to resolve * may have been hurt or annoyed by someone * await news . . . and maybe others not mentioned. Notwithstanding all these, today lay them all aside and just acknowledge Him who made us see today, give Him praise, worship Him, give Him thanks . . . Let's set today aside to recognise Him who made all things and who controls all things. Revelation 7:12 saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and...

GOD KNOWS WHAT IS BEST

Psalms 24:1 The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. Our Heavenly Father who knows all and has all things in His control. Yes, we may ask: "O what of those who do not acknowledge Him yet things seem to work well for them?" It is indeed so because the Lord has made a system that works, when you follow the right principles it produces its result. Just like anyone has the privilege of planting into a fertile ground and the seed would grow once you water it properly. This works both for the good and the bad. Just as Jesus explained: Matthew 5:45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. Listen, no one will employ you to do a work and then decide not to pay you because you do not know the founder of the organisation. No, once you are in employment you work and get your wages. Selah So ...
